Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 139
Chapter 139: Unordinary
Knowing that they were out of the tortoises’ territory, Caleb decided to set up camp in that exact place, to avoid going too far in and accidentally disturbing the boss.
After everything had been properly set up, most of the members wanted to sleep as soon as they could, but something still had to be done.
“Everyone gather over here! It’s time for us to send the message”
Yelled Caleb, whose words managed to get through even the raging blizzard and reach the ears of every single one of his team members.
Soon, all the teachers gathered in the biggest tent, and the science teacher set up a camera a couple of meters in front of them.
“Click”
The science teacher pressed the camera before walking towards the other members and taking part in the screen.
“It will start in about fifty seconds, so you can relax and say what you want in the meantime”
She added.
Speaking after her, was Caleb, who took up the rest of the remaining time with his speech.
“Alright then… remember, we have to make it as truthful as possible, don’t lie, but maybe don’t put weight on the fact that we just ran away.
This is a message to the whole world, and we can’t show the weak side of the academy, otherwise, the whole purpose of this expedition will cease to exist.
Other than that, you can say whatever you want, and if it really turns out bad, the operation team will just cut it out for us.”
And so, after three beeps, the camera began filming them.
The first one to speak as the representative was Caleb, who summed up the events while
Building up a heroic story for the public.
After him, everyone said something, some talked about personal feelings, and others about things that happened during the journey, and the message video then got sent to the operation room team, who approved it and sent it directly worldwide without modifying it.
There wasn’t enough internet to go live with decent quality, but sending a video was still possible, so to get the news out of that hellish blizzard, they decided before even entering, that if they would make it past the innermost part they would make a video, and give an update to everyone who was interested in the expedition.
In this case, almost everyone from the elderly to the children was interested in it, so when the video got put up online, it quickly reached hundreds of millions of views on every social.
The expedition team then finally got some rest, and the night passed quickly.
The strong wind blew upon their tents, making a loud sound that would have disturbed their sleep in any other situation, but they were all so tired that they fell asleep without any difficulty.
The same couldn’t be said about Hans, who just wanted to sleep to get his mind off the thoughts about his powers, but couldn’t.
He even tried casting a mana barrier all around his tent to prevent the noise, but twenty minutes later, he realized that the noise wasn’t the problem in the first place.
What was keeping him awake couldn’t just be blocked with a mana shield, so he got out of the tent to take a breath of fresh air.
The cold blizzard almost felt like a refreshing breeze upon his bare skin, which had been strengthened beyond measure thanks to his increase in endurance and strength.
It had been almost a week since he had last felt the cold on his own body because the team had been provided with heating artifacts bound to the suit, that kept the temperature inside up to a hundred degrees higher than the temperature outside.
It still felt cold since the temperature there averaged at around minus one hundred degrees, but feeling the wind was a completely different matter.
“Heupp… haaaa”
He took a long breath, hoping it would bring fresh ideas to his mind, but the only thing he got was the frozen air that came out of his body.
Whenever he took a breath, he could hear the crispy sound of the carbon dioxide coming out of his body freezing in the air, before crumbling to the ground broken into barely noticeable shards.

It was out of the usual, and that made him relax.
“What now?”
He asked himself.
He had gotten a rush of adrenaline from the cold, and it became almost impossible for him to hope to fall asleep after that.
‘Should I just…. yeah, let’s do that’
Hans ventured outside the camp, walking towards the middle of the entire blizzard area.
The snowstorms became gradually more and more violent with every step he took, and after only five minutes of walking, he began feeling the cold even with his body.
He then reached a point in which twenty meters was the maximum distance he could see through.
Aven like that, he could tell that what was in front of him was out of the norm of even this place.
A wall of winds mixed with little shards of snow and ice.
Hans inserted his hand into the wall, feeling a strong resistance.
He then pulled it back out, and after making sure his hand didn’t get shredded by the flying ice, he walked inside the wind wall with his whole body.
It was chaotic… the snow and the thick mana in the air made both his eyes and his observation ability useless.
The loud sound of the gale hitting his body made him deaf, and the thousands of snow pieces smashing against his body made him lose both tact and balance, almost making him fall to the ground without most of his senses.
But he immediately thought of a solution and wrapped a barrier around himself to keep his body away from all those sensations.
He had mastered his shield to an incredible degree, and yet it still was just barely enough to create it in that place.
Nature’s mana was so thick, that it made moving his own mana to cast a barrier seem an impossible achievement
For reference, it could be compared to swinging a pan, or a plate, underwater.
The friction between the ice-cold mana in his surroundings and his own mana slowed down the operation a lot and lowered his mana control by various tiers.
All he managed to cast was a third-tier shield, which was just enough to protect him from the cold and the wind.
He walked for a minute or so, he wasn’t precisely sure, since he lost perception of time while inside that mess.
But what he was sure of was that what was beyond that wall of winds and tempest, was completely different from his imagination.
He took his last step, emerging victorious from the wind currents, while his mana barrier dissipated once done with its job.
His eyes widened at the sight in front of him.
The sky was clear, the winds didn’t blow, and the temperature didn’t go below zero degrees.
The beautiful stars in the night sky lit up the place, highlighting the dark grass and a little lake in the middle of that circular space.
But most of all, floating in the air right above the lake, was the phenomenon that caused all of this trouble.
A majestic glowing white gate with a dark void in the middle.
Three things surprised Hans, first of all, he had never seen such a pure white gate, it was elegant, almost beautiful.
Two, everyone expected the boss to be outside like every other monster, since that was what happened in every other gate break.
Three, when observing the gate with his {mystic insight} which he could now use since the mana disturbing his spells was only contained inside the blizzard, the result was…. Unordinary.
[Subject: gate
Gate tier:-
Description: This gate does not possess a tier since it leads somewhere else instead of being a place in itself.]
It was the first time he had seen something like this.
Sure, he hadn’t analyzed many gates with his ability since he didn’t know he would actually be able to do it, but from the moment he discovered it, he always analyzed everything he could, including the gates.
And this was the only one whose rank could not be analyzed.
What did that mean? Was it impossible to clear? Did they have to go all the way back now? Or should he risk it and bring everyone with him?
He wasn’t sure, and he didn’t even know what he should’ve said in order to make them change their idea of clearing this break.
Confused, he passed through the wind wall once again and returned to the camp.
He then lay in his sleeping bed, with more thoughts in his head compared to the ones he had before getting up.
But he had discovered something even the most advanced scientists in the world didn’t know.
Normal gates weren’t portals to other dimensions or worlds as everyone thought of them.
They were the other Worlds.
