Chapter 429: Red Code
Jia Xiang responded, “Alright. I will let Professor Ye know.” With that, she left in a hurry.
Chen Zizhen saw that the space ability users had finished storing the supplies and said, “Miss Yao, I will take my leave now.”
“Take care on the way.”
Yao Ran sent them off before she went to prepare the materials Ye Junkai had requested.
That day, everyone in the air raid shelter remained busy assisting with the rescue mission, managing the emergency rescue point, and working without stopping until late at night.
Unbeknownst to them, something unusual was happening high in the sky.
On the outskirts of Luocheng City, Wu Yehao and his team were checking the surroundings with a drone. Just as the drone went deeper into the city, it suddenly crashed.
Seeing the screen suddenly turn black, Wu Yehao frowned and asked, “What happened?”
The man controlling the drone looked equally confused and replied, “I’m not sure. Give me a second.”
While the man worked on reconnecting to the drone camera, one of the men outside suddenly opened the tent and said, “Captain, we have a situation.”
“What’s wrong?” Wu Yehao asked calmly.
“We detected an anomaly in the magnetic field,” the patrol said, showing Wu Yehao the data on his laptop.
Looking at the fluctuations in the data, Wu Yehao’s expression changed. He typed something on the laptop, and two additional screens popped up.
After studying the data for a moment, he quickly called headquarters. He waited a few minutes before the call connected.
Before he could speak, Fu Zongshang’s voice came through.
“Yehao, the world’s magnetic field has shifted greatly, and the magnetic shield has also weakened. It will be difficult to use our devices for now until the changes in the magnetic field stabilize.”
“Our team has also discovered that the fallen meteorites caused the weakening magnetic shield, so there will be a spike in radiation over the next few days. Be careful out there and make sure to keep an eye on everything happening around you.”
He paused for a moment and asked, “Did you bring any radiation protection equipment?”
Finally given a chance to speak, Wu Yehao replied, “We only brought a few sets, but we should be fine since all of us are ability users. We have a higher tolerance for radiation.”
Hearing this, Fu Zongshang felt slightly relieved. “That’s good. Remember to take the medicine to prevent any unwanted deformation.”
“Yes, Commander.”
Just as he was about to give Wu Yehao further instructions, someone knocked on his door.
“Come in,” he said. Seeing the panicked expression on the staff member’s face, he asked, “What’s wrong?”
The staff member quickly replied, “Commander Fu, the satellites have begun falling, as we predicted. The first one to fall was the Maple Country’s satellite.”
At those words, Fu Zongshang stood abruptly from his seat. He clenched his hands and confirmed again. “Are you sure?”
The staff member nodded, handed him a device, and said, “Please take a look at this, Commander.”
Fu Zongshang took the device and played the recorded video. When he saw multiple satellites falling to the ground across the country, his grip on the device tightened.
After finishing the video, Fu Zongshang said, “Initiate the Red Code.”
“Yes, Commander Fu.” The staff member took the device and quickly left to relay the order.
After a moment of heavy silence, Wu Yehao’s voice came through the communication device on the office table.

“Commander Fu, should I continue with this mission?”
Fu Zongshang clenched his hands tightly as he frowned in thought. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, “Where are you located now?”
“We are already on the outskirts of Luocheng City, ten kilometers away from the secret laboratory,” Wu Yehao replied calmly.
After deliberating for a moment, Fu Zongshang made a decision. He closed his eyes and ordered, “Halt the mission. Find the nearest checkpoint and wait for further instructions.”
Wu Yehao’s eyes flickered briefly at the order. A few seconds later, he said, “Understood.”
Ending the communication, Wu Yehao turned to his team and said, “Pack up. We are heading to the nearest checkpoint.”
“Yes, Captain.”
Meanwhile, after finishing his communication with Wu Yehao, Fu Zongshang left his office.
When his assistant saw him come out from his office, he hurried over and reported, “Commander Fu, the Red Code had started, and an emergency warning had been issued, but only 30% of the agents had responded.”
Hearing this, Fu Zongshang’s frown deepened.
“Continue sending the emergency warning every half hour. Mark the last known locations of the unresponsive agents and monitor them closely. If they don’t respond within three hours, list them as missing and prepare for Black Code.”
As they stepped into the elevator, Fu Zongshang added, “Inform the other senior officers to gather in the conference room in ten minutes.”
The assistant hurriedly jotted down the instructions and said, “Yes, Commander Fu.”
Three minutes later, another emergency warning was issued.
At the same time, Yao Ran’s watch began beeping, drawing her attention. Seeing the red warning sign blinking on the screen, she tapped it, and a message appeared.
[To all personnel: The world’s magnetic shield is weakening, and the magnetic field has shifted greatly. For those agents currently outside, please report your location immediately, then proceed to the nearest checkpoint and stand by for further instructions.]
After reading the message, Yao Ran closed it. A second later, a map appeared on her watch’s screen, displaying green, blue, yellow, gray, and red dots scattered across the country.
Studying the map closely, she realized that each color represented the status of the checkpoints.
Green indicated a checkpoint with full supplies and no occupants. Blue indicated supplies were full, with less than 50% occupancy. Yellow indicated supplies were not full, but occupancy exceeded 80%. Gray indicated unavailable checkpoints for various reasons, and red signified empty supplies.
After studying the map, Yao Ran closed it and thought, ‘There are three red checkpoints nearby. Since I have a lot of food and water, maybe I can resupply them. But before that, I needed to inform others about the magnetic field changes and satellites falling.’
