Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 133
Chapter 133: Travel
Out of the car, a red carpet accompanied them to a plane.
They were already on the landing strip, but that didn’t stop the reporters from flocking towards them one more time.
All around the red carpet, security men held off the countless interviewers ready to snatch a hot scoop or a surprising revelation.
As of lately, nothing big had happened, so if they managed to catch something important it could end up on the first page.
“Hans! Could you tell us your opinion regarding this operation?”
“Hans! Could you tell us the chance of success of this gate?”
“Hans Ritcher, could you please confirm the members leading this operation?”
“Hans!..
“Hans…”
“Hans…”
“Hans…”
It got to a point where his ears were hurting after walking only about fifteen seconds on that carpet, so before getting on the plane, Hans decided to shut those loud mouths of theirs off for a few seconds.
Just before reaching the stairs that led to the entrance of the plane, he snatched one of the reporters’ microphones.
He bumped it a couple of times with his fingers before asking:
“Is this thing on?”
By the time he said those words, not a single pip could be heard throughout the whole strip.
“I heard someone ask how sure I am about our success, isn’t that right?
Here, listen well, because this is for you who asked.
We will manage to clear the gate without a single casualty, and I am sure about it at 101%, now, if you would allow me, I would like to relax a bit, so keep it down, alright?”
The whole crowd was left in shock.
Hans threw the microphone back at the reporter he stole it from and then headed up the stairs, walking leisurely.
As soon as the airplane’s door closed he sat down, with the dean right in front of him.
The leather seats were clear from any stains and the wooden armrests were polished beautifully, the whole interior of the plane was really luxurious, but also quite plain, it wasn’t anything like those planes only needed to show off one’s wealth, but more like one fully dedicated for the comfort of the owner.
“Off to Greenland, we go”
Said the dean.
“So it seems” replied Hans watching outside the window.
The voices of the reporters couldn’t even be heard by Hans, whose senses were heightened a lot, meaning that the soundproof material applied to the walls was incredibly functional.
It was so good that when the engine was turned on Hans couldn’t even hear it.
“It’s nice isn’t it?”
Asked the dean, breaking the absolute silence

“Yes incredibly so”
Replied Hans.
“Even if having better senses than any normal humans is good, it can be extremely annoying sometimes, I know it myself, and the people who designed this plane knew it as well”
“Is this made purposely for that?”
“Yes, it’s a silent plane, these things are a marvel of engineering and carpentry.
The plane was designed in a way that the sound produced by the engine, and the sound coming from the turbulences of the plane can’t penetrate.
Even the pilot’s room is blocked by soundproofing materials so that awakened can completely relax their senses.
There are security systems to check on the pilots so you don’t have to worry about the dangers of not hearing what happens in that cabin.”
“How much does one of these cost?”
Asked Hans, genuinely interested in the vehicle.
The silence was the main reason he had requested a training facility in the middle of nowhere
since his senses could pick up even the slightest sound and disturb his meditation.
But whenever there was a bit of wind or rain, that would’ve been all useless, instead, a plane like this was way better.
“How about this, forget the price, and forget buying one.
I will gift this one to you, but you will have to do something for me in exchange.
Seeing him genuinely interested in something for once, she didn’t want to let the chance slip, if she could’ve gotten what she wanted and a favor from Hans just by gifting a couple of tens of millions it was worth it.
She was a billionaire after all.
“What do you want?”
“Well, you will leave the academy right?”
“If you’re planning to ask me to stay don’t do it, I won’t anyway”
“I know, unfortunately, that is not what I will request.
Don’t let any of the teachers die, or sustain major injuries, just as you’ve told that reporter.”
“Of course, I was planning to do that anyway, but I’ll take the plane if you really want to get rid of it”
“I haven’t finished speaking yet!
You’re planning to clear it yourself right?”
“Yeah, if I don’t the other will surely get injured, and in that freezing cold place it won’t bring any good”
“Don’t.”
“What do you mean don’t?”
“Don’t clear it yourself, let the other clear it and step in only in case someone is about to face serious trouble”
“Alright, I understand”
“Uh? Aren’t you going to ask me why?”
“No, it’s obvious, if I were to single handily clear the gate, it would be me to be recognized as a sufficient power to protect the Academy, and not the other teachers.
And the moment I leave the academy, your strength will be put into doubt once again.”
“Yeah, it’s exactly like that, you have to let the other teachers prove themselves, and for that reason, you also won’t be the team leader”
Hans expected something like this to happen:
He, as a person, contrary to his strength, still did not have the complete trust of the dean, so instead of being the leader, he was being kept like a powerful weapon.
“I hope you will participate even like this, and in exchange, I’ll gift this to you”
“Alright”
Hans wasn’t really enthusiastic, he basically had to stay on the sidelines, and couldn’t intervene if it wasn’t for other members being in danger.
This meant he couldn’t level up as he had hoped, but since he had received two valuable items from the dean:
The scales and the plane,
He decided to accept the deal.
During the flight, Hans did various things, but he mostly stood still meditating and watching out the window.
If he could’ve taken a lotus position, he would’ve meditated the whole flight, but since doing so while being in a normal position didn’t bring as many results, he just watched out the window.
Observing part of the vast ocean and the beautiful land underneath them put his mind at ease and relaxed his body, especially thanks to the absolute silence that covered the room.
When they landed, waiting for them just a couple of meters beside the parked plane, was a black car, exactly the same as the one that accompanied them in America.
And when the door opened, Hans got a breath of fresh air.
The first thing that caught his eye was the snow…
It was snowing, and everything was covered in a thin layer of white.
And then the cold wind that blew on his bare skin.
In America, the temperature was always over twenty degrees, while in Greenland it was around 0.
They got in the car, and an old man drove them off.
“It’s cold here even if it’s the first few days of August, I wonder how it is the rest of the year.”
Said Hans, talking to the old man.
“Hohoh… you have yet to feel what it is like in the vicinity of the gate.
Though it seems like you handle the cold really well doesn’t it?”
He said watching Hans dressed in a T-shirt and some casual trousers.
“Haha… I have a bit of familiarity with cold gates”
Replied Hans embarrassed, thinking back at the time he remained stuck in a glacial gate for various days.
“Well, it hasn’t always been like this”
Said the driver.
“This place has always been cold, but never this much, it was usually like this around November, or in cold years October, but since the gate opened the temperature has been steadily decreasing in the whole country.”
“I see”
Said Hans.
It was a really important job the one he had.
Hearing the people of this country addressing the gate they had to clear as the gate made him feel quite anxious.
This gate was a complete disaster for Greenland, and the only reason no one had cleared it yet was because of the lack of awakening in the country.
With the profit to be made from the gate being close to zero, meaning that external help wouldn’t have intervened, it was now in the hands of the country to handle.
Greenland was really vast, and yet there was only one awakened surpassing A-rank, he was the only one who could’ve attempted to clear the gate with a chance of success, but if anything happened to him, or if by any chance, he perished inside there, the whole country would’ve probably crumbled.
Even if Greenland was incredibly huge, there were only about thirty thousand citizens, and a huge lack of awakened.
The so-called: “team one” led by the nation’s only S-rank, handled most of the breaks all over the country.
Even if almost all the members apart from the leader, who had a rare class, awakened with a common class, they were shaped through countless repetitive battles, making them an incredibly powerful guild,
And some members of that guild would’ve helped them plan the gate raid.
