Chapter 111: Bei Mingsi
In the first floor of the Empire Building besides the staircase, there was a fierce argument going on.
The survivors split into two groups. The right had four people and the left had three.
The one leading the right side was a middle-aged man.
He had a thin build, wearing a dirty branded tuxedo’s whose upper buttons were open and right pants was torn.
His eyes are beaded, partly covered by askew gold-rimmed glasses he was wearing.
The rim of his eyes were red, lips pointed, twisting into a sinister angle as he scolded the other side of survivors mercilessly.
“If I would not have done that, do you think we can escape?! Your flesh would not even be enough for all those wolves!” His loud cranky voice echoed in the whole first floor.
A middle-aged man woman from the opposing glared and Bei Mingsi with hatred. “Bei Mingsi! You ungrateful bastard! My husband helped you get on the jeep but you pushed him off!”
Her husband who always breaks his bones to search for food and save some of it, so she can eat well was left in that dangerous place and now, she doesn’t even know if he is still alive!
How can she not hate this Bei Mingsi!
If it weren’t for him, her husband would come out alive too!
“Yes! My son too! How could you leave my son there! I could still hear him calling my name! If you would have waited for a little while! Everybody could escape!” Another middle aged woman dressed in red qipao sent Bei Mingsi a death glare before sobbing.
Her son who always put her first! Her baby son!
The last woman also clenched his fists. Her husband unfortunately could not get on because he returned to help the injured people in the army.
Before the typhoon, there were staying in a hotel not far from the Plant Conservatory.
A seminar and conference were scheduled since earlier this year but because of the typhoon they were stuck there.
When the weather got better, they wanted to go to the Military Base.
But the survivors that went ahead of them never reached the base because they were attack by large wolves when they passed by the Plant Conservatory.
The memory vividly stayed on her mind and scarred her for the rest of the time.
To worsen it, the supplies in the hotel started dwindling and the snow came, making the temperature freezing.
She though they would remain trapped there forever.
But, by a stroke of miracle, last night, the military sent three jeeps full of soldiers.
It would have gone well if not for this bastard.
When the driver and the passenger soldiers got off the jeep to push the debris out of the way, this Bei Mingsi took advantage of their absence and jumped on the driver seat and sped away.
One of his friends also did the same thing to the other jeep.
They tried to stop him but the speed he was driving the jeep nearly thrown them off, they could only hold on for their lives.
Bei Mingsi remained indignant and sanctimonious. He viewed his actions as righteous.
“The military couldn’t even handle those things! You saw it for yourself last night! I save your asses, so why are you complaining to me! If it was any second late, those wolves would jumped on the jeep and eat us all!”
“Yes! We owe Brother Bei our lives and you didn’t say a thank you to him!” A young man in early twenties and Bei Mingsi’s cousin, Bei Changge pointed his fingers at the women, accusing them for being unappreciative.
“Yes! Brother Bei should have left them instead too!”

“Owe our lives? Don’t make me laugh! The one who brought the jeeps were the soldiers! If it weren’t for them, we would have rot in that place!”
The women weren’t at least grateful.
Bei Mingsi was someone ill tempered. He had enough of their scoldings and raised his fists.
“Shut up!”
These women were already tired and hungry and they couldn’t muster anymore strength to defend themselves.
Bei Mingsi’s cousin and buddies quickly help him out.
The women fell on the ground hard, scraping their knees and arms.
They were punched in their stomachs and faces that did they finally stopped.
“Keugh.” They groaned on the ground, severely weak from the punches.
Blood flowed from their nose and the corner of their lips.
The middle aged woman in a red qipao had the worst injury.
Her head hit the cold floor hard and it was bleeding.
Bei Mingsi’s face stung. The women’s nails were long and sharp.
Bloody red streaks appeared on his cheeks and brows.
“If I knew this would have happen, I would have pushed you as well! You bunch of ungrateful women!” Bei Mingsi incensed and raised his right foot to kick the woman in red qipao.
However, before he can execute his plan, they heard footsteps coming from the stairs.
They lifted their heads and saw two men with guns on their hands.
Bingwen and Hei Qian were these two men. “Raise your hands!”
At the face of guns, Bei Mingsi and his buddies showed fear.
….
As Nanzhi’s group reached the entrance of the Empire Building, they saw Bingwen and Hei Qian tied four people with rope.
Nanzhi frowned, feeling two of the people’s faces were very familiar.
“Sister…I mean Miss Lu. Can you help us treat their injuries?” Bingwen was relieved to see the group returned.
Bingwen’s and Hei Qian’s expressions changed when they saw the unconscious Feng Ran in Lin Weihao’s arms.
“What happened to Brother Feng?”
It was Yu Baoyin who answered.
Meanwhile, Lin Weihao tossed Bei Mingsi and the others a scrutinizing gaze. “Did you stole the jeeps and brought the wolves here?”
“Yes! It was them! They stole the jeep from the soldiers and drove to this place!” One of the women responded.
“Wolves? The wolves are here? Cousin, didn’t we already throw them off? You drive so fast, how can they still catch up!” Bei Changge became anxious.
“Shut up!” Bei Mingsi reproached his cousin. Fool! Don’t you see those people’s eyes turning scary!
Lin Weihao’s and Nanzhi’s gazes cast heavy pressure on him.
….
Nanzhi treated the women’s injuries.
Bingwen and Hei Qian brought the unconscious Feng Ran to the guest bedroom, cleaned him and changed him into a new set of clothes.
Yu Baoyin warmed up the leftover ginger soup in the pot and gave them a bowl each.
The women were grateful, thank them profusely.
Starve for a long time, they finished it in a few gulps.
They don’t know if it was because of hunger but the ginger soup were very delicious and rich.
When the women were feeling better and could properly speak, Lin Weihao asked them, “Where are the soldiers?”
The Aunties pressed their lips into a heavy frown and began to tell the story of what happen last night.
Yu Baoyin, who just recently brushed past death, swallowed her saliva upon hearing their encounter with the pack of wolves.
At the mention of the particular name, Nanzhi who was arranging the medicines and tools in her kit, paused.
