Chapter 420: Disasters Come One After Another
Before the door fully closed, the cargo aircraft began its ascent. Below, the remaining survivors saw the aircraft lifting off and cried out in panic.
“Please, wait for me!”
“Take us with you! Don’t leave us behind!”
Standing near the half-closed door, Li Zhen clenched his fists as he looked down at the desperate people.
When the door finally shut, Ding Jianfeng patted his shoulder and said, “Sit down. This is going to be a rough flight.”
Almost on cue, the aircraft jolted violently from the turbulence. Shi Xuan tried his best to drive the huge cargo plane while avoiding meteorites falling from the sky. In the cargo area, others quickly sat down and fastened their seat belts.
On the flight deck, Yao Ran pulled out a pair of night vision binoculars from her space and scanned the surroundings. The fallen meteorites had left trails of destruction and fires across the landscape. The burning buildings illuminated the night, making the devastation starkly visible.
In the distance, a red light flickered against the dark sky. A sudden sense of foreboding washed over Yao Ran, and she zoomed in to take a closer look.
As the night vision binoculars focused on the scene, she saw thick black smoke rising into the sky and red flames raging below. Seeing this scene, her eyes flickered for a second.
Noticing the subtle change in Yao Ran’s expression, Long Yu asked, “Ran Ran, what do you see?”
Yao Ran handed him the night vision binoculars and pointed toward a distant mountain. “Look over there,” she said.
Long Yu took the binoculars and scanned the area.
Just as he spotted the smoke and fire in the distance, Shi Xuan spoke urgently. “Captain, over twenty planes are leaving the base and following us. What are your orders?”
Hearing this, Long Yu glanced at the tracking device system in the cockpit and said, “Let them be. Focus on avoiding the meteorites and head straight to our air raid shelter.”
Shi Xuan nodded. “Understood.”
After that, Long Yu shifted his attention to the distant mountain while Yao Ran took out another pair of night vision binoculars from her space and observed the chaos below.
Due to the meteorites and the drastic temperature differences between the air and ground, turbulence was severe. To stay safe, Shi Xuan maintained a low altitude, keeping the aircraft close enough to the ground for an emergency landing if necessary.
Seated by the window, Yao Ran watched as cars and people poured out of the Juncheng Military Base, running for their lives.
With so many survivors desperate to escape, vehicles couldn’t drive fast. Some individuals, driven by panic and instinct, smashed car windows or climbed onto roofs, attempting to steal vehicles or hitch a ride.
As Yao Ran observed the chaos below, Long Yu suddenly spoke. “A Xuan, take a detour and stay away from that mountain.”
“Got it.”
Shi Xuan promptly changed direction, and the planes following them did the same. Just moments later, a deafening noise erupted in the distance.
Boom! Grooo~ Boom!
Hearing this, Yao Ran turned toward the mountain. Thick black smoke gushed into the air and spread rapidly.
“The volcano erupted,” she said with a hint of tension in her calm voice.
Shi Xuan’s eyes flickered as he looked at the black smoke and announced over the speaker, “Brothers, Fujiang Mountain is about to erupt. There will be huge turbulence in a moment.”
In the cargo area, Li Zhen and the others tightened their seatbelts, silently praying for Shi Xuan’s skill to be still as good as before. Otherwise, they might meet Yan Wang today.
Seconds later, another explosion resounded.
Boom!
This time, red flames erupted from the volcano’s peak and then turned into black flames, shooting into the sky and raining down in all directions.

Molten lava, blackened and red-hot, spilled from the volcano’s mouth, incinerating everything in its path and reducing it to ash. The lava surged downward relentlessly, engulfing the land in a scorching tide.
As more lava spewed forth from the volcano, temperatures soared, intensifying turbulence in the air. Combined with the falling meteorites, some of the planes trailing behind failed to dodge. They were either struck by the meteorites or plummeted to the ground because of the turbulence.
While Yao Ran could only watch the unfolding nightmare, the survivors below experienced a different level of terror and helplessness.
By the time their cargo aircraft reached a safe distance from Fujiang Mountain, the boiling lava was only a few kilometers from the Juncheng Military Base.
Although they had escaped the volcano’s eruption, the danger posed by the falling meteorites persisted.
Yao Ran stared at the bright streaks still descending from the sky and said, “It’s been almost an hour since the first meteorite landed, but there is no sign of it stopping.”
Hearing that, Long Yu and Shi Xuan remained silent.
Human strength felt insignificant in the face of nature’s fury. All they could do was fight for survival and pray for the disaster to end as soon as possible.
Sitting in the co-pilot’s seat, Long Yu noticed something unusual on the tracking device. He picked up the night vision binoculars and scanned the area through the window. Frowning deeply, he saw a black shadow looming against the dim firelight in the distance.
Before he could react, a powerful gust of wind struck the aircraft, tilting it dangerously.
“Hold on!” Shi Xuan warned as he struggled to stabilize the cargo aircraft.
Yao Ran steadied herself and looked out the window, only to see four massive tornadoes appearing out of nowhere.
“Those are multi-vortex tornadoes!” she said in disbelief.
The wind intensified as Shi Xuan gripped the controls tightly, doing his best to keep the aircraft steady. Realizing there was no way to avoid the tornadoes, he made a bold decision.
Turning on the speaker, he said, “Brothers, we are going through the tornadoes in a few seconds.”
In the cargo area, reactions were mixed—some of them cursed their bad luck, while others fell into grim silence.
