Chapter 103: Pork Jerky (2)
Yao Ran frowned slightly and said, “We can’t keep fresh meat for too long. If you bring it back like this, people will target us. How about I stay here to process the pork into pork jerky and cook the pig’s offal and blood?”
“We are short of fuel, and it is troublesome to process pig heads and pig offal at home. I can clean and cook them here for easy transport.”
She then looked at Jia Xiang and said, “Also, Jia Xiang, please go back with them. It’s very dangerous for only the two of Long Yu and Shi Xuan to transport so much supplies.”
Unlike them, Yao Ran is an ordinary citizen. Although she can fight and is stronger than the average college student, she is a woman, after all, and it would be very dangerous if she encountered a group of robbers.
Hearing this, Long Yu asked with a hint of worry in his voice, “Won’t it be too dangerous for you to stay here alone?”
Yao Ran smiled and confidently said, “I can protect myself.”
Now that she said so, the other three had no choice but to agree. After some discussion, the four of them first moved the supplies Yao Ran found to the boats.
When they had filled the three boats, half of the corn, potatoes, and sweet potatoes remained in the warehouse.
Long Yu looked at Yao Ran and said, “You must be careful and stay alert. I will try my best to come back as soon as possible.”
Yao Ran nodded, “I know. You guys should be careful on the way.”
After Long Yu watched Yao Ran walk back to the pig farm, he got on the inflatable boat, and Shi Xuan started the motorboat’s engine.
To shorten the trip, Shi Xuan did not take a detour and chose the shortest route, which took at least four hours round trip.
While Shi Xuan carefully drove through the dangerous water currents and heavy rain, Yao Ran put everything into the warehouse in her space.
She then went to the small house before entering the space to take a bath. After spending several hours in the pig pen, Yao Ran really wanted to take a shower to wash away the stench.
After taking a shower and changing clothes, Yao Ran went to the small villa’s kitchen. She used her mind to move the pig blood out of the warehouse. She cut the pig’s blood, which had already become jelly, into large pieces and boiled it in a large pot.
While waiting for the pig blood to be cooked, Yao Ran cleaned the pig heads and pig offal with her mind. Because of this convenience, she chooses to work in her space rather than the outside world.
If she worked in the kitchen of a small house on the pig farm, cleaning the pig offal and head would take hours. However, the work can be completed in just two hours inside the space.
Because she was busy working, Yao Ran didn’t know how long she had been in the space.
She looked at the timer floating in the living room and realized that she had been in the space for more than three hours, so she decided to leave.
Since getting her space, she has saved a lot of time, but the more she saves, the safer she will be in the future. It’s better for her to be frugal and not waste too much time staying inside the space.
After leaving the space, Yao Ran only needs to make pork jerky and braise some pig offal and pig head. The work is not complicated, but it takes time.
She didn’t plan to cook all the pig’s offal and head today. She only braised some for Long Yu and the others to eat and keep the rest for future use.
First, Yao Ran cut the pork into thin and long slices and set them aside. Then, she prepared the sauce to marinate the pork. Since there is a lot of pork, Yao Ran decided to make spicy jerky, sweet jerky, and original salty jerky.
Just as she was preparing the marinade sauces, Long Yu and the others came back. Before Yao Ran could see them, she had already heard their voices coming from outside.
“What did Yao Ran cook? It smells so delicious!”
Hearing Huang Qian’s excited voice, Yao Ran looked towards the kitchen door. Seeing him walking in and sniffing the air, she smiled and replied, “I made pork jerky, braised pig offal, and braised pig head.”
Huang Qian saw the pots of pork slices and asked, “Have you finished cooking?”
Yao Ran shook her head, “Not yet. I’m still preparing the sauce for the jerky.”
Just when Huang Qian was feeling disappointed, Long Yu’s voice came from the living room, “Huang Qian, come and help us move these supplies.”
“Yes, Captain.”

After Huang Qian left the kitchen, Yao Ran calmly took the pig blood, pig offal, and pig head from the space and placed them in the corner of the kitchen. The pig’s offal and head still needed to be braised, while the pig’s blood had been cooked and could be eaten directly or made into soup.
Forty minutes later, Long Yu, Jia Xiang, and Huang Qian came back, all drenched from head to toe.
Long Yu went to the kitchen and asked, “Yao Ran, is there anything I can transport back first?”
Yao Ran pointed to a corner of the kitchen and said, “The pig blood is ready, but the offal and head still need to be braised.”
Long Yu saw three pots of pig blood and said, “I will move the pig blood back first. I brought some plastic bags to pack the pork jerky. When you are done, you can pack the pork jerky into the plastic bags.”
Yao Ran nodded, “Alright.”
Just when Long Yu walked out of the kitchen, Yao Ran heard Jia Xiang sneeze.
“Ah~ choo!”
She put down the spatula and turned down the heat before going to the living room to take a look. When she saw Jia Xiang’s red nose and misty eyes, she asked, “Jia Xiang, do you catch a cold?”
