Chapter 95: Exploring Tier 1 (2)
Contrary to before, Nanzhi was able to see faint strands in the same color as the red granule of light in her Mind Palace, coating the floating daggers.
It didn’t take her too much guess that this must be her mental power.
Nanzhi took out wooden dummies and placed them at the end of the Game Lobby.
Her first experiment was how many daggers she can control and the weight at the moment.
The result was a tentative estimate of 6 objects in combative state, 8 at static state and a maximum individual weights of 50 kilograms per object.
The control was smoother too. There were no more trembles.
She tried to launch the daggers towards the dummies.
As the daggers flew, she noticed that the strands of mental energy stopped surrounding the whole dagger and condensed at the back of the handle instead.
Thuck…Thuck…Thuck…
Nanzhi observed the decreased in her mental power. From 99, it became 93.
It seems like it will take one point for every dagger throw.
The six daggers hit all the dummies.
Nanzhi examined the depths of the hit and found out more than half of the dagger or 6 inches of it had sink in, a two inches improvement than before.
However, there was something bugging Nanzhi’s mind.
Nanzhi gave the daggers a deep look.
She tried again but this tried she made sure to not to let that strands gathered at the handle and remained it coating the whole dagger like a skin.
Now that her mental power had become tangible in her eyes, it was easier to practice and control it.
In her second attempt, the whole blade of the dagger sunk in.
[Mental Power: 91]
It was as if Nanzhi had discovered a whole new world.
She spend half an hour experimenting.
The daggers’ lethality increased and almost match the strength of handguns’ bullets.
Now, she wanted to practice without a medium or relying on another object.
Can her mental energy alone caused damage?
She tried to condensed them into small balls.
The first ten minutes was very hard because some of the condensed mental energy before it reaches the dummies either scattered or it slow down.
Nanzhi tried and tried to perfect until she exhausted her mental power and the result was gratifying.
She wiped the sweat dribbling from her scalp and looked at the blasted hole on the wooden dummies with satisfaction.
She reemerged on her bed.
Nanzhi had wanted to consume the memory fragment but her eyelids were getting heavy.

…..
Because she was exhausted last night from practicing, Nanzhi had woken up quite late and her mental energy had recovered.
She cleaned her face and brushed her teeth before leaving the bedroom.
When she strode to the living, she saw everyone was already in sofa and she could tell from their faces that they are about to tell her a bad news.
“The fog didn’t disappear.”
Nanzhi wasn’t a bit surprise.
She already expected it.
To prevent the other building from seeing anything, Nanzhi never wanted to use her balcony for observation.
Instead, she would always use the open window in the staircase.
Once she went outside of her unit, she instantly sensed that it was colder than before.
Nanzhi used the temperature sensor.
12 Degree Celsius was the number on the screen.
It was a cloudy day today. Although the fog became much thinner than last night, it didn’t disappear.
[Buffer Time: 1 day/ 15 hours /23 minutes]
There is really not much time left.
Nanzhi looked at Lin Weihao.
The latter had wanted to ask for helicopter to fetch them but because of the low visibility, it was dangerous to fly.
In addition, because they didn’t know the situation at the moment or how many wolves, Lin Weihao wouldn’t risk driving there.
He received reports this morning from Wang Chul.
The military sent released drones to investigate.
They found out that the fog affected the entire military region, encompassing the plant conservatory, the private compounds, and the commercial area where the military sells their surplus.
Early in the morning, while two jeeps were patrolling the area, they again caught sight of the wolves and got attacked.
Anyway, no matter what, it will be unavoidable for them to face the wolves.
All Nanzhi could do was prepare.
While they still had time, Nanzhi and the rest cleaned the building, removing all the source of the bad smell, and burned it.
Lin Weihao and Bingwen went to search for the main control room and to see if there are still surveillance cameras in the building that can still work.
After inspecting the place, they found nine of them and a set of undamaged computer. Nanzhi also gave them hers. It was from what she looted in the office of the Grand Hotel.
Bingwen took them down and assembled them in the strategic places.
Feng Ran and Hei Qian were in charge of blocking the possible entry points.
Nanzhi and Yu Baoyin were in the unit and tasked to make winter clothes.
She only had sets for women and it would definitely not fit the others.
She had to make alterations.
Yu Baoyin had graduated from bachelor of fine arts major in fashion design and apparel construction.
Therefore, she was more skilled than Nanzhi in terms of sewing.
The girl was very happy because she finally can show her skills in front of Nanzhi.
“Screw this Sister Nan! I want to make clothes for you instead!”
Nanzhi looked at Yu Baoyin and contemplated on her words. She remembered Lin Weihao’s story.
“Then, do you know how to make one from coyote pelts?” Clothes made from alien beast would have more defensive quality and it will be much warmer.
Coyote pelts?
Flabbergasted, Yu Baoyin immediately shook her head.
She only sewed synthetic fur fabric but never an actual animal fur.
She also couldn’t imagine herself turning an actual animal skin into clothes!
Nanzhi detected the struggle in Yu Baoyin’s eyes.
Instead of coyote pelts, Nanzhi went back to her bedroom and closed the door and came back with rolls of cotton fabric in her hands and showed her a manual sewing machine inside the utility room.
“That looks great!” Yu Baoyin’s eyes lit up. “But, Sister Nan, why do you have a sewing machine in your house. Do you like sewing too?”
“It’s from my Mom.” Nanzhi said.
“Oh!” Yu Baoyin became interested and she asked about her parents, only to realize that her question made her Sister Nan sad. “I’m sorry!”
“It’s okay.” Nanzhi nodded.
Nanzhi returned to her bedroom again and checked the cotton crops.
