Chapter 412: Chapter 412: A Blessing from the Goddess
After the misunderstanding between Life Keeper and Luca was resolved,

the two of them immediately began preparing for the complete annihilation of the Ancient Gods.

Life Keeper’s plan to eliminate the Ancient Gods was actually very simple.

Since Primal Power and Chaos Power were entirely opposed to one another,

as long as there was a strong enough surge of Chaos Power, the Primal Power would be utterly crushed.

And as the embodiment of Primal Power, the Ancient Gods could naturally be dismantled just as easily.

“So what exactly are we going to do?

Are you planning to flush my brain with overwhelming Chaos Power?”

Luca asked, a bit uneasy.

Although he knew that Life Keeper wasn’t his enemy—at least for the time being—

he had never forgotten that Life Keeper was still a subordinate deity of the Chaos pantheon.

In a certain sense, Life Keeper’s bond with Zenobia was much closer than any connection it had with him.

“I understand your concern.

I won’t be flooding your brain directly with Chaos Power.

Instead, I’ll start by wrapping your body in an abundance of plant life.”

As Life Keeper spoke, the plant vines that had previously been reduced to ash by Luca’s flame magic runes

suddenly sprang back to life.

These vines once again enveloped Luca.

“Relax.

The Chaos Power will gradually enter your body through these vines.

The purpose of this Chaos Power is to drive the Ancient Gods out of your body.

After that, what remains is simply a battle.”

As Luca listened to Life Keeper’s words,

he could also feel the Chaos Power seeping into his body.

He had to admit—this Chaos Power was very different from the kind Zenobia wielded.

Life Keeper’s Chaos Power was much gentler.

Zenobia’s, on the other hand, was filled with savagery and madness.

As the Chaos Power continued to flow in,

he could clearly sense his condition improving at a remarkable pace.

“There’s no need to thank me.

This is simply my duty.”

Life Keeper’s voice came soon after.

“You can read my thoughts?”

Luca asked in disbelief.

“My power has entered directly into your mind,

so yes, I can see your thoughts with perfect clarity.

But don’t worry—

I won’t be prying into any of your secrets.”

Life Keeper quickly offered an explanation.

It didn’t want Luca to get the wrong idea.

“If I want to access the deepest secrets of your mind, I’ll have to completely purge your brain with the power of Chaos. Once I do that, you’ll know it instantly.”

Life Keeper’s explanation wasn’t enough to completely convince Luca.

He still remained slightly on guard.

Just then, a furious roar echoed through Luca’s mind—

It was the Ancient Gods.

“You damned insects! What the hell are you doing?! How dare you use such filthy power to desecrate my sacred body!”

The Ancient Gods had been completely awakened under the stimulation of the Chaos power.

But under these circumstances, it could neither control Sophia’s consciousness nor take over Luca’s body.

“If you don’t want to be tainted by the power of Chaos, then get the hell out of my brain!” Luca said coldly.

“You foolish mortal! Collaborating with those doomed insects—your stupidity has surpassed even the wildest limits of my imagination!”

The Ancient Gods continued to mock Luca.

Yet behind the mockery, it was also subtly implying that the Life Keeper was not to be trusted.

In truth, the Ancient Gods were trying to manipulate Luca into siding with them.

“Enough with the useless talk. Until the moment you leave my mind, you’re my only enemy!”

Luca wasn’t an idiot. How could he possibly fall for such childish tricks?

The Ancient Gods had no choice left. In the end, it could only turn into a massive torrent of Primal Power, failing to escape from Luca’s mind.

The moment the Ancient Gods left, the vines and branches surrounding Luca’s body quickly withdrew.

“We absolutely cannot let it escape.”

By now, the Life Keeper had completely merged with the vines and trees, forming a massive treant that blotted out the sky.

Naturally, Luca agreed with the Life Keeper’s judgment.

No matter what, he had to defeat the Ancient Gods.

So after adjusting his state ever so slightly, he moved forward, following the enormous treant.

“It wasn’t lying.”

As they advanced, Sophia’s weak voice emerged in Luca’s mind.

“What are you saying? Who wasn’t lying?”

Luca was slightly confused.

“Life Keeper. It wasn’t lying. It didn’t try to extract your mind’s deepest secrets.

It really was just using Chaos power to fight the Ancient Gods.”

Sophia’s words finally dissolved the last bit of doubt still lingering in Luca’s heart.

“I understand! I’ll work with it in full unity to defeat the Ancient Gods.

And who knows, maybe I’ll even get my hands on the remnants of the Ancient Gods’ body.”

He had already made up his mind to use this battle as an opportunity to gain massive rewards.

The massive treant marched forward for less than a quarter of an hour before coming to a halt.

“It’s hiding underground! I’ll use the roots of the plants to drag it out.

After that, all we need to do is completely destroy it!”

Life Keeper laid out its plan.

Luca nodded in agreement.

The enormous treant stomped down, crushing the ground beneath it.

A massive network of plant roots began spreading downward at lightning speed.

The Ancient Gods, hiding deep beneath the surface, was eventually ensnared by the roots.

With a thunderous crash, the Ancient Gods—along with countless plant roots—was flung back up to the surface.

It was only at this moment that Luca could finally see the Ancient Gods’ true form in the real world.

Wrapped in the plant roots was a grotesque, massive ball of flesh.

All over its surface grew short, twitching tendrils and eyes of varying sizes.

Every single eye was filled with hatred.

And without exception, all of them were locked onto Luca and Life Keeper.

“You think you can defeat me with something like this?! You’re far too naive!

All I need to do is use Primal Power to devolve myself into my most primitive form,

and there won’t be a single thing either of you can do to stop me.”

The Ancient Gods’ eerie muttering echoed once again.

Luca turned his gaze to Life Keeper.

He didn’t believe what the Ancient Gods had said—but he wasn’t entirely sure.

So he needed an answer from Life Keeper.

“Don’t believe it!

You must never believe a single word that comes out of the Ancient Gods’ mouth!”

Life Keeper transformed into a beam of green light and shot straight toward the Ancient Gods.

Wherever the green light passed, plants exploded in rapid growth,

and even the dying vegetation sprang back to vibrant life.

Naturally, Luca refused to fall behind.

Gripping the Starseeker tightly, he charged at full speed toward the Ancient Gods.

The moment the Ancient Gods saw this, all of its eyes shut simultaneously.

The sky was instantly swallowed in total darkness.

Every corner of the Whispering Forest began to echo with maddening whispers.

The Ancient Gods had unleashed its most powerful—and also final—survival skill.

It had made the decision to weaponize the forbidden knowledge in its possession—

knowledge capable of driving sentient beings insane.

Its goal was to plunge every intelligent lifeform in the Whispering Forest into utter psychological collapse.

But the Life Keeper ignored the mental assault of the Ancient Gods entirely.

Luca had long since grown accustomed to the mental assaults of the Ancient Gods.

So the two of them arrived beside the Ancient Gods’ body almost at the same time.

Life Keeper unleashed nearly all of the Chaos power in its possession.

The overwhelming force of Chaos had practically taken on physical form,

twisting and distorting the space around the Ancient Gods.

Luca seized the moment and immediately activated his lightning magic runes.

In the pitch-black sky, a blinding bolt of lightning tore downward.

It struck the Ancient Gods dead on.

Already severely weakened by the Chaos power,

the Ancient Gods was unable to withstand Luca’s strike.

The lightning tore its body apart completely.

“You will all pay for what you’ve done today.

My glorious kin will never let you go unpunished.”

Those were the final words the Ancient Gods left behind.

As it was finally annihilated, the darkness that had covered the sky swiftly dispersed.

The Whispering Forest returned to its usual calm and quiet.

Life Keeper reverted to its original treant form.

It looked at Luca with a smile on its face.

“Thank you very much.

But I must remind you—it’s time to uphold your end of the bargain.

You need to leave here as soon as possible!”

Luca was still thinking about how to bring up his request without sounding unnatural,

so he didn’t leave right away.

This made Life Keeper a little displeased.

It opened its mouth to urge him again.

But before it could say anything,

the sky was suddenly bathed in a brilliant green light.

Before anyone could react,

a soft beam of green light descended from the heavens—

falling straight and true, landing directly on Luca’s body.

Luca felt his wounds healing at an astonishing speed.

At the same time, he heard a voice—unusually gentle, yet powerful.

“This is your reward, warrior from another world.”

The moment the voice faded,

a rune in the shape of a green tree appeared on Luca’s left arm.

The green light that had filled the sky rapidly vanished.

Luca was stunned.

He had no idea what had just happened.

Suddenly, Life Keeper rushed in front of him.

“Oh, great Goddess! You actually bestowed your blessing upon him yourself!”

Life Keeper stared intensely at the rune on Luca’s arm, awe in its voice.

“So… the one who spoke just now was the Goddess of Life?

She said it was something I deserved?”

Still a bit dazed, Luca looked to Life Keeper and asked.

Life Keeper gave a heavy nod.

“This is a blessing granted to you directly by the Goddess!

The great Goddess of Life has acknowledged you!

I shouldn’t have spoken to you so harshly before.

If you need any help, just ask me directly.

And if you wish to stay here for a while, that’s perfectly fine too!”

Life Keeper’s attitude had undergone a dramatic transformation.
