Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 134
Chapter 134: Team One
The old man drove them all the way to a facility about an hour away from where they landed, and said his goodbyes, wishing for their success and thanking them for their work.
Hans and the dean entered the building and were immediately greeted by a tall man with black hair, he looked like he was in his mid-thirties, or slightly younger.
“It’s a pleasure to meet our esteemed guest.
I am Sivert Petersen, I am the current leader of team one”
He smiled warmly and put his hand forward for a handshake.
The first one to shake his hand was the dean.
“Thank you for helping us on this operation, I am Ava Rivera”
“It’s nothing, I’m sorry we won’t be able to participate physically but we will help with all we have to plan the gate clear.
I have heard much about you, it’s a pleasure to meet you in person.
And you must be Hans Ritcher.”
Once again, he shook hands with the guest.
“Yes, I heard of the difficult workload you have to shoulder, we shouldn’t take up too much of your time”
“Haha… it’s okay, I overworked the guys the past well to carve out a couple of free days from our schedule”
“But we still shouldn’t waste such precious time, let us get down to business as soon as possible”
Said the dean.
“Of course, follow me, everyone has already arrived here a couple of days ago, we were only waiting for the two of you”
They followed the man through the building, and he led them inside a conference room, similar to the universities’ halls.
Already seated in the various positions were many familiar faces and some he had never seen.
Amongst the familiar faces were Caleb and Lily Adams, respectively the P.E. Teacher and the science teacher, and then there were also the rest of the academy’s professors, or at least the awakened ones who could fight.
Nora Hayes, for example, the civic education teacher, stayed in America, but apart from her, most of the instructors were present.
They all got up from their seats as soon as the dean entered as a form of respect, and their gaze was then turned to the entrance, as they were all waiting to see a certain someone they hadn’t met in months.
Soon, the door revealed Hans’s face, he was as composed as always, but he gave off a different feeling.
After discovering his true powers, the teachers who had crossed paths with him many times in the academy simply couldn’t bring themselves to look at him the same way.
A seventh tier, for god’s sake a seventh tier at eighteen, it was the birth of a genius.
Well… Hans wasn’t in the seventh tier, but a misunderstanding was caused because of his attack.
He had moved the earth’s magma, and people had begun wondering how he had done that, eventually, the fact that only high-ranking mages could manipulate nature’s elements came into the discussion, and he was globally recognized as the youngest seventh-tier mage.
Even The List wrote of him as such, but they were all wrong.
Hans was still stuck in the sixth tier, and he had no idea of how to get out of it.
The unfamiliar people in the room also watched Hans in awe, it was like standing in front of a celebrity, since during the last three months in which he disappeared, various people had begun idolizing him, just like a star, or a politician.
The meeting started as soon as he sat down.

The first one to take the stage was Team One’s guild master, who introduced the members of the guild in the room and explained the reason for the gathering.
“I won’t indulge in who I am anymore since I’ve already introduced myself to all of you, instead, I am here to tell you the target of today’s meeting.
For the next two days, we will spend most of our time preparing everything the American Academy’s professors may need in their raid, and I have brought the members of my guild who know the territory and the monsters the best.
Unfortunately, the Team One guild will not be able to participate, because, in the absence of our best members, the whole defenseless nation will fall prey to the monsters.
And in case of our failure, the only guild in the country will fall, making Greenland a country dependent on other nations, or an abandoned wasteland.
The members that will assist the seventeen of you in planning the gate clearing are the following:
-Pilu Kleist, an A-rank awakened of our guild, one of the few still in our country, ever since the opening of the gate, he is the one who has been hunting the glacial yetis that escape from the blizzard area.
-Nivi Lund:
A-rank awakened, she is the one who led the expedition team inside the innermost blizzard area, and the only one to have returned alive from it.
And lastly…
-Ane Egede:
She is a B-rank awakened with a scouting profession, before the opening of the gate, she was a resident of the little city now covered in snowstorms, and she knows all the surrounding areas like the back of her hand.
They will tell you everything there is to know about this gate expedition, and they will then help with the planning.
Now, if you would excuse me…
The man stepped down from the stage, and stepping up in his place was a rough-looking man, he only had one eye, and three slash marks covered the other one.
Other than those three, various scars covered his whole face.
He was quite tall, standing at about the same height as Hans.
He started the computer that was previously closed on the desk, and behind him, a big TV showed the screen to all the others.
Only one image was on the screen, and it painted a white-furred monster, whose height dwarfed the man standing in front of it with a greatsword.
“That is me”
Said the man, pointing at the little person on the screen.
I don’t really take pride in my height, but I must say that I am not short.
That creature I was fighting is the one you will encounter the most while in the blizzard area around the gate, and it is my duty to teach you everything I know about them.
First of all, yetis are creatures that live in groups, like wolf packs, and just like wolves, even yetis groups have leaders.
The leaders are recognizable immediately because of their height, and their absurd strength.
Normal yetis have the strength of a B-rank awakened, while leaders have the same strength as A-rank warriors, in a normal B-rank gate, one of these would be a leader, but as you may have already figured…
This is by no means what you would call a ‘normal’ gate.
They have intelligence, and they blend well in the snow, if a blizzard is raging, you won’t see these guys even if they stand still a couple of dozens of meters away from you.
That is why, fighting them inside the blizzard area, which is present all around the gate, is many times more difficult than fighting them normally.
Unfortunately for you, luring them out is impossible, even if you found a way to do that, you would have to slaughter tens of tribes, each one with a leader of their own, it would not only take too much time but also be extremely tiring.
The only way to succeed in the mission will be explained to you by Ane, and it will require you to cut right through the blizzard, meaning that my job is to teach you how to fight yetis in the snowstorms.
I won’t go into details right now, but something that you need to know is that these monsters have superhuman strength, even higher than most awakened, if they grab one of your libs, you will have a better chance of living by tearing it off.”
Hearing those words, most of the teachers gulped, already scared of what they were getting themselves into.
“They hide under the snow to hunt, and they wait for prey to step on the fresh snow to grab their legs and feed themselves.
I will make this clear, if you’re unable to free yourself from their grip even after cutting your limbs off then take your own life, because just like white bears, those abominations don’t wait for their prey to die, they start eating.
Seeing your companion’s flesh being torn apart under your eyes while their fresh blood paints the white snow red isn’t for those of you weak in the stomach, so prepare yourself for what is about to come.”
After terrorizing all the professors apart from a few of them, the man stepped down, and replacing him was a woman.
She looked happy as she began speaking.
Her first words were:
“I’m sorry, my friend didn’t intend to scare you, he’s always like that.
I’m Nivi Lund, and even if that’s not my intention, I might have to scare you even more than Pilu, because no one knows this, but the yetis aren’t the only monsters inhabiting the frozen planes…
