Chapter 75: CHAPTER 74 – Academy Patrol 2.
Alex, searching for Zahara, came to the place she stays most of the time—the academy patrol headquarters.
Creak
But the moment he walked through the door to the main hall, or the main office, where every file related to the crimes committed and the way to the big prison and the cells is, he was surprised to see two people he knew very well.
‘Thorin…’ One of them was the dwarf he had made a deal with, the one he was going to use on a later date, and the other, ‘Ben Dover…’
But the moment he muttered those words inwardly, a teasing remark from Sophie was hurled at him.
[You’re saying that to me?]
‘…’
Alex was left speechless for a moment. Why was he being teased because of another guy’s name, but he was soon to counter, ‘Yeah, you better ‘Ben Dover’ better tonight, ’cause I’m gonna slap that cheeky ass of yours a lot.’
Sophie, in response, just giggled, making Alex shake his head before he voiced out his inquiry, “What’s going on here?”
He could see the people in the room tense the moment they heard his voice with Ben, for some reason, being on high alert, making Alex frown.
‘What’s with him?’ Thought Alex, staring at Ben for a second before his eyes turned to Thorin, who, after seeing him here, had a change in his expression three times, making Alex almost chuckle out loud.
At first, he seemed relieved, then, as if realizing something, his expression turned uncertain before he finally just sighed, resigning to his fate.
“Sir!”
It was then that the captain, who was the first one to break out of his surprise, saluted Alex, his body tense as he wasn’t expecting this sudden visit from the second seat of the student council, a spot he could only look up to.
“Good evening, sir!” X3
Soon, the three cadets, who were all laughing at Thorin a second ago, bowed their heads as well. Unlike the captain, who wasn’t just the footworker of the student council, they had to bow while greeting a pillar of the student council.
No matter who one is in the real world, once they are in the academy, they must follow the rules—this is what people have always believed in.
So, no matter who it would’ve been instead of Alex, even if a commoner were to take up the position of the second seat, they would receive the same treatment.
“At ease,” Alex asserted, his gaze focused on the captain as he saw something he was pretty familiar with, held by him. “So? What’s going on?”
“Sir,” nodding to Alex, the captain respectfully passed the contract sheet he was holding on to him and continued, “One of our cadets found this guy trying to sell a forged contract with your signature on it.”
“Hmm…” Alex, upon receiving the contract, looked through it, and as he had guessed…
‘It is the contract I gave him.’ He hummed on the inside, glancing at Thorin, who, after having resigned to his fate, didn’t care about what Alex thought of all of this, just growled, “It’s good that you’re here.”
“Tell them that it was you who gave me that contract, and tell them that it was me who made the voting device—” Not even looking into Alex’s eyes, he just waved his hand arrogantly, and the captain, who saw all this, finally snapped, cutting him off mid-sentence.
“Shut up, you bastard!” The captain roared in panic, not wanting to be blamed for the blatant disrespect committed by a criminal toward the second seat of the council, and without even looking at Alex, he rushed at Thorin. “Just because we laugh at you and let you get off easily, you think you can just do whatever you want?!”
The captain raised his fist, almost hitting Thorin, who, although aware of the fact that he was about to get hit and hurt, didn’t even flinch. But before the punch could land, the captain was stopped.
“Stop,” Alex raised his palm, making the captain freeze in his spot. ‘Did this bastard anger Alex Drakathor?’ He gritted his teeth, turning toward Alex, ready to apologize in Thorin’s place, but Alex’s next words shocked him and everyone in the hall.
“This contract is real, and I did sell him the rights to sell the voting machine.”
The moment those words were heard, the air in the hall stilled in shock; even Ben froze. That guy had many things going on in his head, but this turn of events still shocked him.
‘Wasn’t Alex supposed to be some evil bastard…?’ He frowned inwardly, unsure of what was going on, but for some reason, he felt like the words Keryu had spoken to him weren’t all that right.
After all, Keryu said that Alex was the most vile of all the student council members, but why does he not seem evil at all? Why did he seem like a guy with morals and principles?

“Hah! See?!” Thorin, on the other hand, finally exclaimed, knowing that it was his time to shine. He walked up to Alex, and under the disbelieving eyes of the captain and the cadets, he put his arm around Alex’s shoulder and added, “We are old friends. This contract is just one of the deals we made.”
‘This guy…’ Alex, hearing what Thorin said, just raised a brow in mild disbelief. He knew that Thorin was shameless, but this was just on a new level.
‘Is this guy trying to use my name to save himself from future crimes?’ He chuckled inwardly. Alex was sure that Thorin didn’t know that once he had made his connection with Alex clear, he would be under stricter observation, as now his actions would be linked with Alex’s, who is the second seat of the student council.
The captain and the cadets were still not out of shock when Thorin’s action put them in a deeper one, making their minds go in a spiral.
‘We were laughing at him a second ago…’ They felt embarrassed just thinking about it.
‘Is this what face-slapping from those new novels means?’ They wondered inwardly before they quickly shook their heads, looking at Alex with their heads tilted slightly.
They were too ashamed to even ask what to do, so they just stared at Alex with a respectful yet confused gaze, making Alex speak in reply, “You can mark his case as solved. I will be taking him out of here.”
“Yes, sir.”
The captain, with a salute, received his orders, and after glancing at Thorin one last time, he started to see to it that the case related to Thorin was closed.
“Come. I need to talk to you.” Alex then turned to look at Thorin, expressing his desire to talk to him, but Thorin, for some reason, didn’t want that.
Whenever he talked to Alex, he felt like he wouldn’t be able to hide anything, something he wasn’t very comfortable about.
“Sorry, but I have somewhere to be—” Trying to deny the invitation, he moved away, but Alex spoke again, his voice assertive, leaving no ounce of doubt or request in it: “I want to talk to you.”
Thorin, hearing those words, just gritted his teeth, and knowing that there was no way to avoid it, just sighed.
“…Alright.” He nodded his head, walking ahead with his shoulders slumped, followed by Alex, but before he left, Alex turned around.
Pointing at Ben, who, seeing him turn, hurriedly avoided his eyes, Alex instructed, “That boy seemed to have something to report, and it seems urgent, so one of you should look into it.”
“Yes, sir.” The captain saluted again, “Have a nice day.”
“You too,” Alex replied with a smile before walking out of the room.
His words surprised Ben since he hadn’t said anything, much less tell anyone what his purpose here was, but he didn’t voice out his surprise and only looked up after he was sure that Alex had left, moving toward the cadet who had already picked up the log book to write his complaint.
No one knew just how big this complaint was just yet, but soon, a new wave was about to rise.
