Chapter 75: Alliance or Plunder (1)
The clicking noise was the sound of the door opening.
“I have a question for you.” Nanzhi said as she controlled the guns from a distance.
She wasn’t sure if what sort of trump cards this person has or are there any traps in here.
It’s better to be careful.
Chu Muwen’s blood ran cold and beads of sweat rolled from his scalp. He could feel a particular killing intent emanating from behind him.
His grip was on the sniper rifle trembled and his eyes flickered with red glint. He quickly turned around and aimed the sniper rifle to Nanzhi’s direction.
But he was stunned to see the floating guns for a moment hovering in front of his face.
Dang!
A Metal-based Awakener!
Nanzhi didn’t stay idle and pulled all the triggers before Chu Muwen could react, all aiming to incapacitate him.
Chu Muwen gnashed his teeth and the air in front of him rippled.
He wasn’t going to use this so early but there was no choice!
The bullets from Nanzhi’s handguns stopped a feet away from him before falling on the floor. In that brief moment, Nanzhi noticed the bullets hit a transparent film.
A barrier?
Is her first thought.
“Seeing you’re a little bit surprised, perhaps you don’t know this kind of thing!” Chu Muwen grinned with complacency as if victory was in sight.
Bang…
But the images of Nanzhi getting hit by his sniper’s bullet didn’t come into fruition because the ceiling was hit instead.
“Ah!” Chu Muwen grunted as his left cheek was grazed by the bullet. It was hot and stinging from pain.
In the last moment, the curtains behind wrapped around his neck and the rest of his body and turned him into a mummy.
His hold of sniper rifle loosened just before he pulled the trigger.
If not for him tossing his head back in the nick of time, his jaw would be pierced instead.
“Aren’t you a Metal-based Awakener?!” Chu Muwen was shocked.
Nanzhi had a knowing look as if she discovered something interesting, “So it’s not entirely powerful.” She can still influence the things inside the barrier, just not the things he was holding, for instance, the sniper rifle.
But what kind of power is that barrier just now?
System?
She asked in her mind.
[It’s probably a system reward just like the serum.]
Yu Baoyin said before that when one used mental power there would be this faint electrical pulses that both awakeners would feel if their power clashes but Nanzhi hadn’t felt anything at all.
But to think this guy knew about Mental Power.

A knife appeared in Chu Muwen’s hand.
He tore all the curtains and was about to seize the rifle but it moved and was flung towards his opponents’ feet before it disappeared.
Chu Muwen’s eyes became grim.
It seems he would need to postpone his plans about the sluice gate!
Two guns appeared in his hand and he headed towards the table.
Nanzhi’s guns followed his movements and both exchanged fire.
Bang…Bang…Bang…
“F*ck!” Chu Muwen once again cursed as the room was suddenly filled with light making him temporarily blind.
Meanwhile, Nanzhi counted the duration of the barrier instead.
’11…12…13…’
Something appeared in Chu Muwen’s hand, he threw it to the spot there was a shadow of Nanzhi.
Nanzhi saw the grenade rolling under her feet.
Boom…
There was an explosion and white smoke and dusts filled the room.
Yu Baoyin who was outside heard the explosion and she became nervous. She was torn in between rushing inside and staying put but Sister Nan said that no matter what happens she must not go inside!
“What to do? What to do?”
When the dust and white smoke scattered, Chu Muwen stood up, holding his gun and went to check if that woman is dead but all he saw was the broken lights, the one that had been used by the staffs.
A shadow flashed in front of him and he felt both weight on his wrists.
Crack. Crack.
Chu Muwen’s both wrists and elbows were broken and his knees sunk to the floor, wailing from pain. “Ahhh! Ahhh!”
Nanzhi pressed the muzzle of the silencer on Chu Muwen’s forehead before uttering coldly, “21.”
The barrier was finally gone and from this short fight she was able to notice a lot of things, one of which he doesn’t have a game lobby at all.
Nanzhi thought he would have another trump card but its seems she overestimated him.
Chu Muwen, in his desperate moment withdrew the remaining weapons like the grenades and even used his mouth to stab her with a knife.
He was like a vending machine to Nanzhi, spitting out supplies.
She collected them all including the grenade that had no more pin.
The inventory was in static state and it didn’t blow up, making her discover a new thing.
Oh!
This only continued for less than two minutes and judging from the number of items he threw, the inventory slots he possessed would be around 10 to 15.
Nanzhi had already expected that his inventory is limited otherwise he wouldn’t leave the supplies in the room.
However…
“Let’s get down to business.” Nanzhi’s controlled the other two guns and placed it behind and at the right side of Chu Muwen’s face, making him broke into cold sweat.
Chu Muwen’s arrogance had long gone and replaced by desperation and anxiousness. He had underestimated her entirely!
“I can answer any questions you want! Just spare me! I only did it because I thought you would kill me! I’m sorry, Miss!”
Nanzhi pretended to be swayed by his words.
“Alright, I will spare you but you must answer my questions honestly. But, I must inform you, I worked for an intelligence agency before specializing in criminal behavior, if you lie again just like what you said seconds ago, I won’t hesitate to fire.” Nanzhi said before asking in a serious tone, “How did you become a player?”
Chu Muwen’s heart raced.
