Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 62
Secret personality
It didn’t take too much for the two of them to reach the reception, where the receptionist watched them astonished.
They were well dressed, and the aura they exuded was far from normal, he, as a B-rank awakened could certainly see, but there was something more unusual about them, in front of them, there was no one leading the way.
“Did they… come here by themselves?” Asked himself the receptionist.
“For what reason would they do that? Is something wrong with the hotel? Or maybe..”
Thinking about many possibilities, the man’s hand approached the hilt of a sword, he was keeping below the desk.
Hans waked towards him, not stopping.
Just as the man was about to unleash his sword, Hans asked:
“Could you kindly tell us the location of the dining room?”
“Huh?”
Letting go of the sword and returning to his previous position, the man replied sweating from his forehead.
“Yes, the dining room is located on the second floor under the surface, you can take that elevator, go up to the fourth floor, walk straight, on the third turn left, left and then right, afterwards take the elevator on the left and proceed to the second….
After about three minutes of spewing information, the man stopped talking.
Kenta’s mouth was open, with his body petrified, ‘what, kind of f*cking employee knows that much?
How does long does it take to study all this? I guess now I know why this place costs so damn much’
‘Also, how the hell are we supposed to remember allat-‘
Hans walked away, thanking the man.
“All right, thank you for your help.”
Kenta watched with alienating eyes as to say ‘you got that on the first try?’
The man at the reception watched the two people backs, wondering who they could possibly be.
‘That man.. he was at least as powerful as me’ he thought, thinking of Kenta, as for the other, he’s a gifted youngster, to think I couldn’t even discern his level, could he possibly be close to S-rank?
How come I have never heard anything about such an amazing person.
Wait! Maybe I have, I heard that these days we are hosting the participants of the association branch leaders meeting, could that young man have been.. Hans Ritcher.
I guess I’ll have to check with the boss late-
“Umh, excuse me” said a man stopping his thoughts.
The man was huge, almost measuring up to double a normal person, with sculptured and polished muscles.
His study glasses stood out, adding a sense of elegance to his rough body.
“Could I get a room?”
…
It took a few minutes, but they finally got to see the dining hall, elegant and huge, it could hold at least a hundred people.
The abundant and mouth watering plates were carried by a dozen waiters, that rushed around, moving swiftly.

“Hans, these people!”
“Yes , I know”
Every single one of the waiters was at least C-rank, with the exception of two B-rank.
And standing at the entrance of the hall was a well dressed middle aged man, and the {mystic insight} revealed his rank to be the highest out of everyone he had met in this building til now: low A-rank.
“Welcome gentlemen” greeted the man, that stuttered a bit after noticing there wasn’t anyone guiding the both of them.
“We are here from room 417 and 418, could you guide us to a table?”
It was already quite late into the night, and not many people were seated, only about thirty, occupying a third of the available tables.
As they sat down, and observed the various options written on the menu, Kenta, moved by his curiosity, asked Hans for his plan regarding the next few days.
‘The event lasts three nights, the first one will be spent inside of a discussion room, the second night will be organized in a different room, always inside the association, where various branch leaders will have a chance to propose new projects for the following year, while the others will object or take part in it.
As for the third night, a banquet will be held, quite unnecessary if you ask me.
Anyways, it’s a great opportunity to create connections with various powerful individuals, a normal branch leader would definitely beg and hope for such things, but I..
“I don’t have one”
“Haaa, sure sure, I guess I’m still not trustworthy enough for you.
Then can you at least tell me what we’ll do tomorrow?”
Hans, annoyed by the fact that his words were taken as a lie, almost gave out to the urge of firing spells at Kenta until turning him into a pulp, but decided to hold it, for the sake of both his image in front of all these people and to avoid any troubles.
“Haaa, forget it, I really do not have any plan, but I do know what we’ll be doing tomorrow”
Kenta lowered the menu, ready to hear the information.
“I’ll go to the association tomorrow evening, you can come if you’d like”
“What for?”
“That’s a secret, definitely not something I would tell someone as untrustworthy for me as you”
Replied Hans, picking on Kenta’s rude words from earlier.
The one who had just fearlessly spoken about Hans, almost making fun of him, was now watching away and covering his eyes with the menu, sweating just at the thought of meeting Han’s gaze.
They ordered some relatively normal dishes, and soon returned to their resting rooms led by Hans, passing from the reception, since that was the only way he knew.
When they arrived in front of their rooms, Kenta waited for Hans to open his door first.
And the other, who noticed this, stared at him.
“What are you waiting for?” Asked Hans.
“Your room, I want to see if it’s the same as mine”
“Goodnight”
Said coldly Hans before closing the the wooden door behind him, but Kenta soon stopped him with both his hands.
“I was just joking, I was just joking, please wait a minute, I have something to ask you”
“Make it quick”
Hans stopped moving forward, and turned around, watching Kenta right in the irises while laying his right shoulder on the wall..:,
The blonde man talked like he usually did, not trying to sound friendly nor intimidating:
“Since at the table many ears were listening from the moment you started talking about the association, I decided to not ask about it any further, but you should really tell me now that we’re alone.
Why do you plan on going to the association before the meeting?”
Thinking he had worried for such a stupid question made Hans’ brain hurt.
“Haa, fine if you really want to know I’ll tell you”
Just hearing this brightened the other’s face, but that quickly changed.
Kenta’s eyes were like fishes’s ones, dead, without any passion, and his soul was barely fighting to stay inside his body.
In the middle of his holed cheeks, out of his rusty lips, a whisper managed to escape:
” so what you’re saying is. … that the reason why you want to stay at the association before the gathering … is to read?”
“Mh” nodded Hans.
The blond man remained as lively as a sloth, talking to himself.
“No, it can’t be, I finally thought I had found something interesting, why? why did it have to be just useless books?
A secret lover would’ve been way more interesting, even a sibling or a childhood friend.
It was just.. books.”
Seeing this pathetic Kenta, Hans decided it was about time for him to go to bed, so he closed the door, leaving outside the idiot talking to himself.
Hans laid on the bed, thinking about his helper’s strange personality.
The more he got to know him, the stranger he became.
While in the room beside his, Kenta was using all the neurons he could muster.
“Something, anything, there has to be! it’s impossible for a human to be flawless!”
Truthfully, even back in his own country, Kenta was considered a genius.
Only three years from his awakening , he had already broken through B-rank, making him one of the strongest awakened warriors of his country for that time.
But not long afterwards, under various circumstances, he was forced to flee, leaving the country to protect his life.
When he arrived in America, he had lost his home, family, and money.
But with continuous hardship and challenges, he managed to climb the social pyramid of the underworld, returninrg to a position similiar to his previous.
Money, power, respect, and he even had a pretty face, he thought highly of himself, thinking he only was special, but one day, a boy five years younger then him popped up from nowhere, opening the eyes of the frog in the well.
