Chapter 191: What do you know about the egg?
The three off-road jeeps swerved in front of them, blocking every direction and cutting off their path.
The doors slammed open, and a dozen foul-looking men spilled out, each armed with firearms, grenades, and even an RPG launcher.
At the head of the pack stood Big Fang—a hulking brute much like his brother, with greasy hair sticking to the sides of his face. He reeked of dried sweat and rotten blood, his shrewd eyes locking onto Nanzhi like a snake spotting fresh prey.
“Ain’t this a lucky find?” he drawled, spitting onto the ground. “Pretty little things waltzin’ through our street like they own the place.”
His men sneered and chuckled, their gazes full of filth.
“Boss, look at ’em,” one of them leered. “Except for a few green drops, I haven’t seen women this clean since after the apocalypse.”
“Yeah, and look at that one,” another thug laughed, nodding toward Nanzhi. “Tch, such a cold beauty. I bet she’d look even better when she’s crying—”
Big Fang smacked the man on the back of the head. “Tsk. This one is mine. You can have the other one.” He liked a challenge the most. Yu Baoyin looked like someone who would cry easily—too easy, too boring.
Realizing Big Fang had his eyes on the cold beauty, the man quickly apologized. “Alright, alright! I’m sorry, Brother Big Fang. But it’s alright for us brothers to share the other one, right?”
Big Fang waved his hand dismissively. “Whatever.”
The thugs erupted into disgusting laughter.
“Brother Big Fang is so magnanimous! Thank you, Big Fang!”
Yu Baoyin’s expression twisted in disgust. A bunch of disgusting pigs! Even from here, she could smell the foul stench coming from their mouths. Had they never heard of brushing their teeth?! And how dare they disrespect Sister Nan!
Her nostrils flared, white fumes seemingly puffing out in rage.
Nanzhi didn’t care what they said about her, but she wouldn’t let them get away with their bad intentions toward Baoyin.
Her gaze landed on their wrists.
The same tattoo as the ones who had died to the ants.
Nether Bone Gang.
The rest of their group had already sensed the shift in the air.
Feng Ran suddenly felt the temperature around him drop.
He rubbed his arms.
There was no need to turn around to guess who was causing it.
Big Fang’s disgusting smile widened as he leered at Nanzhi, not even bothering to hide his intent. “Don’t worry, little beauty. Brother will be extremely gentle with you!”
The group erupted into vile laughter again.
Oblivious to the impending disaster, Big Fang turned his attention to the men in Nanzhi’s group. His eyes darkened, and his lips twisted into a cruel sneer.
“But before that, we got business to discuss. See, my little brother ran into some unfortunate trouble a while back. I know you had something to do with it.” His expression twisted with barely concealed rage.
He took a step forward. “Let’s not make this hard, eh? Just hand over the alien beast’s egg, and we’ll let you off with complete corpses.”
The thugs chuckled amongst themselves.
They thought the men beside the women were frozen in fear—outnumbered and staring down the barrels of their guns.
Big Fang thought the same. A disgusting grin spread across his face.

“Not talkin’? That’s fine. We’ll beat it out of you.” He turned to his men. “Take ’em alive. Kill the men after they surrender the egg. The women—”
Zzzzt—
Crack—
A blur of motion.
A single bolt of lightning sent Big Fang flying. His massive body slammed into the off-road vehicle with a sickening crunch, crumpling like a ragdoll.
“Keugh!” His mouth sprayed blood before he collapsed onto the pavement.
“T-there’s an awakener! Fire at them—!” The thugs raised their firearms and squeezed the triggers.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
To their utter astonishment, the bullets stopped mid-air, a meter away from Nanzhi and her group, as if hitting an invisible barrier.
Not a single one reached its target.
A heartbeat of silence.
Then—
The bullets turned.
“W-what the f—”
Nanzhi snapped her fingers.
The bullets shot backward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Screams erupted.
Thugs collapsed one after another as their own gunfire ripped through their flesh. Blood splattered the pavement. Eyes widened in terror.
“AHHH!”
The ones who didn’t hide under the cars in time lay dead on the ground. Those who managed to hide suffered serious wounds.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Men dropped like flies.
The thugs who had been so smug earlier now trembled under the vehicles.
Then—
The cars floated.
Lifted into the air as if weightless.
The cold beauty Big Fang had coveted earlier stood above them, her gaze icy.
“Do you know something about the egg?”
The egg?! Doesn’t this mean they really took it?!
“So it really was you people who took it!” The thugs gritted their teeth. Their smugness disappeared, and they no longer saw Nanzhi as a weak woman.
Before they could even raise their guns, Nanzhi waved her hand.
Clink.
Their weapons, including the grenades and RPG launcher flew from their grasp.
Feng Ran, Bingwen, and Hei Qian moved behind them, aiming their guns at the backs of their heads.
Dread flooded the thugs’ minds.
Their lips fumbled. “W-we… we didn’t mean it! J-just a joke, Boss! W-we were just foolin’ around—”
The man couldn’t finish his sentence before Yu Baoyin kicked him forward.
“Hold him, Feng Ran!”
Along with that greasy-haired pig, this one had also dared to talk badly about Sister Nan!
Feng Ran, who rarely catered to Yu Baoyin’s whims, restrained the man’s arms.
Yu Baoyin raised her right leg—
And delivered a ruthless blow to his groin.
“This is what you get for being so disgusting!”
The man screamed at the top of his lungs, his eyes rolling to the back of his head.
Feng Ran involuntarily winced.
Hiss.
He squeezed his legs together.
“Don’t forget the rest.” Nanzhi said to Baoyin.
“Right! How could I forget!” Baoyin stepped on every thug’s groin and pressed her shoes hard.
“Ahhh!”
With them unarmed, it was easy for Bingwen and Hei Qian to finish off the rest.
Nanzhi glanced at the remaining survivors.
More tattoos.
Meanwhile, everyone turned to see Lin Weihao dragging a black-and-blue Big Fang toward them.
He tossed the man to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
Big Fang’s face was swollen like a pig’s, covered in bumps and bruises. He was barely clinging to life. One foot already in the grave.
It was clear he had suffered severe torture at Lin Weihao’s hands.
If not for wanting to extract information about their hideout and leader, Lin Weihao would have already killed him.
Big Fang’s consciousness teetered on the edge.
In his eyes, Lin Weihao had become another version of his boss—only much, much scarier.
“Hah… S-spare me! Spare me! Hah… I’ll never do it again!”
Nanzhi stepped on his cheek.
Cold. Indifferent.
Her voice was like a death knell.
“What do you know about the egg?”
