Chapter 77: CHAPTER 76 – The Date 1.
Originveil City is a big city with ten floating islands. All these islands are called peaks and are connected to each other with a wide road made of some unknown metal that is strong enough to withstand any kind of attack from anyone.
These paths are at least 20 meters wide and the only way to traverse from one peak to another other than through the teleportation gates.
As for what those 10 peaks were for, well, 5 of them were part of Academy City, mostly used by the students but not limited to their use.
The other five peaks were the places where the real Originveil City was.
Among the five peaks of the Originveil City, one was for normal people to live—the ones who belonged here or were born here, or the ones who were here to trade for some time. It was the market peak, with the best quality products present here.
Only the ones who were permitted by the authorities of the Originveil City—also known as the vice-principles of the Originveil Academy—are allowed here. Every single one of them is observed for a long time before being permitted to get up here.
The second peak in the city was for the headquarters of several big and famous organizations such as the Assassins Guild, Adventurers Guild, Merchant Association, etc.
The third was for entertainment, comprising many things such as slave markets, auction halls, and many other things. There were such things on the fifth peak of the academy city as well, but all of those were just branches of these ones, and they were a bit less severe than the ones in the main city.
The fourth peak was the peak where the leaders of different races—emperors and rulers—resided. They are the ones who sit at the top of the food chain.
And then, finally, there’s the fifth peak, the one that is filled with nothing but flora and fauna. It is a forest, mostly known as a hunting and training zone for students, but is also the place where the rarest of all the beasts in the world reside.
Right now, Alex and Zahara were walking toward that same peak, as that was where Alex had decided to take Zahara on a date—something Zahara was very excited about.
Zahara was a Simharian, and although her race was more leaned toward human features having human features as well, they all still had their beastly instincts intact. They liked the chaos of the jungle more than the bustling cities.
“Hm~ Hm~ Hm~.”
That was the reason why, right now, with her arm coiled around Alex’s and her head resting on his shoulder, Zahara was happily humming a tone with a smile on her face.
Even if this was just a normal outing with her doing nothing other than roaming around with Alex, she would love it better than anything she had done. She could be alone with Alex without anyone interrupting them, after all.
[Looks like she’s enjoying this already.]
Sophie, looking at everything while lying on the bed inside the dream space, commented with a giggle as her legs waved around, curiously looking at everything, wondering what Alex had planned.
Alex had asked Sophie to not use her power to know what he was doing and had also asked her to not see or hear anything for a whole day before today. He was preparing something, or so was what he had told her.
‘Well, she’s just too easy to satisfy,’ Alex commented inwardly, breaking free from Zahara’s grasp, making her frown in confusion, letting out a “Hm?” but the next second, a happy smile marred her face as she leaned closer to Alex’s chest.
‘But that doesn’t mean I will not try my best to make her experience better.’ Alex completed his words, his arms around Zahara’s waist, pulling her closer—something Zahara loved very much.
There was this comforting silence between them as they kept walking toward the forest, and Alex, who had used his darkness veil to make both himself and Zahara vanish from everyone’s sight under the cover of the flare, had already removed the veil, walking freely as there was rarely anyone who came to visit this peak, unless and until an event was being held.
The people flock to the area like ants on any event conducted on the fifth peak; they love such things, including violent fights and competition after all.
And soon, they reached the forest.
Woop-Woop
Chirp-Chirp
The calls of different types of beasts and birds could be heard clearly, along with the natural scent of greenery hitting their nose, making them feel the calmness of the surroundings even with all the hoots and chirps they could hear.
Whoosh
The wind—sometimes violent, sometimes calm, just like the nature of the forest—made the trees rustle as the sun shone brightly in the sky, making rays of sunlight get filtered by the same high and dense trees.
Without even realizing it, both Alex and Zahara found themselves sitting under one such tree, enjoying the warmth and shade at the same time, making them recall the bittersweet memories of their past banters.
“You were just so bad back then…” muttered Zahara as she leaned on his shoulder with her cheeks puffed, remembering the times when Alex used to shoot her down every day in front of so many people.

“Like you are the one to talk,” chuckled Alex in response as he recalled how, at everything she could think of, she would start yelling at him. “You sued to bring up the most pointless arguments there could be.”
He rested his head on Zahara’s as he spoke, but Zahara, hearing his words, just grumbled more, pinching his arms. “Was there any other way for me to talk to you?”
“Alright, alright,” Alex admitted, sighing in defeat, making it look like he was feeling the pain from her pinched, which Zahara clearly knew he wasn’t, as he raised his free hand in surrender, speaking in an exaggerated tone, “I admit my wrongdoings, Your Highness.”
It had just been a week since their relationship had improved, and although it was not a long time, to them, the moment when they used to argue felt like a distant memory that wasn’t the best, a part of their memories of them nonetheless.
Those words and the tone, however, incited a giggle from Zahara as she playfully hit his arms before she sighed as well. “I just enjoy being with you, you know.”
It was a random and out-of-nowhere type of line, but that was just one of Zahara’s traits; she was random sometimes, and Alex knew that, so he just hummed in agreement, enjoying the time for a while, closing his eyes just like Zahara, drifting into a short nap.
Zahara, in excitement that she was going on a date with Alex, had not been able to sleep the whole last night. She just kept thinking about how she was going to spend her time with Alex the whole night, and that was why, when she felt the comfort of being close to Alex, she was the first to fall asleep.
And the moment her breaths evened was the moment Alex’s electric blue eyes opened, and the next second, a small squirrel-like beast appeared in front of him, staring at him with its black marble-like pure eyes.
“Hara?” Alex, wanting to know if Zahara was really asleep or not, used the pet name she had told him to use when they were alone, knowing full well that if she were awake, then there was no way she wouldn’t respond to this.
Even if she didn’t, her body would become jumpy, but nothing like that happened, so with his eyes squinted, he turned to the squirrel and spoke, “Not right now. I will send the signal. Go inform them.”
Chi-Chi!
With its chest puffed, the cute squirrel-like beast made a salute gesture before it rushed into the bushes, going to relay the message to the others, leaving Alex in the spot, contemplating the best time to send them the signal while also caressing Zahara’s face with his other hand, making her squirm comfortably with a smile, still asleep.
