Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 155
Chapter 155: A Way Out
The ground trembled, and a rumbling sound took over the whole blizzard as the enormous monsters began their movement.
“It’s starting!!
The tortoises are beginning to move!”
“What do we do now?!”
“Damn, does anyone have anything in mind?!”
Panic spread like a virus amongst the expedition team, and even Caleb, as the leader, had no idea of how to proceed in that situation.
The only thing he had bet on: Hans, had disappeared, and he was left with no choice.
“We will have to get out and fight our way through the yetis.
We have seen it, they are killable, I think it’s many times better than hoping to survive here.
Here, just a single step coming our way would put an end to our lives, instead of relying on luck and praying, I prefer to choose my destiny through my actions.
I will go out there right now, and all those of you who are willing to accompany me are free to do so.
If you want to stay here and bet your life, then you can do just that.”
“Now, who will come with me?”
Asked Caleb to the group, expecting about half of the members to stay in place.
But to his surprise, everyone raised their hands,
It wasn’t only the situation that called for such a choice, but Caleb’s charismatic attitude also helped them to decide without any doubts.
But before Caleb could lead this suicide team outside of the innermost area,
Hans appeared.
“That’s just going to kill you all, have you seen how many there are,”
“Hans! You came back!
I was beginning to worry you had fled or something”
“How could I leave you all here? I’m still a human with a certain level of ethics.”
“Are you now?”
Asked Caleb jokingly.
Hans replied with a smile.
“Do you have a way to get us out of this mess?”
“Yes, I found exactly what I was searching for”
“Oh… go on show me, I can’t wait to get out of this snow pile and return home.”
“Sure, gather everyone quickly, we have to do it before one of us gets caught up in the tortoise’s path.”
“Gather up! Quick! We have a special ticket out of here and we won’t miss the train!”

Shouted the man, alerting all the people who were walking beside and behind him.
When all the members had gathered, Hans began casting the spell, as if grabbing the cold mana from nature and wrapping it around them.
They could all see each other, but they believed Hans when he told them none of the yetis would’ve spotted them.
After a few seconds of walking, they got out of the innermost area.
Clearly seeing how many monsters were waiting for them right outside made them realize something.
‘If we had followed my plan… we would’ve died… without a single hint of a doubt.’
Even if disheartened by that information, they did not stop walking, always being careful about not going too fast and accidentally leaving someone slightly behind or walking too loudly, risking being heard by the monsters all around them.
After thirty minutes of careful movement, they finally passed by all the yetis, escaping the danger thanks to a miracle.
Having departed a few seconds later, and having chosen a slightly wrong direction when getting away were all occurrences that could’ve caused the team’s death, the fact none of those happened was like having won a lottery for them.
When they were already far away from the yetis, Caleb and the others turned on their earbuds, conveying the message to the dean.
She was glad to hear all of them were fine, and she was also quite happy to be the only one knowing of the team’s position, her drone team was the only one streaming live for a couple of hours, making their views skyrocket.
The scenes of the victorious expedition team making their way through the sea of snow were playing in the background while a shower of comments flashed in the comments section.
“What?!”
“Weren’t they back inside the inner part of the blizzard?”
“Did anyone see how they got out?”
“I was watching the stream from another cam and we were observing the group of yetis.”
“How come no one has seen them get out?”
“Idk, the drone just flew away and found them a couple of hundred meters from the yetis gathering point.”
“So we are all just going to ignore the fact that they got past a thousand beasts and a dozen drones without being noticed?”
“Idk man, what can we even say about it, they are awakened, and remember who is with them during this trip”
All attention gathered toward Hans, and the biggest suspicion was that he was the one who had hidden them from the yetis.
It was a strange occurrence, since the widely known stealth skill mages can possess, not only belongs to the dark element but can also only be used on oneself.
The world was aware of Hans possessing double attributes, ice as shown when fighting against Logan in Chicago, and fire as shown during the fight against the demon in the Japanese academy, the experts could also tell about his earth attribute since even if slightly less attention-grabbing, it was what had allowed him to recover the magma from the depths of the earth.
He was already much more than abnormal, to be a seventh-tier mage with an affinity for three different elements.
And he was still only eighteen…
Because of the happenings, rumors saying that he was also a dark element mage and he just hadn’t revealed it yet started going around.
For the following three days, the travel was smooth.
No yetis blocked their paths, and having gotten used to the level of the blizzard in the innermost part, the winds in the outer zone felt like a refreshing breeze.
The cold was not affecting them anymore, and the only reason they didn’t get past that place even quicker was because of the fresh snow that made it difficult to walk, as they found themselves always falling inside it.
It had almost been two weeks since Hans arrived in Greenland when the expedition team finally returned.
None of the members were badly harmed, and none of them died.
That, in itself, was already an astonishing achievement.
Their position was known to the whole world since they were being followed by countless drones and cameras, so coming out of the blizzard, thousands of people were waiting for them.
Many were the residents of Greenland, whose country had just been freed of an incredible problem, and just as many were the reporters, who had gathered from all around the globe to take various pictures and maybe get a few words from the team.
Unfortunately for them, the dean arrived at the scene, and refused any kind of interview, leading all the teachers away.
They were accompanied to the building in which they had planned the raid, where TeamOne’s guild leader and various members were waiting.
“I am sorry to regroup you all here right now”
Said Greenland’s prime minister, who had been waiting for them inside a meeting room.
“I am thankful for your unconditioned help, however, just as a problem subsides, another one arises.
The yetis that have gathered to attack you are currently coming out of the blizzard area, and we do not have enough power to stop them alone.
They have started moving yesterday, so they will be here in two days at most.
In just two days we cannot expect any help from other nations, you and TeamOne are the only ones we can rely on.”
“I do not know if we can provide any help, the teachers are probably exhausted by the expedition, it depends on whether or not they can recover in just two days”
Said the dean.
She then glanced at Caleb, who, to her surprise, just nodded.
“Well then… it seems like we will be able to help”
The look on everyone’s faces lightened.
“But do not expect us to work for free.”
Expecting this, the prime minister immediately replied:
“Don’t worry, we aren’t foolish enough to think it will be free.
What are your terms?”
“We will take the space artifact you have acquired, since it was put up as compensation for the clearing of the gate we will at least get back something that will not affect your economic state.”
A man got up from his chair and slammed his fist against the table.
He was one of the TeamOne members they had never met before, but the first impression sure wasn’t good.
“That’s unacceptable! The artifact is worth at least a hundred million dollars, not affecting our economic state my foot!”
What he said was true, the dean had shaped it nicely with her sly mouth, but that single piece was worth hundreds of millions.
However, even if the man reacted like that, the prime minister had no choice but to accept the offer.
…
“Alright, we thank you for your cooperation”
