Chapter 81: CHAPTER 80 – Second Member of Harem.
“I don’t care. I still love you; maybe I love you more now.”
This was all Zahara said with a genuine smile after knowing everything about Alex. She now knew about his dream world, Sophie, and even the fact that she was now bound by his system was taken lightly by her.
“You wouldn’t want to hurt me, I know.” This was all she said when she heard Alex ask about her opinion of the system’s seal.
“Why would you need to go to such lengths if you wanted to harm me?” This was all she asked, giggling at her own words. She knew that if Alex wanted to, he could just kill her, and by using his mother’s power, he could even make her father’s kingdom submit to himself.
Zahara was well aware of the power difference.
And when asked what she thought about Sophie, her reply again surprised both Alex and Sophie.
“Hm? Well, I know that strong men are supposed to have more than one woman—that’s how it has always been in our kingdom. If a man is capable of keeping and protecting them, he can have as many women as he wants.”
Yes, she did say that it would take her some time to get comfortable around Sophie, but now that she had a system interface of her own and connection with Sophie, which made it possible for her to talk with Sophie just like Alex, Zahara also added that it wouldn’t be long before they became close like real sisters.
But there was still one last question Alex had asked, one that, for him, mattered the most: “What do you think about Sophie being my first love?”
It is well known that in a harem, every woman would want to be the first of their lover; if not, they feel a bit disappointed. But Zahara’s reply again made them sigh in relief, thanking God for making Zahara so simple.
“First love? What about it? I can just become the one who is loved the most, so it doesn’t matter who came first.”
Zahara sounded pretty confident when she said that, making Sophie chuckle a bit, feeling challenged, but no one felt it aggressive.
Everything was now solved, and Alex, with everything told to Zahara, finally had the weight on his shoulders vanish.
Right now, with their eyes open, stark awake, both Zahara and Alex were staring at each other, looking deep in the eyes, red and blue getting mixed. None of them said a single word, letting the calming and anticipative silence stay like that.
The sound of the insects could still be heard, and so was the sound of some animals and birds—the surroundings were still the same. They were still sitting in the clearing, breathing the fresh air, and feeling the cold breeze that would eventually brush past them, making them inadvertently move closer and closer in search of heat.
“Alex…”
“Hara…”
Soon, their temples were pressed against each other as Zahara sat on Alex’s lap, still staring into his eyes, her breath growing longer and deeper, her modest chest heaving in front of Alex’s eyes.
No one knew when she moved on his lap, but blamed the cold wind for it. She was just looking for warmth, and now, with her eyes focused on Alex’s lips, she couldn’t help but recall the kiss they shared before sleeping.
“Hah…” Zahara breathed, her warm breath trickling past Alex’s lips, making them twitch. “You don’t have anything else stopping you… right?”
Her question hung through the air, which was slowly getting heavy with heated tension.
Zahara wasn’t scared of Alex’s answer anymore. She now knew that instead of doubting his love for her and hesitating how to reject her, Alex was just concerned about keeping her in the dark about so many things.
This was something that made her fall for him all over again. And she had been feeling tingly ever since, wanting to just mate with him. She didn’t even need an answer anymore, as she knew what he felt for her. No man would tell just anyone about things no one was privy to.
Zahara could feel that she was special just with that.
“Yes…” Alex, with his arms snaking around Zahara’s waist, pulled her closer, his lips moving close to hers as he whispered, “But there’s one thing I need to tell you.”
His eyes were deep and sincere, making Zahara feel a strange nervousness creeping up in her heart. She knew that it wasn’t something to worry about and just something he wanted to remind her about, or maybe tell her something about, but the depth in his eyes made her anxious.
Time seemed to have slowed down for her as she saw his lips move, her eyes shutting tightly, as her grip behind Alex’s neck tightened.
“I love you, Hara,” spoke Alex, his palm gently clutching Zahara’s waist, feeling her body jerk the moment he said those words.
Zahara’s eyes snapped open, her gaze trembling. The expression on her face was frozen for a second before tears welled up in her eyes, her lips quivering.
She knew he loved her. She was sure of it. There was no way she wouldn’t believe it. But hearing it and just knowing it was two different things—especially when you had longed to hear those words coming out of someone’s mouth.

Her lips quivered, and her tense body shifted ever so slightly on Alex’s lap. “Can… can you… say it again?”
Her breath hitched as she looked into Alex’s eyes with her teary gaze, making him pull her body closer, hugging her tightly as he repeated his words with love and care in his voice. “I love you, Hara.”
Sniff
Zahara, smiling with tears threatening to flow down her cheeks, held back purely out of her willpower because she didn’t want Alex’s promise to her father to break. She didn’t want her man to be proven as a liar in just a week because of her.
“Again…?” Her voice broke, feeling Alex’s hold on her tighten more as he repeated his words again. “I love you, Hara.”
“One… more time?”
“I love you, Hara.”
…
..
.
Zahara kept on asking him to repeat it again and again, and Alex, with patience, care, and love, kept repeating it as many times as she wanted, not once objecting.
He still wasn’t sure if he loved her completely like Sophie, but he was sure that it wouldn’t be long before he would really love her. She was one of the better characters in the novel, and now she is in his life.
Alex knew that Zahara would never disappoint him, not after he saw her reactions to his secrets—something he didn’t even doubt as she spoke all of those in his dream space, a place where no one could lie to him.
Finally, after repeating those words, who knows how many times, he could see a smile on Zahara’s face as she rubbed her body on his, her cheeks rosy, and her breaths hitched. “I love you too, Alex. I love you more than anything. I love everything about you. Your looks. Your voice. Your eyes. Your hair—”
With a strange light in her eyes, she went on, not stopping at all, saying everything that came to her mind, only stopping when Alex’s lips caught hers, making her eyes widen momentarily before thinning in glee.
Smooth-Slurp
The sound of them sucking on each other’s lips was all they could hear; the chirps of birds and calls of insects were not perceivable anymore—only the heat in each other’s bodies mattered to them right now.
They were again unable to feel the gaze of Elaria, whom Alex had sent away the moment he woke up, growing in confusion as she couldn’t understand what they were doing.
It was then that both Alex and Zahara, who were about to get more heated in the forest, had their noses twitch, a sharp glint flashing past their eyes as they tensed.
‘The scent of blood…’
They could both, with their sharp senses, smell it, making them exchange a glance before they rushed to the source of it. The heat in their bodies diminished as they hurriedly moved, wanting to know what was happening.
