Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 115
Chapter 115: Real enemy
Hans ran past many panicking students, finally reaching the building in which the trouble resided.
Just in front of the entrance, a crowd of people were gathered.
His keen sense of hearing caught the sound of one of his students screaming.
“Let me go! My friends are in there!”
“Fuck! Let me go right now or I’ll wipe this place off the face of the earth”
Claire was screaming against a group of teachers, who were doing their best to keep her out of the building.
He approached the scene:
“Claire, what is happening right now?”
Standing in front of him, a teacher answered his question, speaking an unrefined and barely passable English.
“An attack is ongoing on the building, I am afraid we will not be able to get the remaining class out in time”
But as if the teacher didn’t exist, Hans walked right past him.
“Tell me, Claire”
The man insisted, walking once again in front of Hans, this time stopping him with both arms spread.
“You are not allowed here, your classmate wants to throw herself inside the building, we won’t let her do that”
The first time, he had let it slide, but it was the second time the man had gotten in front of him, denying him the right to speak with his student.
And he was also mistaken for a classmate of the girl instead of a teacher.
“Hey… it’s the second time, and I’ll say it clearly for you…
I want to talk to my student, don’t get in my way.”
Be careful, I won’t repeat myself.
Hans then changed the direction, planning to pass beside the man again, but he persisted.
The stubborn teacher took a step to the side, stopping Hans again.
“I’m sorry, you can’t-
A hit to the abdomen sent the man flying before he could speak.
The annoying teacher was smashed against the stone wall and fell unconscious.
Seeing this, the female teacher who was holding Claire and keeping her mouth covered remained shocked, enough for Claire to bite her hand and free herself from the grip.
Finally breathing, she fell to the ground and watched behind her back…
“Hey! That almost killed me for god’s sake”
But instead of wasting any more time insulting the teacher, she turned her head towards Hans.
“Hurry L-”

A hand smoothly hit her neck, making her faint.
Just behind her, appeared a woman Hans had already seen, who had made a good impression on Hans as an honest and direct teacher.
It was the guide they had on the first day, Saki.
Smiling, as if nothing had happened, she immediately justified her action:
“I am sorry to rely on such underhanded means to calm her down but at the moment it isn’t safe for her to remain like this.
What she was trying to say is that there is one of her classmates in the building, the reason why both she and the other American students were brought away from the building is that they tried to enter it and save them.
Even if having a strong bond as students is good, this would just be throwing one’s life away, students should still behave like students, no matter what tier they are or what grades they have, don’t you think?”
Even if the woman’s words made sense, Hans still felt that something was off.
“Alright then, I’ll go inside the building myself if you don’t want my students to do it”
He turned around and began walking towards the magic classes building, but before he could take a dozen or steps, he was stopped by a hold.
It was Saki, who held his wrist from behind.
Feeling this, he turned around to ask: “what do you want now?”
“I know you must be worried, but don’t worry, our academy can easily resolve this.
I hope you can stay within your boundaries and let us Japanese resolve this.
Otherwise, we will lose face having to rely on the Americans.
He thought about it for a second before accepting the woman’s words.
Even if he was still full of doubts, making something that would’ve worsened their relationship with the Japanese academy was the last thing he hoped for.
Now, it was just time to take things slowly, or so he thought.
A couple of minutes later, a group of awakened arrived at the scene.
They were in seven, and quickly analyzing them with his {mystic insight}, Hans could tell that none of their ranks were below B.
The team was composed of five warriors and two mages, one belonging to the fifth tier and one to the sixth.
With specialized equipment and restraining tools, they ventured inside the building, watched by Hans in the distance.
‘Sonething’s strange…
Why would they send the elite squad of their Academy over just for a simple casual assault?
This already didn’t sit right with him, but arousing even more suspicions was the fact that the building was perfectly fine, and sensing the mana of the whole place, he could only find one class of students and a teacher, meaning that either the attack was nothing but a lie to show off their strengths as an academy or something else was going on behind the scenes.
Unfortunately, it was the latter.
‘What?
Why hasn’t the squad we sent inside come back already?
Damn it, time is ticking and we have only twenty minutes left.
If they don’t make it in time….
Let’s not think about that, for now, I have to think about what to tell this teacher right here’
Was what Saki thought, standing beside Hans right outside the building.
‘The dean instructed me to let absolutely no one inside, especially no one from
The American exchange event.
After the matter ends, we will release the students.
That way, even if they reveal the truth, when all of our students tell a different story they will get labeled as liars, and we’ll manage to get away with it.
The most important thing is that no one gets proof of what happened, and no teachers see what is going on.
The rest is overlookable.’
Worried, she glanced at Hans’s back, who was currently sitting just a couple of meters away from her.
‘For now, I got to keep this one here, the other one is currently talking to the dean so it will all work out just fine’
But just when she thought that everything would be fine as it was, Hans turned around.
“Ms. Saki…
It has already been more than thirty minutes, I am assuming that your team isn’t capable enough to rescue my students.
Has something happened?”
She stuttered a bit, but a reply soon came to mind:
“No, of course not, they have already caught the culprits, and are now just about to return down, I’m sure in ten minutes they’ll be done.”
“That’s what I hoped to hear”
Replied Hans.
“But I’ll tell you now:
If in ten minutes I don’t see my student here, I won’t care about any of our pacts, I will go into that building even if the world falls.
“Yes, of course, there’s nothing to worry about”
‘Nothing to worry about she says? That’s strange… why is it… that I can’t sense those awakened life forces anymore?
The only reason I haven’t bashed inside that place right now is because I feel that all twenty-four of the students are fine.’
His patience was running out, and so were the excuses made up by the Japanese.
Right at that moment, something that would’ve turned the Academy’s plans a hundred and eighty degrees happened.
The unconscious Claire woke up….
“Don’t trust her!” screamed the girl.
Shocked, Saki turned towards the ground where the girl was previously laid upon.
Panic took over her head…
It would’ve been all over if that girl could’ve spoken to Hans.
She had to stop her, even if it meant battling it out with Hans afterward.
Since the options were making an enemy out of the weak and defenseless American academy or revealing something that would’ve completely turned the Japanese academy into ruins, she made a quick choice.
Dashing towards the girl, she gathered aura inside her hand, ready to put her to sleep a second time.
However, before she could even graze Claire, her movement was stopped by something…
Hans had appeared right in front of her, stopping her slash with ease.
Her hand hurting and her brain working at full capacity to understand what was happening, she retreated a couple of steps.
‘What?! He stopped me?!
A mage just stopped me?!
Was he even a mage to begin with?’
Immediately after this clash, what Saki feared would happen happened:
the girl told the truth to Hans.
“Don’t trust her… she’s lying.
Hans… both Logan, and David are trapped inside a classroom, and one of the Japanese teachers is holding them hostage.”
Hearing this finally made Hans realize…
Realize who was his enemy…
…
“Is that true?”
