Chapter 407: I Have Always Been Waiting For You Guys
In the Second Army’s barracks, most soldiers were completing their retirement procedures, while others assisted with the process.
When Yuan Rihui and his team arrived, only one soldier was guarding the entrance. The soldier stopped them and asked, “Comrade, what is your business here?”
“I’m here to meet Captain Li Tianyu,” Yuan Rihui replied.
The soldier, aware of Li Tianyu’s retirement, pointed toward the parking lot and explained, “Follow this path. Captain Li is there.”
Yuan Rihui thanked him and hurried to the parking lot, where the soldiers were already gathered.
Seeing him approach from a distance, Li Tianyu waved at him and said, “Thank you for coming, Brother Yuan.”
Yuan Rihui nodded and asked, “Where do you want us to place the supplies?”
“Please wait a moment,” Li Tianyu said.
He turned around and called five soldiers over. He explained, “These are our space ability users. You can hand the supplies to them.”
“Alright,” Yuan Rihui replied.
As the seven ability users handed over the vast quantity of supplies, Yuan Rihui gave Li Tianyu a detailed list.
“Miss Yao has prepared enough supplies to support over 20,000 people for three months, as well as fuel for a round trip to Brother Long’s location.”
Li Tianyu skimmed the list, noting Yao Ran’s thoughtful additions, such as winter clothing, warming pads, and pre-cooked meals.
Satisfied with the amount she gave him, he saluted Yuan Rihui and said, “Take care, Brother Yuan. Let’s meet again in the future.”
Yuan Rihui returned the salute. “Be careful on your journey.”
After bidding farewell, Li Tianyu turned to his soldiers. “Board the trucks. We are leaving now.”
“Yes, Captain!”
As the military trucks departed in an orderly manner, Yuan Rihui watched them go, a sense of unease creeping in.
“I hope the situation doesn’t worsen further,” he murmured. “If it does, I will need to devise another plan.”
One of the combat-ability users interrupted his thoughts and asked, “Brother Yuan, should we head back now?”
Hearing this, Yuan Rihui nodded. “Yes, let’s go. We still have other orders to deliver.”
By now, news of the disbandment of the First and Second Armies had spread across the base. With so many soldiers retiring simultaneously, tensions continued to rise, and an ominous atmosphere settled over the entire base.
An hour after Li Tianyi left the Juncheng Military Base, Li Zhen visited Long Yu.
Looking at his tired and thin face, Long Yu said, “Take a seat.”
“Thank you, Captain,” Li Zhen said as he sat on the couch in the sitting room.
After Yao Ran placed a cup of hot ginger tea in front of him, she said, “Drink some to warm your body.”
Li Zhen thanked her and took a sip before Long Yu asked, “Are you here because of my previous offer?”
Li Zhen nodded. “Yes, Captain. I discussed it with our brothers. Now that the First Army is gone, we have decided to work with you. If your offer is still open, can we join you, Captain?”
Long Yu smiled and replied, “Of course. I have always been waiting for you guys.”
Hearing this, the gloom on Li Zhen’s face dissipated, and he finally smiled. He held the hot glass of ginger tea tightly and lowered his head.

After a moment of silence, he finally said, “Captain, thank you.”
Noticing the slight tremble in his voice, Long Yu looked at him sadly. He had wanted to bring his brothers out of the military sooner but couldn’t force them to abandon their own principles.
Smiling at Li Zhen, Long Yu said, “Don’t thank me. We are brothers, and I’m happy we can work together again.”
Seeing the two of them fall silent, Yao Ran asked, “Brother Li, what is your plan after leaving the military?”
Li Zhen shook his head and replied, “My brothers and I don’t have any plans for now. After leaving the barracks, we will wait for the Captain’s orders.”
Yao Ran thought for a moment and asked, “Do you have a place to live?”
Li Zhen blushed slightly at her question and shook his head again. Scratching his head, he shyly explained, “We don’t have a place yet, but we plan to rent a house after getting Captain’s permission to join the team.”
Hearing this, Yao Ran pondered for a while. She then said, “This villa is quite large, and there are some empty rooms. If you don’t mind, how about staying with us? It will be easier to take care of each other if we live together.”
After saying that, Yao Ran held Long Yu’s hand and added, “A Yu and Shi Xuan must have a lot to talk about with you and the others.”
When Li Zhen heard this, he turned to look at Long Yu and Shi Xuan. Seeing them nod, his eyes lit up, and then he said, “Then, I will inform the others. Thank you, Sister-in-law.”
When she was called ‘sister-in-law’, Yao Ran was stunned.
Before she could react, Long Yu said, “Go and let the others know first. We will prepare the bedrooms for you guys, and we can have lunch together later.”
Li Zhen’s eyes lit up at these words. He nodded and said, “Yes, Captain.”
After Li Zhen left to inform the others, Yao Ran stood up and said, “I’m going to clean up the bedrooms and warm them up.”
Hearing this, Long Yu also stood up. “Let me help you.”
As the two of them left to prepare the bedrooms for Li Zhen and the others, Shi Xuan decided to clean up the third floor to make more room for his brothers.
While the three were busy cleaning, changing bedsheets, and heating rooms, Li Zhen hurried back to the First Army’s barracks.
When he arrived at the living area, one of his subordinates saw him and asked, “Captain, why are you in such a hurry?”
Li Zhen turned to look at him and ordered, “Go and tell the others to get ready to leave in fifteen minutes.”
