Chapter 82: CHAPTER 81 – Being Watched?
“Elaria…”
Alex spoke the first thing that came to his mind the moment his eyes landed on two twisted mess of humans, barely recognizable due to most of their features broken or torn apart by thick, green veins protruding out of the ground.
He was sure that this was Elaria’s work because he knew that only she had this type of ability—the ability to manipulate flora to this extent. She was one of the heroines with a special backstory after all.
“It was the stag?” Zahara, not in the least bothered by the bloody and gory scene in front of her, questioned curiously, feeling that this stag really was something special.
She had felt it the moment she first saw her, but that stag had a different light in her eyes. She had a strange humane feeling to her, even though she was just a beast.
“Yes,” replied Alex, his gaze fixed on the humans as he frowned. “They are probably sent by ‘them’.”
“Those bastards…” Zahara growled the moment she heard his words, reminded of something really unpleasant before she muttered under her breath, “How dare they destroy my moment…”
She was gritting her teeth, her fists clenched and killing intent flashing past her eyes; it was as if she wanted to kill those dead guys again, hundreds of times, but the next moment, her body relaxed as she felt Alex patting her head.
“They probably weren’t going to attack…” Alex muttered under his breath.
Snap
But the moment he heard the sound of a twig snapping and rustling of bushes, he added, “But it’s fine. They weren’t friendly after all.”
He could feel Elaria’s gaze, and he knew that if she found out that she had killed someone without a reason, she would be shaken.
No matter how swift she was in killing the humans, she did so while thinking that they were enemies, and if she—who thought of killing as a not-so-pleasant thing—were to find out that was not the case, of course, she would feel bad about it.
But Alex was sure that with the words—in a voice louder than normal—he had added, she wouldn’t feel bad anymore.
“Won’t this alert them, though?” Zahara questioned all of a sudden, making Alex nod with a contemplative frown.
“That’s what I’m thinking as well,” Alex hummed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “But this is for the better.”
“They won’t try anything funny for a while.” Still rubbing Zahara’s head, Alex estimated, “At least around a week or more.”
“So, it’s a good thing?” Zahara, confused, tilted her head, a cute frown sitting between her brows, making Alex chuckle.
“Yes and no,” he replied. “The good thing is that they would be cautious for a while, not making a move just like last time, but…”
Ignoring the corpses entangled in veins, walking past them, pulling Zahara along as he completed his sentence, “They will be coming with more forcefully after that.”
A sharp light flashed past his eyes as he recalled the meeting in which all the council members had discussed matters related to this group. It was the meeting Theron had called the day Reganath had killed the teachers—something Zahara apologized for again and again.
This group didn’t have a name—it wasn’t even a group. It was a group of teachers—the ones who are related to the student council in many ways—gathered under someone with a lot of authority in the academy in order to steal the businesses the student council was running.
‘It wasn’t supposed to happen this soon…’ Alex recalling the plot, in which all of this had happened way later in the story, muttered to himself, pulling Zahara closer, hugging her waist, making the girl smile in joy, pressing her body more on him.
‘But I guess it’s better if I deal with all of them now than later.’ Thinking for a while, he just shrugged. These people were annoying, and because it involved a lot of fourth-year teachers, they were strong as well, but that didn’t mean Alex couldn’t deal with them. It would just take more effort.
Those two third-year teachers—the ones who were killed by Reganath—were part of this syndicate, trying to sabotage the student council at any given chance, and that was precisely why Alex didn’t care about their deaths in the least. They were rats that needed to be removed anyway.
‘As for their backer…’ A cold glint passed through Alex’s eyes as he thought about it.
“Alex, can we kiss again?” It was then that Zahara, walking with her body pressed on Alex, suddenly asked, licking her lips, but Alex just sighed helplessly at that.
“We can, but let’s not do it right now.” They had to stop twice when they were kissing, and not taking it as a good sign, Alex wanted to not try it again, but as he saw Zahara pouting, he added gently, “We can have a long kiss once we reach your mansion.”
Zahara’s eyes brightened the moment she heard those words. Nodding her head with a wide smile, she began humming another joyous tune, completely forgetting about the corpses and the upcoming conflict.
She left all those things for Alex to take care of, as she knew he was more than capable of doing it. If before Zahara thought that Alex was strong, now she believes that Alex could do the impossible, especially with the mysterious system at his aid.

What none of them knew was that all of the things that had happened today were being observed by someone they would’ve never guessed.
Even Sophie was a bit surprised at first, but in the end, she decided to not worry much about it since she didn’t think the one who was observing everything through a small projection device attached to Zahara’s uniform had any ill intentions toward Alex.
On the other side of the projection device, which worked like a mini camera, placed on the top-most button in Zahara’s coat, was none other than a girl with purple hair and eyes that matched.
With her palms under her chin, she kept looking at everything unfolding, her expression changing many times, but she kept watching.
‘Will he do the same for me?’ This was what she thought when she saw the enchanting view Alex had prepared for Zahara. Not for a second she got curious about what kind of ability made it possible for him to control the beasts, birds, and incest to such an extent, only wondering if he would do the same for her.
‘K-Kiss?!’ Her eyes widened a bit when she saw Alex’s lips moving closer to Zahara’s. She couldn’t see anything as the device was connected to the coat, but she could hear the slurping sound clearly, making her clench her fists.
It was then, at the moment she saw the hesitant expression on Alex’s face, a thought flashed past her head just like Zahara’s: Is he going to reject her again?
And unlike Zahara, she wasn’t panicking or anxiously trying to avoid it; she tried to listen calmly, only to be left confused.
‘What was Alex talking about? Why did he sleep all of a sudden?’ These were the only questions left in her mind at the end.
She could make sense of everything; she could ignore the kiss as well—no matter how much it pained her heart—but those two things were not something she could wrap her head around.
But before she could ponder for long, she saw both of them waking up and kissing each other again. All she could do was close her eyes and take a deep breath, still not closing the projection, as she wanted to know if they would be taking things forward as well.
Thankfully, they didn’t.
However, something much more concerning came up.
‘It’s them again…’ She took a deep breath as she, just like Alex, knew everything that was going on with the teachers. She just didn’t have the power to move against them, so she kept quiet about it.
In the end, as she watched Alex leave after a short kiss with Zahara, she got up from her desk, closed the projection, and jumped on her bed, stuffing her head in the pillow.
Turning back toward the ceiling, she touched her lips. ‘Will I ever be able to do that?’ She wondered as the image of Alex’s lips appeared in her mind, a blush creeping her fair cheeks before she shook her head violently.
“Dummy…” She muttered as she covered her face with a pillow.
It was, of course, someone Alex knew very well—the eldest daughter of the demon lord, Lilia Morningstar.
