Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 124
Chapter 124: Reinforcements
‘I forgot…. This bastard was also a mage.
If his physical abilities were so high, I am afraid to discover what his magic would look like’
The drug was clearly different from the first one he had seen, not only had the user completely lost his sanity, but his body had also transformed into something that wasn’t human.
Beneath the monster’s feet, the ground soon stopped fuming and was instead covered in a layer of ice.
When analyzing the opponent with his {mystic insight} Hans could see what monstrously strong entity he was about to face.

“Dang… I knew it… I shouldn’t have come to Japan”
In the meantime, two people were running one beside the other, stepping from roof to roof in order to arrive at the point of interest as fast as they could.
Caleb turned his head sideways to watch the dean just beside him.
“What is happening here?”
He asked yelling, to let his question reach the man’s ears even with the sound caused by the passing wind.
“I have no idea, I just know that it’s not good”

‘Who is this teacher from the American Academy? Even though my specialty isn’t agility it is still impressive that he can keep up with me.
He must be a high A-rank awakened.’
That was a smart intuition, but the truth was that Caleb’s weak point was also dexterity, even though he had tried to train in it after experiencing the fight with the intruder at the Academy, it was still far below compared with his strength, and the Dean would’ve been surprised if he discovered the truth.
After finishing their short conversation, they both began running again, sprinting side by side.
When they finally arrived at the place of the explosion, the sound of Hans’s fight could be heard echoing among the few buildings that still stood up.
The place was almost razed to the ground, thankfully, there seemed to be no dead around.
The only thing they could observe was the ongoing exchange of blows between Hans and the monster.
Even if he was a mage, he used anything he could to try and hold on against the demon.
Using his body like a warrior, evading hits like an assassin, and taking some attacks like a tank, to the eyes of the two observers, Hans looked like a one-man party, but even while doing all that, the abomination still held the upper hand.
Every hit Hans tried to sneak in between his desperate parries dealt no damage whatsoever on the monster, while even a single punch landed would be enough to incapacitate Hans to the point of making him unable to fight.
It was a dire situation, and Hans couldn’t find a way out.
Just when another hit was about to land on the young man’s arm, the monster was sent flying by a third party, who had come from the side.
“Hey, Hans… are you sure about the answer you gave me when I asked you if you were a physical education teacher?”
It was Caleb, his punch had taken the monster by surprise since lost in its anger, it couldn’t even notice what was going on aside from its fight.
But now, after having received the heavy blow caused by Caleb’s {mountain punch} skill, which was upgraded to A-rank after his last fight, the monster had sensed and become wary of the two intruders, especially…
It was staring at the dean.
The hatred released from its crimson-red eyes while staring at him was even more than the one that came out when facing Hans.
The dean, however, instead of recklessly jumping into the fight like Caleb, observed the situation and questioned the origin of the creature.
“What is going on here? And where did that thing come from?”
While the three humans were chatting, the monster got up again, unscathed as always.
“I think you owe me an explanation as to why the hell a dozen of the academy’s buildings are gone”
The monster chose its target and prepared for a sneak attack while the humans held their guards down.
“I think that it is you who should give me an explanation!”
Said Hans gathering mana into his left hand.
“As for why the hell one of your teachers attacked me and my students before transforming into a monster!”
‘What?’
Thought shocked the dean.
‘You are telling me that…
Caleb tried to calm Hans down with a few words, but he was too late, the fatigued Hans threw a spell forward with all his strength.
{dragon breath}(tier-5)
The flames violently blazed into the air, going toward the old man.
The spell was recognized as powerful even by the dean, who held his sheathed sword up to block the fire.
But the flames went right past the man, hitting and repelling the monster behind him, that had in the meantime, managed to close the distance enough to try and attack.
‘Shit!’ thought the dean, feeling the heat emanating from the spell’s collision with the armored devil.
‘It sneaked up behind me without me even noticing in the slightest?! I would’ve died if it wasn’t for the boy’
“Are you telling me that… that thing is my brother?”
“What?!” asked Caleb confused.
“We will talk later, for now, the priority seems like surviving, don’t you think?”
“Alright” said decisively the dean, unsheathing his tachi from the scabbard.
“Wait tell me what is happening!” begged Caleb.
“Go, right now, it’s already back on its feet, and I don’t have much strength left, the two of you need to hold it for as long as you can! In the meantime, I will find a way to take It down”
“You better think of something good kid, otherwise I’ll slash that disgusting head of his off before you can even come up with a solution”
Said the dean while throwing himself against the demon, holding his tachi high and swinging it down with a single thought in his mind.
‘Brother, I told you I would get back at you for what you have done.
You have walked past the line that should not have been crossed long ago, and look at what you have become now.’
“Arrgh, okay, but as soon as this matter ends you have to tell me what’s happening, is that clear?” exclaimed Caleb.
“Alright, alright… now go, I will provide you backup as soon as I’m ready” reassured Hans.
And like that, a harsh battle started between the two men and the beast.
Surprisingly, the synergy of the two was incredibly good, with Caleb compensating for their low dexterity with his endurance, and with the dean attacking so fiercely and slashing so heavily to go as far as denting the creature’s skin.
Using a tachi instead of a katana, increased even more his incredibly high strength.
In a videogame, this would be a double DPS/tank team composition, since Caleb’s heavy punches also acted as a distraction for the monster.
But as the fight went on and on, something became evident:
One of them being a low S-rank with a unique class, and the other being a peak S-rank with an epic class, they both could not muster nearly enough strength to finish the fight.
It had become a battle of endurance, but fighting against them ‘mere mortals’ was an untiring beast.
In the meantime, catching a bit of breath and giving a few seconds of peace to his strained mind, Hans was thinking of a solution to the unsolvable problem in front of him.
His reasoning, however, came to a halt when a freezing-cold mana began taking over the place.
The monster had started to use spells once again, and the first one to be cast was the most dangerous.
It was the terrifying {total freeze}
“Dodge!”
Yelled Hans at the two men who were dangerously close to the beast.
They both didn’t need a reason to, with their senses shaped through countless battles, they could tell something bad was about to happen after sensing the mana.
And trusting the only mage out of the three was the best option they had at the moment.
They both returned beside Hans, leaving the monster some time to rest.
In just a few seconds, the dents and the scratches made to its exoskeleton recovered completely.
However, Hans noticed something strange in this situation.
Something was out of place, and figuring it out didn’t take him long.
The ground wasn’t freezing, as soon as a bit of ice formed, it would be melted.
Even though they were really good, Hans’s spells weren’t capable of this.
There was only one possible explanation.
“Ha… haha…. Could it be that… there is one of those right beneath our feet?”
