Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 232
Chapter 232: Discouraging
[…
Evaluation:
High SS-rank—>peak SS-rank / low SSS-rank]
The armor that stood in her way was now destroyed, and she had a clear view of the target she meant to hit…
‘With this…
Pant… pant…
you’re done!’
She blinked once as she stepped back to prepare one last attack, and when she opened her eyes, Hans, who seemed to have passed out, had his eyes wide open, staring at her with a grin on his face.
‘What’s there to laugh about?! You’re-‘
Something… had changed.
She couldn’t tell what it was, but the world felt strange, her body was acting strange…
What was it?…
‘It doesn’t matter!… whatever it is, this is the last time you’ll look at me with those eyes!’
She crouched a little bit before leaping forward, ready to end the fight.
But…
‘Wh-what is this?!…
I am… floating?!’
She was floating five meters above the floor, and her body didn’t show any signs of falling back down.
Panicking, she turned towards Hans and saw that the boy was still laughing.
However, more than that… he still hadn’t touched the ground.
‘What the hell… is happening right now?’
She, who could not find the answer, was now at the mercy of the orchestrator of this whole situation, who couldn’t help but smile in amazement.
‘Just as I thought…
this works!’
Tier six gravity magic:
…
Anti-gravitational room.
Hans was now a couple of centimeters from the ground, and by simply turning around, he had a clear view of his opponent.
‘This thing… drains my mana incredibly fast… maybe in peak condition I could hold it for a full minute, however, even five seconds are enough for me to end this.
Haha… this sure feels good… winning with a lot of effort is way funnier.’

“We’ve dragged this out long enough, haven’t we?”
Hans said enthusiastically, as a dozen of fireballs appeared around them.
‘I have already won, so I see no trouble in using spells that don’t belong to the gravity path…
Also, my mana’s draining at an absurd pace, maybe I shouldn’t have talked so much’
A fearful expression appeared on the woman’s face as her eyes widened in shock, she had just realized what was forming all around her…
“You crazy ba-”
“Boom!”
Altogether, the thirteen fire spells that were floating beside her blew up, stopping her from saying what she wanted to.
{fire bomb}(tier-6)
The smoke caused by the spells soon engulfed the whole training room and Hans covered himself with a mana barrier to avoid breathing any of it.
“Haha… too bad… you were quite good”
He said as he watched the girl’s body fall to the ground.
It stood on the same spot on the floor, seemingly lifeless, and after making sure that she was knocked out, Hans fell with his butt to the ground.
‘Quite good my *ss… she was… really fricking strong!’
“Pant… pant… pant…”
Hans panted heavily while lying on the floor now that no one could see him.
He wanted to make sure not to show any weakness against Chloe so that she would lose the psychological battle other than the physical, but he was extremely stressed.
‘Have I gone mad… I risked my life just because I was set on beating her with my gravity spells…’
‘She wouldn’t have killed him’ most normal people would think, however, Hans, who had seen her fierce eyes as she prepared herself for that last stab… thought differently.
He felt like… she wouldn’t have hesitated to end him.
‘Still… it’s true what they say… fighting difficult battles really does give you ten times the results…’
Hans was in awe as he observed the floating screens standing in front of his nose…
To be exact, there were two of them, and they wrote:
[congratulations, you have created a new spell, the spell {anti-gravitational room} has been stored under the gravity path!]
[congratulations! You have grasped the essence of a new element, and you have obtained the skill: {space confinement}(tier-1).
As you do not possess enough skills belonging to the space element, a space path will not be created.]
{anti-gravitational room (tier-6)
Spell element: gravity
Spell Description:
This spell allows its caster to defy gravity, constantly supplying enough mana to retain an opposite gravitational pull is almost unbearable, thankfully, this spell can be used in a much easier way when combined with space confinement spells.
Spell effect:
No gravitational pull is applied to any of the objects or living beings inside the spell’s range.}
{space confinement (tier-1)
Spell element: space
Spell Description:
This spell takes hold of a portion of space and rips it out of the space it is currently residing in.
When used in combination with certain spells it can greatly enhance their power and effectiveness.
With the increase in the spell’s rank, the mana consumption will decrease, and the space will become more solidified, as of now, an average D-rank attack to the spell’s border would be enough to destroy the balance of the spell and cancel it.
Spell’s effect:
Creates a space isolated from the outside world which can be broken by a strong enough slash or hit.}
Still catching his breath, Hans watched the two spells’ descriptions amazed…
‘I was aware that something like this existed since I’ve talked about it with Caleb but… to think I would manage to get a hold of a space spell… and on my own… without the system’s help.
I would like to call him out and help me experiment with these new spells, but it’s better if I don’t waste any more of my mana… my head is already starting to ache.’
Keeping his excitement at bay for the moment, Hans had to wait for the girl to wake up since the key was on her body.
He did consider searching for it a few times, but If she were to wake up as he did that, it could’ve caused a misunderstanding, so he just settled with meditating to recover a part of his lost mana.
Almost two hours later, Chloe’s eyes opened.
Her eyelids felt heavy as she tried to split them apart…
As soon as she opened her eyes, the light in the room was too much for her to see anything, it took her a couple of seconds to get used to it and finally recognize the man seated in front of her.
“You up?”
A not-so-friendly voice asked her.
But she wasn’t focused on answering, as it took her a while to figure out the situation.
‘So in the end… I lost.
All that time I spent trying to figure out a way to get stronger… was it all useless?
Master took me in because of my abilities… how much more disgraceful are you going to be?… Chloe’
She was not in the right mind…
Trying your best and failing is not the most pleasant experience a human could have, but going beyond your best and still being far from reaching your goal was simply… discouraging.
She felt beaten…
As if she had lost her purpose.
While tears formed in the corner of her eyes, Hans’s voice put a halt to her thoughts.
“Do you mind taking me out of here now? You’ve been down here for quite a while, I feel like I shouldn’t waste so much time in here”
Hans’s jet was still waiting for him at the airport, after all, New York was but a stop in his travel, the real destination awaited him beyond the Atlantic.
“How did you do it?…
The girl asked, not listening to Hans’s question.
“Hey, do you mind replying? I was the first one to ask a question”
“How did your attack hit me? My frozen defense was active, and it didn’t get pierced…
Just how-”
Snapping his finger in front of her face, Hans managed to get the woman’s head back on her shoulders.
She watched the young man confused as if she were seeing an alien.
“Hey! Come on, reply won’t you?”
“W-”
“Don’t stand there dumbfounded, get up, didn’t you have to bring me to Elijah?”
Hearing that man’s name, she finally got up from the ground, and she led him to the elevator without uttering a single word.
She was silent, and her mind was aching and confused.
Just standing still proved to be a difficulty for the few seconds it took to get back up from the underground level.
They then walked towards another elevator, which was supposed to be the one to take them to Elijah’s resting room.
While they waited for the lift, Hans spewed a few words to interrupt the awkward silence:
“If you’re fine now… I suggest checking your status window”
This comment immediately caught Chloe’s attention, who did as told and opened up her status window to check for any changes.
“?!”
Even though she didn’t speak, her face showed everything there was to see.
‘What is this?! Is this really… my status?
My swordsmanship and…
this skill…’
The girl was shocked by the changes she found in her status.
That’s right! In those few instances at the end of our fight… I… achieved sword aura!’
She was frozen in place, and since Hans didn’t want to wait for her to snap out of it, Hans simply passed by her, only when he was in the elevator did he call her out:
“Hey! The door’s closing”
He said nonchalantly.
And the girl, still shocked by what she had just seen, replied a few seconds later.
“I, I’m coming!”
