Chapter 440: Arriving In Luocheng City
Yao Ran’s eyes lit up at Long Yu’s suggestion. She then turned to him and said, “That is a great idea.”

“We can try searching for containers in Luocheng City after investigating the secret laboratory. The containers are likely to be overlooked as people focus on finding the ships. It should be easier for us to get some of them.”

Long Yu nodded and added, “Luocheng City had the smallest population in Beifeng Province, and most of its residents left in the early days of the end of the world. If we are lucky, we might find more than we need.”

“You are right. Let’s check the warehouse area later.” Yao Ran agreed.

“Alright.”

With a new objective in mind, Yao Ran and Long Yu began mapping out their next steps. While they prepared for the impending natural disaster, the scientists working for The Ark and The Origin rushed to complete their experiments.

Six days later, Yao Ran and Long Yu arrived on the outskirts of Luocheng City by noon.

Seeing Yao Ran’s exhausted face, Long Yu said, “Ran Ran, let’s rest inside your space for a day before entering Luocheng City.”

Knowing that a tough battle awaited them, Yao Ran agreed. “Alright.”

After saying that, Yao Ran took Long Yu’s hand and placed her other hand on the dashboard. A second later, the armored vehicle vanished.

Once inside the space, Yao Ran let go of Long Yu’s hand and stepped out of the vehicle. She then used her consciousness to retrieve a small barrel of petrol from the warehouse and refilled the armored vehicle’s tank.

While she was refueling, Long Yu headed to the villa to take a shower. Before long, Yao Ran finished and teleported to the villa.

Upon appearing in the living room, she walked into the dining room and used her consciousness to take out some food from the warehouse. By the time Long Yu finished his shower, the dining table was already filled with steaming hot dishes.

Seeing him walk in, Yao Ran said, “Let’s eat first.”

Long Yu nodded, sat at the table, picked up some food, and placed it on Yao Ran’s plate. Looking at her, he said, “Tomorrow morning, we should scout the surrounding area first before entering Luocheng City.”

“Alright.”

After satisfying their hunger, Yao Ran took a shower before joining Long Yu in bed. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she fell into a deep sleep.

Early the next morning, Yao Ran woke up feeling refreshed.

She turned to the side and saw that the space beside her was empty. Hearing the sound of water from the bathroom and feeling the lingering warmth on the bed, she yawned before getting up.

After showering in another bathroom, Yao Ran prepared breakfast. When Long Yu came out of the bedroom, she called out, “A Yu, let’s eat first.”

Walking up to her, Long Yu lowered his head to kiss her cheek and said, “Good morning, Ran Ran,”

“Good morning, A Yu.”

After their simple breakfast, they packed their weapons and a small backpack filled with food, medicine, and water.

Holding Long Yu’s hand, Yao Ran asked, “Ready?”

Long Yu nodded. “Yes.”

With that, Yao Ran teleported them out of her space.

The moment they reappeared in the outside world, Long Yu activated his wind element energy, creating a wind barrier around their bodies. With their scent concealed, the nearby deformed monsters remained unaware of their presence.

Wrapping an arm around Yao Ran’s waist, Long Yu manipulated the wind and lifted them into the sky. As they floated in the air, Yao Ran took out binoculars and scanned the surroundings.

Seeing numerous deformed monsters roaming below, Yao Ran noticed something and frowned slightly. “The deformed monsters have really evolved after the surge in radiation levels.” She commented.

Long Yu took the binoculars from her and observed the deformed monsters below. A moment later, he said, “They seem to be controlled by someone.”

“The Origin released some information about this before,” Yao Ran said. “There should be a higher-level deformed monster nearby commanding these lower-level ones.”

Long Yu pondered for a moment before handing the binoculars back. “I can fly for over ten hours now. Let’s not use armored vehicle to avoid unnecessary battles.”

Yao Ran nodded. “Alright.”

After putting away the binoculars, she wrapped her arms around Long Yu’s neck. He then held her securely, reinforced the wind barrier, and then flew toward the direction of The Ark’s secret laboratory.

Following his memory, Long Yu flew for more than five hours before landing on the rooftop of a tall building. After putting Yao Ran down, he looked down from the edge of the rooftop and saw countless deformed monsters roaming aimlessly in the area.

“The secret laboratory should be somewhere around here,” he said.

Yao Ran pressed a button on her watch and opened a map to check their location. “We are about two hundred meters east of the secret laboratory,” she confirmed.

Long Yu frowned when he heard that. He looked toward the east and said, “We just came from the east, but the entire area is crawling with deformed monsters. Could the secret laboratory be underground?”

Feeling uncertain, Yao Ran suggested, “Should I ask Wu Yehao? He managed to retrieve that file from the secret laboratory, so he might know its exact location and how to get inside.”

Although they were wary of Wu Yehao’s real intention, asking him was better than searching aimlessly. After a brief consideration, Long Yu agreed. “Alright.”

Yao Ran then dialed Wu Yehao’s number and only had to wait two seconds before the call was connected.

“Eldest Young Lady.” Wu Yehao’s calm voice came a second later.

“Captain Wu, where are you?” Yao Ran asked.

Wu Yehao shared his location with her and replied, “I’m in Luocheng City. Do you need me to do something for you?”

When he asked, Yao Ran exchanged a glance with Long Yu before saying, “I’m also in Luocheng City.”
