Chapter 78: Acquiring a Resource Point
Nanzhi and Lin Weihao carried the cages and threw it out of the third floor’s terraces before waiting for the fishes to be lured.

Just after two minutes passed, the two noticed there the stale water had movements.

The smell of the mutated salacca combined with the natural bait was like a high grade elixir to the bighead carps.

Under the water, one could see three large bighead carps moving towards the cages. One of which, is the one Nanzhi had almost killed before.

After eating a bit, some of its injuries had healed and it was back to hunting again.

Like possessed, they swarmed to the narrow cages and opened their mouths wide, to bite the bait inside.

Nanzhi had attached plastic bottles and drums above the cages and with the fishes suddenly diving inside, the improvised floaters shook violently.

Three harpoons with metal wires tied to the end appeared in her hand and with the combined aid of the newly acquired marksmanship skill and her telekinesis, she was able to hit them accurately.

The fishes being hit, struggled inside the cages.

Nanzhi grasped Lin Weihao’s right arm and handed over the wires, clearly signaling that it was time.

Lin Weihao grasped them and under Nanzhi’s astonishing gaze.

Purple lightning thick as a child’s arms zipped through the wire and travelled to underwater. Nanzhi only heard of Lin Weihao’s lightning power but never got to see it personally but now she had to admit that she admired the lethality of it.

Very convenient.

Nanzhi could hear the fishes make sounds and banging the cages with their tails.

Nanzhi took this chance to aim her gun to the cages, finally finishing the bighead alien beasts for good.

It was only until she heard the system notifications that she stopped.

The loud sounds caused by the alien fish beasts attracted the attention of the survivors inside the building.

Nervous, they ran towards the windows and terrace and once they saw the carcasses of the large dead bighead carps floating on the water, they were stunned.

Nanzhi and Lin Weihao pulled the wires to drag the fish carcasses to the terrace and dug for their spars. Nanzhi also planned to keep its meat for future use.

She pressed her lips when she found hundreds of eggs in one of the fishes’ bloated bellies.

Strangely enough, not only that Lin Weihao was aware of her telekinesis power but rather her space too.

He even said, “The survivors won’t be able to pack all the supplies. It would be a waste to leave it here and the water collection and filtering system on the roof is extremely useful. I can dissemble it for you. Additionally, the snowstorm might come soon, do you want me to gather all the woods in one place as well?”

Nanzhi: “…”

Just how much he knew!

Nanzhi gave two of the spars to Lin Weihao for his share and kept the last one for her advancement later.

But how could Lin Weihao take good things from his wife?

He gave the spars back, placed it inside Nanzhi’s hands before she had any chance to reject.

“But you also have to upgrade your powers!”

“I already have other spars.” Lin Weihao stuffed his hands inside his pockets. His lips tilted into a smile, inadvertently sensing that they had become closer since last night. She wasn’t even aware that she had stopped calling him Mister Lin.

The curve of his smile deepened.

Plus, in terms of the resources needed, her power is much harder to upgrade. Zhi Zhi had often stumbled during breaking the bottlenecks.

“Other spars?” Nanzhi was surprised. “Did you also encounter alien beasts before coming here?”

After killing the alien beasts, Lin Weihao admitted that he lied about fetching someone but rather they were here to find a specific plant.

It’s just Lin Weihao didn’t know about its location and the only information he had was that it appeared in Furong Lake Orchard.

Nanzhi guessed that it must be the resource point.

To find it, they boarded the boat and searched for the sluice gate first.

The sluice was located in the edge of the orchard and was connected to the irrigation system.

Nanzhi also passed by the resource point and she took a brief glance as to what it might be but the water was murky making it hard to see.

Thus, she gave up and decided to wait until the water is drain.

Upon arriving on the sluice gate, the two searched for the square nut and hand wheel and found them coiled around the dead grapevines.

The water drained slowly at first because of the debris blocking it. Nanzhi collected the woods and used the inventory to destroy the garbages.

After an hour, the water in the Grand Hotel had finally receded. She stored back the boat to her inventory before she and Lin Weihao walked around.

Nanzhi could see a lot of bones whether from animals or humans protruding from the mud.

Her gaze didn’t stay on them and told Lin Weihao that she might knew where the thing he was looking for was.

She pointed to the direction of the resource point.

Lin Weihao didn’t ask and only followed her words.

In the end, they really did found what they were looking for. In the land full of debris without, it was very conspicuous.

It was a lotus flower with two pairs of pink and white buds growing on a single stalk.
