Chapter 200: The academy’s facilities
“Come on,” Sarah said, tossing a glance over her shoulder. “There’s more to see.”
Arthur followed her as they continued through the academy grounds. The deeper they went, the more he realized just how vast and well-structured the institution was.
‘It’s hundred of years, worth of accumulated hard work.’ He thought.
Sarah gestured toward a grand building, it was made out of white marble and stones.
“That’s the Library of Mera. If you ever need to study magic theories, historical records, this is where you go. But, that’s not it’s main purpose.”
Sarah crossed her arms, watching his reaction. “This is where students receive their skills.”
Arthur turned his attention back to her. “Skills?”
She nodded. “When the academic year officially begins, all students will be granted skills according to their class ranking. C-Class students receive one Uncommon-grade skill. B-Class students get two.”
Arthur absorbed the information, his expression unreadable. Uncommon-grade skills? To most, that would be a treasure. To him, it was barely worth a glance.
“What about A-Class and S-Class?” he asked, keeping his tone neutral.
“A-Class gets one Rare skill. S-Class gets three,” Sarah replied. “This is why the instructor said it’s almost impossible to ascend from A-Class to S-Class. It’s not just about talent or effort—it’s about the resources stacked in your favor.”
Arthur’s fingers twitched slightly. Rare skills were valuable, but he already had multiple Legendary-grade skills and even one Mythical-grade ability. Still, for most students, this system was a game-changer.
His eyes flickered with curiosity. “Does it have restricted sections?”
Sarah smirked. “Of course. The higher your reputation, the more areas you can access. The real treasures aren’t handed out freely. You have to earn your way up.”
Arthur nodded, storing the information away. The academy was structured like a hierarchy, just like everything else in this world. The strong climbed higher, while the weak remained where they were.
They passed through a courtyard where students were meditating.
Sarah stopped, glancing at the seated figures, their expressions serene as they absorbed the surrounding mana.
“There are many such courtyards across the academy,” she said. “In fact, these are the worst ones, which is why you see so many students here—it’s free.”
Arthur nodded, observing the way the students sat in focused silence.
“I can feel that the mana is slightly denser here.”
Sarah nodded. “That’s because of a formation designed to gather mana. This courtyard specifically holds about ten percent more mana than normal. The higher-ranked courtyards have a greater percentage.”
Arthur raised an eyebrow. “So why isn’t everyone using the stronger ones?”
Sarah smirked. “Because you won’t find many students there. The price is outrageous.”
“How outrageous?” Arthur asked.
Sarah crossed his arms. “What do you think the price is?”
Arthur shrugged.
“A gold coin per day.” She gestured with her finger.
Arthur raised his eyebrows. That was indeed quite expensive.
While he could afford it if necessary, he didn’t think he needed it. His intelligence stat was already incredibly high, which made his mana control far superior to most students.
“Worth it for some, though,” Sarah continued. “Mana density can make a huge difference, especially for mages. If you’re stuck at a bottleneck, even a slight increase in efficiency can save weeks of training.”

Arthur nodded. “Makes sense. But I assume S-Class students get access for free or discount?”
Sarah let out a dry chuckle. “Of course, they get 50% discount. Another advantage of being at the top.”
Mana control, elemental attunement, aura refinement—these were the foundations of mastery.
And all students wanted to make sure they had a stable foundation.
“Alright, let’s head to the most important spot in the academy,” Sarah said, her voice carrying a hint of excitement.
Arthur nodded, following her as they walked through the academy grounds.
Soon enough, they arrived before a massive, pitch-black building.
Arthur’s eyes narrowed as he took in the structure before him.
The building was unlike anything else in the academy—pitch black, its towering walls absorbing the sunlight rather than reflecting it. Strange, ancient runes were engraved into the stone, faintly pulsing with an eerie glow.
Dozens of guards stood stationed outside, each one exuding a sharp, disciplined aura. They weren’t ordinary academy enforcers—these were elites. Veterans. And if there were this many outside, Arthur could only imagine what was inside.
Sarah gestured toward it. “This is where the Secret Realm is.”
Arthur kept his expression neutral, but inwardly, his interest was piqued.
“Have you been inside?”
Sarah shook her head. “No one has. Not yet, at least. It hasn’t opened yet, and when it does… things get interesting.”
Arthur turned back to the building. The building in front of him was the reason why he had entered the academy.
His hands clenched unconsciously, nails digging into his palms.
‘Charlotte… I will save you, no matter what it takes. And I will make sure to pay back every single person responsible for your suffering and every single one who separated us from each other.’
For a brief moment, raw emotion flickered across his face—a flash of something deep and unshakable. A glimpse of the storm raging inside him.
Sarah, standing beside him, caught it subtly.
It was subtle, barely a ripple in his otherwise controlled demeanor. But for someone as perceptive as her, it was enough.
Her emerald eyes narrowed slightly as she studied him. This realm… it means more to him than just power. This isn’t about competition. It’s deeper than that.
Then, almost as quickly as it appeared, his expression smoothed over, his walls snapping back into place.
Sarah exhaled softly, turning her gaze back to the building.
And yet, as she stared at the looming structure, she felt her own fingers tighten into small fists.
He’s not the only one with something to fight for.
The Secret Realm wasn’t just a proving ground—it was a chance. A chance to change everything.
‘I also have my reasons for entering that realm. And no one… no one is going to stop me from doing so.’
