Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 262
Chapter 262: A Desperate Search
“So I just have to heal him huh?”
A blond woman asked, even though no one else was inside the room other than the body of a half-dead teenager.
To be precise, it was Hans’s body which was laid on a medical bed with only a veil covering its private parts.
A voice talked through the speaker standing on one of the high corners of the room:
“Can you do it?”
The voice said.
It was different from the voice of the old man she had heard earlier, it was a woman’s voice.
After a few seconds, the woman inside the room replied:
“Mph! Of course, who do you think I am?”
“But… how can I know you’re going to keep your word after I heal the boy?”
The woman’s annoyed expression turned into a threatening one as she glanced at the one-way mirror stationed on the wall behind her back.
She had been kidnapped and she was now in the base of one of the most powerful and fearsome organizations on the planet, and yet she still dared to threaten the people she was dealing with…
Such confidence befitted one of the honorary leaders of the association.
Emma, who was hiding behind that mirror, held the microphone in her hands as she calmly replied:
“I knew you were quite lazy…. I didn’t know you were also blind.
Look at the boy, and figure it out yourself…
However, I must tell you, heal him before doing anything, or you will face the consequences of breaking your deal with the night market…”
“Thump”
After a loud thump, the annoying sound of screeching that could be heard from a broken microphone resounded through the room, and the blond woman inside the room understood that the person on the other side of the mirror wasn’t open for any other conversation.
With that in mind, she began analyzing the boy’s body.
‘Figure it out by myself?…’
She analyzed the wound first of all.
‘Quite a rude wound… probably caused by a low-ranking monster…
This probably means this guy mustn’t be that strong, so why have me heal him?…
Maybe they just want to observe my healing abilities… that’s the most probable explanation, which would also explain why I’ve been kidnapped…
But what does this boy have that could satisfy my previous request?…
Was that just a way to get me to heal him?’
The woman began analyzing other things…
First off, the boy’s body was quite incredible, he looked like a young man, and not even that strong, but his body surpassed the one of an average high-ranking awakened.
Secondly, his skin was just as tanned as hers, and his face made her feel a strange sense of familiarity…

‘It feels as if I’ve seen this boy somewhere…’
Was her first thought as soon as she looked at his black hair and his emotionless face.
His eyelids were closed, hiding his amber pupils, otherwise, she might’ve recognized the boy.
However, her attention was soon drawn by something else…
His earrings.
She couldn’t believe it, just seeing them hypnotized her…
‘Those crazy bastards…. This is how you were going to grant my request?!’
Her arm moved forward as her hand pointed at the earrings, she was ready to rip them out of the boy’s ears and take them for herself when she remembered the conditions set by the night market.
Barely managing to snap out of her daze and think with a cold head, she decided to do what she had been told to do…
‘Since they told me that I should heal him before doing anything, it must mean that after I’ve healed him I can go ahead and take what I’ve come here for…’
With a clear plan in mind, she gazed at the mirror one last time before getting to work… the earlier she managed to heal the boy, the earlier she would get what she wanted…
It happened three months earlier…
Eleni Christou, an angel sent from heaven on earth… because of her incredible healing powers, and her angelic face, she was given the title of Goddes’ hands, and her position was raised to that of an honorary leader of the association.
Publicly, her life was blooming, however, for her as a person, living was getting harder and harder…
And what was at fault was her own body, or in other words, her own innate constitution, the stronger her powers grew the higher her innate constitution’s impact on her.
Due to this constitution, she had two different types of lives… in one, she was the laziest person on the planet, whereas, in the other, she was filled to the brim with energy.
However, the problem was another: the only way to switch between the two….
Was sleeping.
Her problem, however, was getting worse than she could ever imagine.
The only way she woke up was with a strong external interaction, like a loud alarm clock or a cold touch.
What would happen if she wasn’t woken up by those means? Curious to try it, Eleni decided to go to sleep without setting her alarm.
She slept soundly… for hours… days… until nine days later, her assistant broke inside her house to wake her.
She was found almost lifeless, her body malnourished by the countless days she passed without eating and drinking.
Had she been a normal person, she would’ve died in her sleep.
And when she finally woke up… she realized, that her life was now on a countdown…
When she first awakened, and her innate constitution manifested for the first time, even in her lazy state, she could work and live a normal life, so every day she had a different energy.
But as time passed, it became almost impossible for her to stay awake more than two hours when in her lazy cycle, and as she was now, ten to twenty minutes was the most she could handle, and only if she didn’t do anything.
Interacting with people and moving around shortened that time even more.
However, even if her lazy self ceased to exist, that wouldn’t affect her, there was something else that worried her…
The more her lazy self became unable to move… the more it became difficult for her to wake up from her sleep.
It had already become a huge issue, to the point where it took almost half a minute for her to notice the ice placed on her neck and wake up.
If it continued like that, and her innate constitution was left to worsen, a day might come…. When she would fall asleep not knowing she would never wake up.
Because of that, she began searching for a cure…
Ironically, she, who was called the goddess’ hands, and was said to be the person who could heal any wound, couldn’t find a way to ‘cure’ herself.
Without much time left, she got in touch with an organization no foreign ever dared meddle with…
The Chinese titan that reigned over all the sects and guilds that emerged after the catastrophe…
Tiān zōng.
Also referred to as the heavenly sect.
Chinese guilds, much like Russian ones, had built an independent system, that didn’t interact much with the association.
However, as the years passed, notorious criminals repeatedly escaped from China into foreign territories and vice versa, and the two leading forces, respectively the heavenly sect and the association, were forced to form some kind of agreement.
Because of that agreement, most of the Chinese sects’ and guilds’ higher-ups were elected as honorary leaders of the association, and all honorary leaders of the associations were to be treated as honorary guests of the heavenly sky sect.
Because of that, Eleni managed to receive an audience from someone whose fame was just as great and deserved as hers…
China’s most famous and skilled physician and great elder of the heavenly sky sect…. The heavenly doctor.
However, her hopes shattered when she discovered that even such a figure could not help her with her problem.
But not all hopes were lost, the meeting she had with the heavenly physician held some results…
With his expertise in medicine, her incredible healing magic, and the help of another elder of the heavenly sect, they might have been able to create an array that would destroy her lazy side without killing her right off the bat.
This process wasn’t without any cost though… an array core was required for such a process.
The best material that would be able to act as a mana catalyst for such a crazy attempt would be a dragon scale.
Due to the properties of Eleni’s mana, a golden dragon’s scale would be the best catalyst.
Dragons are incredibly powerful and fearsome beings, thankfully, not many had appeared, and even less golden dragons… actually, there had only been one.
After the raid of the golden dragon was completed, the scales were deemed worthless compared to the incredible effort and losses many guilds had to face in order to take it down and were sold in a dark auction held by the night market, to end up in the hands of an unknown buyer…
But now… they were right in front of her! The scales she had been searching for months were finally about to fall into her hands…
All she had to do was heal a boy.
