Chapter 210: Rioting
Arthur flicked his blade, cleaning it of blood with a single motion before sheathing it. The shadow chains dissolved into wisps of darkness.
[You have killed Level 17 Drake (Epic)]
Hank flew to Skyla, fussing over her injured wing. Arthur approached, crouching beside the female hawk.
“You’ll be fine,” he said, pulling out another healing potion. “You all did well.”
As he administered the potion, Arthur glanced at the drake’s remains. Another summon, but he’d wait. For now, his focus was on his current team.
Hank nudged Skyla gently with his beak. “You were amazing.”
Skyla’s thoughts echoed faintly through the link: “Not as amazing as your master. So fast…”
Arthur pretended not to hear, a small smile playing on his lips. The bond between his summons was growing, and soon, they’d be ready for the real challenges ahead.
But first, they needed to get stronger. Much stronger.
“Rest up,” he told his aerial squad, as he unsummoned them all.
Arthur then went to the drake and picked up the loot.
[You have obtained Spirit Core (Very Rare)]
‘I have two spirit cores now, it should be useful in evolving my summons.’ Arthur thought.

Although Arthur was only level 17, due to his various items that boosted his stats, such as the ring of darkness.
His stats were equivalent to those at level 22 or 23.
Arthur glanced at Hank’s evolution and nodded.
“Not bad, I expected it to be going much slower.” He thought.
—
<Hank: Elite>
Focus: Before specialising in a certain field, Hank must first reach epic grade. The requirements below are to evolve Hank to become Elite Grade.
<Requirements:>
<Kill 50 Aerial-Beasts (16/50)>
<Break 50 Talons. (14/50)>
—
Arthur hadn’t allowed Hank to break Skyla’s talons, and Hank was also unable to break the Drake’s talons, which led to the final result of 14 broken talons for his requirements.
Luckily, Hank also got the kill credit for the Drake.
“Awaken,” Arthur commanded, extending his hand toward the drake’s corpse.
A dark portal appeared beneath the drake and consumed its body.
Shadows swirled and condensed until the drake reappeared, eyes now gleaming with loyalty.
[You have summoned ‘Drake’. The summon is now completely loyal to you. Would you like to rename it?]
Arthur shook his head. “Drake is fine.”
He walked up to the drake and frowned. “If only you were slightly bigger than a horse. I would have been able to ride you and fly. But alas, your body structure also doesn’t help.”
The drake lowered its head, as if understanding the disappointment in Arthur’s voice.
“But don’t worry. I will turn you into a real dragon soon.” He smirked as he patted its head.
The drake perked up instantly, rubbing its head against Arthur’s palm. Its scaled snout nudged at his chest affectionately.
Arthur was about to head back to the city when a mental message slammed into his consciousness.
‘Master. We need help. A large number of players are rioting against the village head Charles. They have lots of numbers, and although me and the guards are there, we are still not enough. We need backup. They want to free the person you’ve imprisoned.’
“What?” Arthur muttered, his eyes narrowing.
The message from the goblin king couldn’t have come at a worse time—or perhaps the perfect time. His gaze fell on the drake, and a dangerous smile spread across his face.
“They want to overthrow the government I’ve placed.” Arthur’s fingers tightened around his katana’s hilt. “Alright, since Adam has clearly started moving, impatient as always, I’ll have to show them what happens when you play with fire. Literally.”
He turned to the drake. “Change of plans. We’re heading back to the village. Now.”
The drake growled, as if understanding the urgency in Arthur’s voice.
“You’ll be making quite the entrance,” Arthur said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. “These players think they can challenge my authority? Time they understand who they’re dealing with.”
He tapped the drake’s scales. “How do you feel about making your public debut with some fireworks?”
The drake’s teeth gleamed as its mouth opened in what could only be described as a grin.
Arthur smirked. “I thought so.”
This would be a lesson no one in the village would ever forget.
Arthur didn’t waste time running. He reached into his inventory and pulled out the Protector’s Insignia—a small medallion with the village crest.
“Perfect timing to test this,” he muttered.
The medallion glowed bright blue in his palm. In an instant, the world blurred around him.
WHOOSH!
Arthur blinked, and suddenly he was standing among dense trees at the edge of the village forest. The teleportation had worked flawlessly.
Smoke billowed from several buildings. Angry shouts echoed through the streets.
The drake appeared beside him seconds later, summoned through their bond.
“Find the goblin king,” Arthur ordered. “Follow his lead until I arrive.”
The drake huffed, its crimson scales glinting as it crouched low.
Arthur hadn’t briefed the drake on the situation—no time for that—but the goblin king already knew the plan. They’d discussed contingencies like this weeks ago.
‘Let’s see how these players handle an epic-grade drake,’ Arthur thought, lips curling into a smirk.
He adjusted his cloak, gripped his katana and dashed.
He had already used Loki’s Mask to alter his appearance to that of his sword Instructor identity—the Swordmaster.
No one would connect him to Arthur.
Inside the village, Charles stood outside the town hall, surrounded by guards.
The goblin king stood at his side, armor gleaming with his spear in his hand.
“We will not be releasing anyone!” Charles shouted over the crowd.
“The person imprisoned has committed crimes against the authority of the village. They will face consequences. And I suggest, if you know what’s good for you—do not get involved. You’ll only die in the process.”
Charles raised his hands.
“As you all know, I haven’t treated you unfairly. I’ve given jobs and built training grounds for all of you to grow stronger. How dare you bite the hand that feeds you and try to overthrow me? You’ll only achieve chaos!”
Some players nodded, shuffling their feet.
“He’s right. They’ve been working hard. He isn’t that bad.” The instigators from Adam’s guild saw players wavering.
They pounced immediately.
“Are you guys really believing him?” a burly warrior shouted.
“These people are natives of this world. They’re not from Earth, not the same as us. We are players—they are mere NPCs! How are you letting yourselves be influenced by NPCs?”
A rogue with a scarred face stepped forward. “Besides, if Lieutenant Adam hadn’t caught them doing something wrong, they wouldn’t have imprisoned him. Remember who made us tackle the Monster Horde and win! Lieutenant Adam!”
Murmurs rippled through the crowd.
“He’s right.”
“Yeah. Lieutenant took charge after we begged him. We have to defend him now.”
The crowd shifted again, advancing toward Charles and his guards.
Weapons began to appear in hands.
The goblin king growled, hefting his massive spear.
“Stand back!” the village head warned.
“Last chance!”
Although on the inside he was worrying.
‘Protector. We need you to hurry up…’
“Yeah. Lieutenant took charge after we begged him. We have to defend him now.”
The burly man smiled, seeing his words gaining traction.
He raised his voice even louder.
“By the way, Lieutenant Adam isn’t the only one imprisoned by this evil ruler! There’s one more person they’ve locked away!”
“Someone else? Who?” a voice called from the crowd.
Murmurs rippled through the gathering as players exchanged glances.
“They imprisoned our famous auctioneer, the one who gave many items for free so we could win the Monster Horde event,” the burly man announced, his voice dripping with false sympathy.
“No way.”
A random person in the crowd shook his head in disbelief.
“That’s right. Fateless has also been imprisoned!”
The burly man declared with theatrical outrage.
Shock spread through the crowd like wildfire.
A young mage with spectacles pushed to the front, his face flushed with anger.
“Fateless gave me my first staff! Without him, I’d have died in that horde attack!” His hands trembled as he held the same staff.
“I thought he’d just left the village, and headed to the city!”
“This changes everything,” growled a tank-class player, slamming his shield into the dirt.
“Fateless saved me with his items. He’s the reason half of us are still alive!”
A rogue with twin daggers spat on the ground.
“I made a fortune flipping his auction items. The market’s been dead since he vanished.”
She twirled a blade menacingly. “If they’ve got Fateless locked up, I say we burn this place to the ground!”
