Chapter 430: Going Out
After making her decision, Yao Ran headed to the main control room. When she opened the door, she saw Shi Xuan inside.
Turning around, Shi Xuan noticed her and asked, “Yao Ran, do you need something?”
Yao Ran nodded. “Yes. I just received an emergency warning.”
She opened the emergency warning on her watch and showed it to Shi Xuan.
After reading it, Shi Xuan groaned and said, “This is really bad. We should announce this to everyone so they can take precautions when going out.”
Yao Ran agreed and added, “If the radiation levels are increasing rapidly, we can’t allow ordinary people to leave the air raid shelter until the levels drop. Otherwise, they might die from radiation exposure—or worse, transform into deformed monsters.”
“You are right,” Shi Xuan said with a frown. After pondering for a few seconds, he added, “I will take care of the announcement. However, we can’t leave the perimeter unguarded.”
Hearing this, Yao Ran suggested, “I still have some anti-radiation suits. It’s not a large stock, but it should be enough for the patrol teams.”
Shi Xuan’s eyes lit up at her words. “How many do you have?” He asked with expectation in his voice.
Yao Ran closed her eyes and sent her consciousness to her warehouse. After a quick calculation, she opened her eyes and replied, “I still have more than thirty thousand sets.”
Listening to her words, Shi Xuan was speechless for a moment. “…..”
After a brief silence, he said, “The anti-radiation suits are consumable, and we don’t know when or if we will be able to produce more. Let’s start with five hundred sets for now. I will adjust the patrol schedule so the soldiers can share them.”
Yao Ran nodded. “That works. I will place the suits in the warehouse. You can have Jia Xiang handle their distribution.”
“Alright.”
After a moment’s thought, Yao Ran said, “Shi Xuan, I may need to leave for a few days. If A Yu comes back later, please tell him that I will come back after handling the matter.”
Shi Xuan slightly raised his eyebrows and asked, “Aren’t you going with Captain?”
Yao Ran shook her head. “No, I’m going alone.”
Shi Xuan frowned and said, “Yao Ran, it’s too dangerous to go out by yourself in the current situation. The magnetic field is shifting, and satellites are falling. We won’t be able to use satellite phones anytime soon, which makes communication nearly impossible.”
“Moreover, there is darkness everywhere outside. If something happens to you, we won’t be able to help. Also, Captain won’t approve of this.”
Yao Ran considered his words for a moment and said, “Then I will take a team of ability users with me.”
Before Shi Xuan could respond, she showed the map on her watch to him and added, “I’m heading to these three checkpoints. They are nearby, and I should be able to return within three days at most.”
Shi Xuan studied the map and sighed. “Fine. But you will need to take at least five people with you.”
Yao Ran nodded. “Alright.”
With that settled, Shi Xuan transferred the map data to their database while muttering, “Captain is definitely going to be furious about this.”
Once he finished, Yao Ran said, “I will head out now. Please help me take care of A Yu.”
Before she could take a step, Shi Xuan stopped her. “Yao Ran, take this with you.”
Pocketing the satellite phone, Yao Ran nodded and then left the main control room. On her way to the parking area, she encountered Ding Jianfeng, Ma Benshun, Guan Haotian, Quan Yuanwei, and Sima Yun.
Seeing her going the same way as them, Quan Yuanwei asked, “Miss Yao, are you heading out?”
Yao Ran paused when she heard his question. Seeing that they were also heading toward the parking area, she nodded and asked, “Are you all heading out as well?”
Quan Yuanwei replied, “Yes, we are planning to help at the emergency rescue point.”

Yao Ran pondered for a second and asked, “Would you like to join me on a mission instead?”
Sima Yun’s eyes lit up with curiosity at her words. “What kind of mission?”
“I’m heading to three nearby checkpoints to resupply them,” Yao Ran explained. “I was planning to go alone, but Shi Xuan insisted I bring at least five people. Since you are already heading out, why not accompany me first? It won’t take long, and then you can head to the emergency rescue point.”
After some consideration, Ma Benshun agreed. “Alright. I will go with you. The emergency rescue point has plenty of people helping, so going a bit later shouldn’t be an issue.”
With his agreement, the other four nodded as well.
Looking at them, Yao Ran asked, “Do you guys need to prepare anything first?”
Ding Jianfeng patted the gun on his waist and grinned, “We are ready to go.”
“Alright, let’s move out.” Yao Ran said.
Five minutes later, the six of them left the air raid shelter and made their way down the mountain.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, Sima Yun asked, “Miss Yao, where are we going first?”
Yao Ran checked the map on her watch for a moment before saying, “Head toward Changlong River.”
“Got it.”
As a native of Juncheng City, Sima Yun was familiar with the surrounding area.
Despite the damage to the highways caused by natural disasters, some sections were still usable. Passing the high-voltage fences, he drove the armored vehicle onto the highway.
After only a few minutes of driving, they encountered a group of deformed monsters.
Gazing at their grotesque, rotting forms, Ding Jianfeng commented, “No matter how many times I see these things, I will never get used to them.”
On the back seat, Guan Haotian agreed, “Same here.”
Hearing this, Ma Benshun calmly said, “Just treat them like lumps of meat and crush them.”
His comment left the others speechless.
“….” How can you even think of them as just meat? You are really something else, brother.
