Chapter 96: Reaping what they sow
An intense fight broke out early in the morning on the first checkpoint of the military base.

Four of the soldiers were in critical condition.

On the other side, the wolves had one casualty and five injured.

Following Lin Weihao’s order, Wang Chul had someone grabbed the wolf’s carcass before it was dragged away by the other wolves.

This wolf’s corpse was sent to the laboratory located underground.

Professor Zhang Heng, who was working on the husbandry area was called into the laboratory to see something.

The road towards Qianhe Mountain’s bomb shelter was full of mudslide.

“Don’t panic! Find something to like a torch and lit it up!” Someone spoke.

The survivors quickly did as their told and this includes the elderly couple.

Because there was a bonfire in the middle of the camp, they reached out for the burned firewood and waved it towards the large rats.

The large rats were visibly intimidated by the fire and they let go of the survivors.

The other survivors who weren’t harm helped those injured and treat their wounds with the wine.

“Come here, son!”

These people already known each other and had developed a strong bond under Chu Muwen’s tyranny.

Thus, they couldn’t turn a blind eye unlike those heartless people Gu Ling and Boss Kang.

In the morning, besides from helping them contact the authorities of the bomb shelter, Nanzhi and Lin Weihao said something to them.

They were told to arm themselves and be wary of aggressive animals on the way.

They fought against the rats using whatever they could get their hands while running towards the bomb shelter.

“What! This is unfair! We’re survivors too!”

The ones who became their victims last night scoffed and pointed their fingers on their faces.

Gu Ling glared and quickly refuted the person’s words. “They’re lying!”

“Shut up!” The soldiers didn’t have time to watch the drama unfold and only said to Gu Ling and the others.

“Anyone with criminal records of murder and any crimes punishable by the death penalty in the past or branded by criminal tattoo can’t enter the government bases.”

“If you enter the government base, you will have to be detained inside the prison!”

If it was the earlier days, he will detain them right away but now the number of security in the base is very low and they can’t keep an eye on all the prisoners.
