Chapter 66: CHAPTER 65 – The Real Problem.
Smooch
Alex’s lips kept kissing Sophie’s smooth neck, making her squirm comfortably in his arms, grinding her ass against his dick, which was now down after a lot of actions.
They were both lying naked on the same bed where they’d been wilding out for around half an hour. Thirty minutes were not much for them, but they decided to call it off as this wasn’t a time to keep going on. They could continue all of this in the night.
“So? Are you ready to talk now, love?” Alex finally questioned after a long peaceful silence, his palm still caressing her belly, playing with it, but his question was serious.
Sophie, on the other hand, kept staring at Alex’s hand on her belly, rubbing it with her own, feeling his warmth, closing her eyes, and staying like that for a while. Alex, feeling her body moving closer to himself in search of more comfort, let her be.
He wasn’t in a hurry, so he gave her the time she needed.
Rustle
Soon, lifting Alex’s palm from her stomach, Sophie turned around, placing it on her ass, which was instantly groped by Alex, making his fingers sink into them.
“Hmm~!”
She moaned a bit as the aftertaste of the last half hour was still fresh and her body was still stimulated, then soon, resting her head on his chest, she sighed.
“I went through your childhood memories…” Sophie spoke, her voice barely a whisper as she continued, “I never expected something like that.”
Her body trembled as she recalled the moments she had seen. The memories of being beaten by the same people who were supposed to be protecting him in the orphanage.
Sophie saw how Alex had his first kill. She felt what he was feeling at that time; she could still, by recalling, feel that suffocating feeling Alex had felt.
“I-I never knew…” Her eyes started to water again, but before she could continue, by pinching her chin, Alex forced her to look into his eyes, and looking at her teary face, he sighed, leaning forward and kissing her eyelids.
“Why are you getting sad about things from the past, Sophie?” He questioned her gently, his palm caressing her blonde hair. “I didn’t tell you to go through those memories to get you crying, love.”
Alex pulled her closer, hugging her tight; his hand, which was on her ass, started patting her back, but Sophie just sobbed silently.
“B-But still…” Her muffled words reached Alex’s ears as she added, “I regret never asking about your past.”
Sophie’s body trembled as she breathed, making Alex sigh.
Sophie had always seen Alex as an accomplished guy—someone with power and money. She loved him—it was because of his nature, not those two things—but she regretted never being able to know his weaker side.
She regretted never thinking about the things he must’ve gone through in order to become who he was when she met him.
“I always thought of you as a strong, dependable, and caring person.” Sophie’s voice broke as she went on. “I never saw the scars that were responsible for making you so—Sob.”
She had thought that maybe having sex would make it easier for him to talk, but it was still as hard.
“I-I was a bad girlfriend, wasn’t I?” Sophie’s head raised and her eyes red as she stared into Alex’s wide eyes, asking a question that terrified her the most.
What kind of girlfriend was she? Was she just someone who loved him for what he was? Just because he was strong and dependent?
Did she never care about who he really was and what he had been through?
She knew it was not like that. If it was, her heart wouldn’t be bleeding when she saw Alex in pain in those memories. If she was, then Alex wouldn’t be looking at her with the same disbelief he is right now.
But Sophie herself couldn’t call herself a good girlfriend. She was terrified just thinking about the time when Alex would say the same, but this time, Alex kissed her lips, stunning her on the spot.
‘Wha…’
For a second, her mind went blank, and as if realizing that, Alex hurriedly moved away and spoke.
“What kind of lover would be sad about his love looking up at him as if he were dependable, you dumb girl?” With a frown, he pinched her nose, making Sophie shrink back. “I am happy to know that you think that way.”

“A for your question about you being a bad girlfriend…” Alex’s expression softened as he continued, “You wouldn’t be crying right now if you were.”
As soon as those words were heard, the only thread stopping Sophie’s tears broke, and she hugged Alex tightly—tighter than ever—fearing that he would leave, sniffing as her tears stained Alex’s chest, making him shake his head with a sigh and pull her body into a warm embrace.
They stayed like that for a while, hugging each other. Even after Sophie had calmed down, they didn’t move. With their breaths matching paces, they just enjoyed the calm silence until Alex spoke.
“You know Sophie,” he began, his voice making Sophie look up at him. “When you said that you only saw the dependable, strong, and calm side of me, I was happy.”
He smiled as he stared down at her, making Sophie smile as well, and looking at her like that, he went on. “But the reason why you never saw the scars wasn’t because you were bad, but because a man never reveals his scars—his weaknesses—to anyone…”
He paused, his fingers tucking some strands of her hair behind her ears as he added, “…until he does.”
His words made Sophie’s lips tremble as she held her hand on her cheek, not saying a word as she knew he wasn’t done yet.
“So, don’t think of how you never saw my scars; just think of how you could heal them or tell me how good they look on me.” He touched his forehead with hers, looking into her eyes. “I would be the happiest man alive if my woman—one I showed my weakness to—were to not cry but think of ways to cover for my weaknesses.”
With those words, he kissed her lips again, but this time, it wasn’t one filled with lust or one that he was using to distract her—it was purely out of his love for her.
And Sophie, feeling his lips on hers, just closed her eyes, savoring the feeling, kissing him back with love equal to his.
She had now realized how foolish she was to even fear that he would think of her as a bad girlfriend.
Among the millions of women he had seen, she was the one he had chosen to be a part of his life; there was no way he would choose someone whom he saw as a bad girlfriend would be chosen by him.
So, with her mood all better now and her mind set on how she should live from now on, she continued to kiss him, but soon, both of them sensed something, and their eyes snapped open, a sharp light flashing past them as Sophie spoke, “Alex…”
She didn’t need to say anything else, as Alex already knew what it was, so with a nod to Sophie, he closed his eyes, only to open them back in his office, only to hear the door of his cabin smashed open.
