Chapter 61: A New Mission
The only conclusion they got was because of gene alteration of animals due to the earth suddenly releasing unknown energy into the air and it was further supported when an unknown element containing radioactive properties were found in the water and air.

Not only animals were affected, people too. They began to develop symptoms like fever, body pain, and head ache.

Those who overcome the sickness emerged as awakeners while the rest either perished or stayed as non-awakeners.

She glanced at Lin Weihao, wondering on how to tell him about it without sounding like a crazy person.

The buckets in their hands suddenly became heavy because the things inside the buckets were attracted by blood.

An Bo and the others quickly approached the edge and laid the buckets down.

But before they can open the lids and released the rats inside, bullets coming out of nowhere hit them.

At the same time, An Bo saw a silver flicker before his arms were cut off. “Argh!”

He wanted to call Brother He but the latter had already succumbed to the bullet wound on his head.

Nanzhi and Lin Weihao looked at the buckets full of big rats.

Nanzhi placed the blade on his neck, near his artery before asking him, “Who asked you do this and how many people are there in the hotel?”

In the Grand Hotel, one of the gang members patrolling the night passed by An Bo and Brother He’s room, only to find them missing. He searched around but couldn’t find them anywhere.

Hours passed and in the blink of an eye, it was already morning.

Suddenly, Nanzhi heard sounds of water splashing coming from the edge of the lake.

When she went there, she saw Lin Weihao and Feng Ran standing and looking at the edge of the lake.

When she got closer Gu Ling and Ke Xin and they were flapping their arms seemingly drowning and asking for help, specifically looking at Lin Weihao’s direction.

Nanzhi could clearly see their tanks were floating in the water exposing half of their bosoms.

“Please help me! I can’t swim!”

Gu Ling and Ke Xin spotted Nanzhi and they couldn’t help but make their movements more rigorous and charming letting their sleeves slipped off their shoulders.

Feng Ran was near the two and therefore he can see how the shallow the water was. These two were just clearly trying to seduce Brother Lin.

They saw Lin Weihao moved. The two were instantly happy inside thinking that they managed to charm Lin Weihao but contrary to image forming on their head, the two only saw Lin Weihao passed by before approaching Nanzhi.

Feng Ran snickered.

The faces of Gu Ling and Ke Xin became red like beets after being ignored. They gritted their teeth at Nanzhi’s direction.

Gu Ling suddenly felt something tapped her back. She thought it was Ke Xin. Annoyed, she said, “Don’t touch me! This idea of yours is stupid!”

“I didn’t touch you.” Ke Xin was confused.

“Huh? If it wasn’t you…” Gu Ling turned around and saw four corpses floating on the lake, gnawed beyond recognition.

“Ah!!!” She sprinted out of the lake, screaming on top of her lungs.

Ke Xin also saw the floating corpses and her face turned deathly pale. She hurriedly scrambled out of the water, never minding stepping on debris.

Their screams attracted everyone.

The boss of the gang heard four of his men were found dead in the lake.

He frowned heavily but only asked the cause.

Gu Ling and Ke Xin who were first to see the corpse and reported that there were many bite wounds.

It seems that he needed to hurry.

The boss told everyone that they will leave today for the tourist hotel.

She gave the little girl a radio, extra batteries, compass, and a map. She also slipped in some food and water for the information.

A’ze gulped at sight of the food.She hid it inside her clothes. “Sister, thank you!”

“Shh.” Nanzhi reminded the little girl to be wary and not tell anyone about the supplies and only tell people she trusted.

A’ze nodded.

Nanzhi reunited with Lin Weihao in the camp, only to hear the system say.
