Chapter 67: CHAPTER 66 – Reganath Nemeanor.
A While Ago.
Sniffle
A man with long, fiery wild hair and blazing red eyes, patting the head of a girl who was lying with her head on his lap. The girl had tear stains on her cheeks, making it clear that she had cried a lot, especially since she was still sniffling in her sleep.
‘Alex Drakathor…’
The man’s eyes flashed with cryptic light as he thought of the name of the boy responsible for his daughter’s situation, making him grit his teeth.
The man’s large build—unlike Theron’s wall-like build, he is bulky—trembled as he gently kept caressing the girl’s hair, which was in a shade strikingly similar to his. She was his one and only daughter after all.
It was Zahara Nemeanor, and the man was the king of the Simharian kingdom, Reganath Nemeanor.
Right now, with much effort, he had been able to put Zahara to sleep; this girl just kept crying after all. It was clear how much she was suffering.
Clench
The moment he thought about it was the moment the sound of a fist being clenched was heard in the room as the air around the man trembled.
“Umm…”
But the next instant, Zahara, feeling the tension in the air, moaned in discomfort, making Reganath’s eyes go wide as he hurriedly waved his hand, making the air around him return back to how it was supposed to, and with a gentle movement, he laid Zahara on a mattress that magically appeared on the floor.
“Just sleep, princess.”
He muttered under his breath, his voice deep and heavy, making his words come out indiscernible, but he never spoke those words to be heard.
Rustle
Then, with a blanket appearing in his hands, he covered Zahara with it before he turned around, getting ready to leave.
‘My princess cried again…’ He kept repeating those words in his head as he moved toward the gate with light and measured steps, not wanting to make any noise, but just then…
“Alex…”
Reganath’s steps paused, and his expression froze the moment he heard that one word leaving his daughter’s lips. He turned back, only to see Zahara coiled up under the blanket, gripping it tight as a drop of tears slipped down her eyes.
She felt cold even under that mana-enhanced blanket, which could make people survive in the coldest temperatures…
Reganath just stared at the scene in silence before he walked out of the cabin, closing the door gently, not wanting to make any sound. He glanced through the gap between the door and the wall, looking at his daughter, and soon…
Click
The door got locked from the inside—an automatic function.
Dun
The moment it happened, though, was the moment his mana ran amok, shaking the entire council building.
‘HOW DARE HE?!’
He finally couldn’t control his expression as a bloodthirsty look appeared on his face. The floor, as if scared of him, shook violently, and the air around him turned heavy. He was limiting his aura, but if someone, by mistake, stepped close to him, they would instantly be crushed by the pressure.
‘He thinks he can just walk away after making my daughter cry?!’
BOOM!
His fist crashed into the wall opposite Zahara’s cabin, making the whole wall disappear with a boom, alerting everyone present in the council building and the surroundings. This was the moment Alex woke up.

The student council building was placed on the fifth peak, and although it was in a secluded area, a sound this loud would of course be heard by others on the peak, especially when the fifth peak is supposed to be the busiest peak.
‘I promised to never let her cry. I promised to Zilda!!’
He roared on the inside, not wanting to make any noise, fearing that Zahara might wake up, even though he knew that the council members’ room had sound insulation from both sides.
Reganath forgot that the boom from his punch was loud as well, or maybe he was unable to control his fist, but he didn’t want to repeat the same mistake by making more noise.
The next second, however, his fierce aura vanished, replaced by melancholy. “Zilda…” He whispered as he stared at the black band on his right wrist, gritting his teeth as he recalled the promise he had made in front of his first love’s grave.
Zahara’s mother, Zilda, had died giving birth to her, never knowing the truth about Reganath being the king of the Simharian Kingdom.
In loss and regret of not being able to give her the love and care she deserved, Reganath took a vow in front of her grave with Zahara in his arms.
“I would never let Zahara suffer in her life—not while I still breathe. If a single drop of tears were to drop down her cheeks, I would make the one responsible for it suffer more. I give you my word.”
That was all he had said, but he was determined to follow through on his promise, and that was why, even though Zahara was not the rightful princess, she was still treated as a princess, even crowned to take up the throne after him.
‘Yet…’
Reganath’s fists clenched as he recalled the crying face of his daughter. He could still feel her arms hugging his as tight as they could.
‘My girl can’t even sleep comfortably…’ His body quaked as he recalled the word that had left Zahara’s lips before.
‘All because of him…’
Reganath breathed in fury, his chest rising up and down as he spoke his name again, “Alex Drakathor…”
He knew who Alex was. Very few didn’t know about Vanessa Drakathor. She was a woman who even his father feared, but that didn’t mean he would cower in fear as well. Not when it came to his daughter.
It was his fear that had stopped him from getting Zilda to his kingdom. It was this same fear that was responsible for his love’s death. There was no way he would let this fear win again.
Still fuming, he spread his senses, scanning the entire area for Alex, and he soon found him, so with a cold light flashing past his eyes, he rushed toward Alex’s cabin, his speed so fast that it seemed like he had disappeared from there.
Just as he disappeared, some people came running there, including Theron and Fenna. They had rushed out of their cabins the moment they felt the pressure dissipate, and although it hadn’t even been a second since then, they were just across the hall, so they arrived here quickly, and the others were the teachers who were supposed to be guarding the building.
“What’s going on here?”
Theron questioned as he stared at the large gap in the wall. It was healing slowly, but just the fact that the wall was broken meant something. It was something that no star formation realm person could break, after all.
“We will look into it.”
The two teachers, with serious looks on their faces, nodded their heads, disappearing from there before Theron could even say something, making his eyes flash coldly.
Those teachers were supposed to wait for his orders, but they didn’t.
“Is it because of the thing we needed to talk with Alex about?” Fenna from the side, wearing a frown, questioned, making Theron nod his head.
“Yes,” he answered before he turned around and added, “We need to call for reinforcements in case they aren’t enough to deal with whatever is happening right now.”
They couldn’t trust those teachers anymore. They needed to do something on their own.
Even Fenna, always jumpy, knew how serious this situation was. She didn’t know what had happened and how the gap appeared in the wall, but the one responsible for that couldn’t be some well-wisher of theirs.
So, with a nod, she rushed to call for other teachers, maybe fourth-year teachers, to look at the situation.
‘Alex, be safe…’
She muttered inwardly as Alex’s face, for some reason flashed past her eyes. But then she paused.
‘Should I go see him…?’ A question appeared in Fenna’s head, making it hard for her to decide as calling for help was also important.
Alex, on the other hand, was being grabbed by his neck, his back pressed against the wall as he stared down into Reganath’s eyes without a hint of fear in his eyes.
