Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 278
Chapter 278: MAVI
Hans caressed Ember’s slender body as he sat on the leather seat of his jet.
His gaze was lost in the distance and his mind was wandering amongst a sea of thoughts.
He had to figure out a way to utilize his powers better than he could at the moment, and he also had to fill the gap he was lacking by learning and creating a lot of new spells.
The current state of his spells was this:
{Fire path}(tier-7)
{ice path}(tier-7)
{wind path}(tier-6)
{gravity path}(tier-5)
{water path}(tier-5)
{earth path}(tier-5)
{light path}(tier-5)
{thunder’s path}(tier-4)
{nature’s path}(tier-4)
Clearly an incredible list for any mage, and a great peak in the fire and ice spells… but that was nowhere near close to being enough for what Hans hoped to achieve before even calling himself a proper eight-tier mage.
He also had to explore the new paths he had discovered, the sound path and the space path, both extremely intricate and rare to find.
The work he had to do was a lot, and now, something else had also come to his mind… he could not be the only one growing, if there was a reason why he had decided to take Ember with him, other than having grown attached to her after so long, was because he thought she could aid him in fight.
This situation had yet to happen because of two things mainly: first of all, Ember was almost always limited to just a few hunts every while, which made it difficult for her to grow her level.
But other than that, the fact that Hans improved so quickly made her growth seem irrelevant when compared to his.
He had to help her level up, but while doing so, he would lose precious time that he could use to improve himself.
It was simply too inefficient.
However, if he could find someone who would take care of Ember for him while he did his research inside the association’s central library…
That would be the best… and turns out that…
“Wow… something like that exists?”
Hans was browsing through his phone, searching for someone who could provide the service he needed…
“It does exist but…”
Hans was full of doubt as he watched the review section…
[0 reviews]
It had been open for more than three weeks, and yet no one had left a single review?…
That wasn’t exactly what you would call a safe choice…
‘Do I have a choice tho? It’s the only place in the whole world that offers something like that, so I’m kind of forced to choose it, let’s see where it is…
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
London huh?…
Alright, I’ll pass by London before starting my research, and since I’m there I might as well check that “perfect mage”‘s guild.
was it blue waves? Something along those lines maybe…
Didn’t I have an improved memory? Maybe it doesn’t work for useless information.’
And so, Hans’s schedule for the next few weeks was already set.
First of all, he would pass by Brussels, he had read online that there were some conditions one had to meet in order to enter the library he wanted to access, and he wanted to discover what they were.
He would then briefly visit London to leave Ember in the hands of someone who would help her grow, and if he had time, he might have also checked the guild that was presumptuous enough to try and force him to join.
Afterward, he would return to Brussels and do everything in his power to grow his abilities and improve his spells.
‘Seems like a decent plan of action doesn’t it?… let’s see if it runs smoothly’
He joked inwardly speaking to Caelan.
“That’s a no-no… now’s definitely not going to run smoothly”
Caelan replied, causing Hans to let out a brief chuckle.
Hearing someone as noble as Caelan talking like a mom angry at her ten-month-old son had a special kind of irony to it.
It took a few hours, but Hans’s plane finally landed in Brussels.
He was as good as new since he had spent the past two hours meditating.
As he got off the plane, Ember wrapped herself around his torso.
She was almost invisible under his baggy clothes.
“Thanks for the work”
He said to the pilot as soon as the cabin opened.
“What for? I’m getting paid so it’s only natural for it to be like this”
“Well, you could have met someone who traveled a lot less”
“Haha… I guess so, but I became a pilot because I liked it, it would be sad to sit on my ass all year”
“Well, I’m glad you take it so positively because otherwise, you might swear at me tomorrow”
Hans joked, but when he heard this information, the pilot’s mouth curved into a warm smile as he replied:
“Where do you have to go?”
“I need a flight to London, and then I need to come back here the following day, can you work things out?”
Even if Hans asked, he was talking casually, as he would to a friend, and he was sure that his pilot wouldn’t let him down.
“Of course…
I’ll send you the details as soon as it’s settled.”
Hans walked out of the plane with a smile stamped on his face…
It was strange how someone whose name he barely knew had become one of the people he spent the most time with.
And one of the few people he could trust…
And it was also sad to think that he felt like his jet’s pilot was more honest than Emma…
This time, no car was waiting for him as soon as he landed.
He thought he was supposed to walk all the way to the terminal, but couldn’t be bothered with it, so he instead decided to fly to the city by himself.
His pilot’s eyes almost popped out of his skull when he saw Hans fly away.
‘What the fuck? Humans… can do that?!
…
…
Oh well…
Awakened are awakened I guess.
They’re a different breed’
Hans found the strong wind resistance annoying so he decided to cast a barrier even if it reduced his speed.
It didn’t even take a quarter of an hour for him to reach the city center, where thousands of people were roaming the city, looking around the shops and admiring the various buildings and statues…
Hans was high up in the sky, covered by his stealth as he observed everything happening beneath him.
“The city is one thing but…
You can’t miss it can you?”
Hans whispered as he raised his chin.
Inside his head, Caelan couldn’t help but ask:
“What… the fuck is that?”
It must’ve been almost half a dozen kilometers away from Hans, but he could still see it clearly… hundreds of meters in the sky, a massive floating island stood… casting most of the city neighborhoods that stood under it in a thick shadow.
On top of the island, a majestic tower prevailed over all the other modern-style buildings.
An immense bright and warm luster caused by the setting sun was mirrored off the tower’s glass surface, blinding the boy as he tried to gaze at the structure.
He released his barrier, letting the strong breeze caress his body and his hair whip around.
Caelan found it amazing, and he wasn’t the only one…
None of the two could imagine humanity was capable of building anything close to what they were seeing, and yet it was there… in front of their eyes…
Telling they were astonished is nowhere near enough to express their feelings right that moment.
It was the first time Hans had visited that place…
The headquarters of the most powerful Organization in the whole world…
The marvel of magic engineering and arrays…
The pandora’s box that contained all knowledge held by the Association…
The world’s most advanced and admired structure…
MAVI.
“Seeing it like this… it makes me feel like I am not even worthy of getting up there”
Hans said.
“Don’t worry, you definitely aren’t worthy of getting up there”
Caelan reassured him, getting on his nerves.
“Let’s see then…”
Hans sprinted forward by using his wind spell {repulsion}, and in less than a few minutes, he reached his first obstacle.
He didn’t know and didn’t want to know about the procedures he should have taken to get up there, and since online no one mentioned anything, he decided to mess around and find out.
He was flying hundreds of meters above ground level, and standing in his way towards the MAVI was a mana barrier… or to be more specific… an array.
It was incredible… It was… different.
Different from his mana barrier, different from Lansen’s perfect barrier…
It was a totally different kind of barrier…
It was made up of intricate laws and rules, and everything that wanted to pass had to abide by that rule….
If Hans could make a comparison, while a normal barrier was like a great wall to avoid anyone unwanted inside, then an array would be something along the lines of a…
