Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 217
Chapter 217: Production types
…
‘There are a few things I must do before I return home…
First of all, I should find a new leader for the Chicago branch… luckily, I have already told Emily to reach out to the perfect person… it’s been a while since the last time anyone’s seen him around.
Other than that, I have agreed to attend the branch leaders’ meeting together with Ava, this time not as a branch leader but as her guest.
This means I can’t leave for four days, since the meeting will be held in five days.
In the meantime, I have some other things to take care of… for example… Aiden and I also have to go and get my equipment from the old man…
There are a lot of things I have to do… I better get to work.
Hans got out of the shower and coated himself in a towel before putting on some clean clothes.
‘Finally… I couldn’t stand being so dirty..’
“Bang!”
A loud noise came from the kitchen, and Hans was immediately alarmed.
‘What’s happening? Is there an intruder?’
As fast as lightning, Hans arrived in the living room in the blink of an eye…
‘Wow… my stats have gotten pretty high even for a warrior, haven’t they? I bet I would be an S-class even without my mana if it weren’t for my scarce fighting experience in close combat.’
Even if he was surprised by his own abilities, he had no time to waste, he turned his head to the side, where he saw a black figure surrounded by a cloud of dust.
Hans was about to analyze the man with his mystic insight when he saw the familiar figure…
“Aiden?!”
“B-brother Hans? I… I finally did it!!”
“What?! You did what? Is everything ok?”
“Haha… yes, everything has never been better”
The boy replied laughing while his teeth stood out amongst his face covered in black dust.
After cleaning up a bit, Aiden explained to his brother…
“I’ve been trying for the past few months… even after surpassing level ten, never would have I thought I would be able to do it…”
Aiden seemed to be really happy and proud as he led Hans toward the stove, where a medium-sized pot was resting without any fire beneath it.
All around the kitchen were various instruments commonly used to distill ingredients and mix materials, leading Hans to think that Aiden must’ve been experimenting with potions…
‘What could he have done?… for him to be so happy about it?…’
Hans’s curiosity was piqued in those few seconds, and when he saw what Aiden had managed to do, he understood where all his happiness sprouted from.
As he walked close to the pot, he saw a colored substance contained in it.
It barely occupied any space, since it wasn’t much, and only covered the bottom of the pot, but the particular smell that it emitted was strong enough for him to be affected by it…
“A… a… achoo!!”

Hans covered his mouth with his hand and then opened his teary eyes to gaze at the red substance…
It smelled like really spicy food…
Hans proceeded to analyze it with his {mystic insight}…
[Item name: Freeze resistance potion

Item description: a potion made through countless trials and errors.
It is not a perfect Common (medium-rank) potion, but it far surpasses its Common (low-rank) variant.
Item effect:
Slows down the body’s freezing and temporarily raises the body temperature of whoever drinks it.
It can negate the effects of about -15 degrees Celsius.
Item duration:
It will last about thirty minutes at full efficiency, and it will keep half of its effects for three hours.
Note: drinking this in a hot environment will cause extreme heat and possibly lead to dehydration.]
“You… made this yourself?”
Hans said curiously…
“Yes”
Replied the boy touching the back of his head in embarrassment…
“This… this is amazing!”
‘While for mages who advance through conventional ways, the level system is absolute, the same can’t be said about warriors and producers, since things like reflexes, battle sense, and even the rarity of the class, can heavily influence their recognized level.
For example, while a mage has to obtain the method to create their next circle once every while, warriors do not have this problem, and below the seventh tier, which is when they have to achieve a deep understanding of aura, they do not have a proper division between the ranks.
For that reason, If a tier-4 mage with a level between 100 and 150 has a rare class, they are considered a very strong mage, while if a warrior who has a level between 100 and 150 possesses a rare class, if they are strong enough, they can be classified as a B-rank, even if their effective level belongs to the range of C-ranks.
To sum it up in just a few words, while warriors are classified based on their abilities, mages are ranked solely off the tier of the spells they can cast, meaning that their stats could be much higher even if their rank is lower… and for this reason, mages are considered stronger than warriors in their same rank.
But this whole ranking does not include one thing… non-combat-awakened.
These people are slightly rarer, but they are still numerous, the only reason why there aren’t a lot of them is mainly because of two reasons… first, even if someone with this type of class awakens, most of the people would not live their lives as production awakened, because even if they do make a lot of money, they are also highly sought after, their lives are also in constant danger because they usually do not have much power, and find themselves constantly dealing with other awakened…
And second, even those who decide to embark on this path do not always have success, it requires both talent and dedication, just like magic.
So, to rank people with production classes or special occupations, many other lists have been created, like the alchemist rankings, or the blacksmithing rankings…
These rankings are based on the product they can create:
If they can produce (low) common-rank products, they are considered G-ranks, the equivalent of Tier-0 mages, and then the following products equal these ranks:
Common (medium)=F-rank
Common (high)=E-rank
Common (top)=D-rank
Rare (low)=C-rank
Rare (medium)=B-rank
Rare (high)=A-rank
Rare (top)=S-rank
…
The first place on the blacksmithing rankings is occupied by someone I know very well…
S-rank blacksmith,
Title: Hephaestus.
Other than his blacksmithing skills, his fighting ability is also ranked S, but he is just an anomaly, usually the two rankings are completely different.
Also, production classes have the difficulty of having to level up.
Even if people always say the experience they require to level up is less than normal awakened, it isn’t confirmed, and people still struggle since they are forced to hunt lower-ranked beasts, or catch their prey with traps… some even hire parties to help them hunt while leaving them the last hit.
This is all inconvenient, but just like the others, they need high stats to do their work as awakened, and they need to level up to achieve them.
For example endurance and strength for blacksmiths and dexterity and wisdom for alchemists.
The reason why even the highest rank production classes are just S-class while other types of awakened have already reached and surpassed the SS-rank is because of this…
Hephaestus has a huge advantage over the others because his fighting skills keep up with his level, allowing him to hunt beasts who give him lots of experience points.
But… If Aiden were to advance to a unique class related to alchemy, it would allow him to increase his stats without having to fight, and create the perfect synergy… these unique classes… seem to be the perfect fit for production types.’
“Brother… is everything okay?”
“Oh… yes, I was just thinking about something and I spaced out a bit…
It’s incredible that you can already do this… keep up the good work”
Aiden smiled and then poured the finished product into a little bottle.
“Here, keep it”
He said, handing it to his brother.
“What? No, absolutely not! you made it I would never take it for free”
“It’s fine, it’s fine”
Aiden insisted.
“Then.. At least let me pay you for the ingredients…”
“It’s fine, I took them from the Academy”
“There must be something I can do right?”
Hans asked, finally accepting the potion.
“Well… in that case…”
A few hours later…
“B-brother, I asked for a new distiller…”
“Oh… you see, I went to buy the distiller, but then I began talking with the employee, and I discovered that producer classes can’t shine without a personal workshop…
It makes sense, how did you even make something like that potion on a normal stove with homemade equipment?”
“Well… just for that reason… you bought an entire lab?!…”
Aiden asked in shock.
But Hans replied solemnly.
“Yes”
