Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 74
Chapter 74: Entrance ceremony
“Dear students,I would like to introduce myself.
I am currently covering the position of dean for this academy, but I am originally the Los Angeles branch association leader.
For the next five years, if you deserve it, this will be your home, as for those who won’t make it, I can only say I pity you, because you have lost your chance to become one of the recognised students of the academy, the future of our country!
I’ll make a brief explanation of the whole school system:
As you all may have already noticed, the age of the students varies from fourteen to seventeen comprehended, meaning all the students belong to one of these ages.
You will be divided in two categories, one for those who are fourteen or fifteen years old, and the other for those who are sixteen and seventeen years old .
For the youngest, worry not, as the two courses will offer the same final preparation, the only thing that’ll chance is the method, given your different bodies and mentality with the passage of the years.
If anyone holds any unresolved questions , you are more then welcomed to ask the teachers whenever you feel comfortable.
Since today is a very special day, no lessons will be held, you will receive your monthly allowance right now.
“Clap, clap” the woman clapped twice, and many butlers came out of the backstage, all of them holding various black boxes, about the same size as a pencil case.
Your monthly allowance will be given to you through these.”
She then opened one of the boxes, and inside it was an electronic watch.
“You can pay for everything you want using this inside the academy, but they won’t work outside, so you better not try to sneak out and spend your entire allowance, because we’ll know it.
And also, worry not, as inside this facility there is everything anyone could ever wish for, we are of the idea that giving freedom to the students is better than forcing them to do something they don’t want to do.
For the same reason, no class are compulsory.”
“Woah” the eyes of all the students lit up, while they chatted amongst themselves.
“That’s crazy, I thought I would’ve been forced to take the science class”
“Fortunately not, it’s such a boring subject”
“FR”
In the meantime, Lily Adams, the genius researcher that covered the position of science teacher, did her best in holding back, to avoid walking there and cracking open the skills of the two students.
When the small chats finally quietened down, the dean began speaking again:
As for the rest of the informations, you can read about them on the watch.
The devices were distributed to everyone present in the room, and when handed over to the teachers, some of them noticed something strange.
Their reaction were different, Caleb Harris completely crushed the watch with his bare hands, while Lily Adams just left it on the armrest of her seat.
As for the others who noticed something, they just put it on without bothering too much about it.
Seeing the other’s reactions Hans was now curious about what could possibly be inside that watch.
When his turn finally arrived, and the watch was handed over to him, he watched it carefully, {mystic insight}
[item name: electric watch third generation
Description: a watch produced with one of the most expensive materials, it has various uses, one of them being tracking the position of the wearer through the use of a talisman planted inside it]
‘What the hell are you thinking right now?”

Thought Hans watching the LA branch leader that was currently on stage.
‘There is no way she doesn’t know the teachers will notice.
Then why, why would she risk to offend so many powerful people, was it just a prank? or was it to test us?
No!!!
None of the two, she did it on purpose! to alert us of the fact that the students are always being tracked.
It is a way of telling us without getting us involved.
In short, she’s doing us a favour, but… I’m afraid some of us may not understand it’
Hans watched Caleb Harris atrocious gaze pointing at the dean, that was actually quite confused by his reaction.
After all, he always boasted about being such a smart person, and the way he carried himself made him look like an intellectual.
Hans still didn’t like being tracked, so he infused the right spot with his fire mana, and made it heat up until the tracker talisman got burned.
The ceremony soon concluded, and all the students rushed outside.
Like a flock of birds released from a cage, they quickly spread all around the place, and begun exploring all the shops around the place.
Students were given an allowance of three thousand points, that were the same as three thousand dollars, while the teachers, other than their extremely high pay, were given fifteen thousand credits every month, but in case the points run out, they would have to pay with their own money, so everyone had to balance out what they wanted to buy with what they needed to buy.
Hans gave it no attention, and quickly got back to his room to meditate, while the other teachers also looked around for a way to spend the points they had just gotten.
The science teacher entered a shop that sold lab equipment, while the physical education teacher entered a shop that sold weights, dumbbells, and other various training tools.
In all that chaos, Aiden was just searching for Hans, but not being able to find him, he decided to group up with some of the guys the same age as him.
While some people were used to having this much money, and some even thought it was too little, a timid girl standing right in front of the main building couldn’t help but stare at the number written on her watch.
“Wow~
Th-this is too much”
The next morning, Hans finished his meditation, and got up.
He clenched his fist, and watching it proudly he thought:
‘I can now use about 10% of my remaining mana, it’s not that much but I should barely be able to cast a tier-3 spell’
He dressed up, and started walking towards the main building.
In his hands were some papers and a textbook, apparently, people had already developed textbooks about magic and the history of magic.
During the stroll he took while heading to the classroom, the chilly air of February refreshed his mind.
Inside a classroom, about thirty students seated, leaving more than forty empty seats.
It wasn’t a surprise since the total number of students in the academy didn’t surpass two hundreds, and many weren’t interested in magic, much less able to use it.
The age of the students varied from fourteen to fifteen, they were all member of the second class, composed by the youngest members.
When Hans entered the classroom, a few seconds of silence accompanied him while he placed the papers in his hand on the table.
The feeling of the student were mixed, on one side, Hans was handsome and young, on the other, Hans was too young, and it looked like being taught by their older brother.
Some really doubted his abilities, especially an arrogant kid in the back with blonde hairs and green eyes, that looked at him with disdain.
‘Tch, I hoped I could listen to some useful teachings but they put someone here just to fill in.
I won’t come to this lesson the next time.’
While others, like the timid girl, that was one of the only people seated in the first row, were really curious about him.
‘Wow, he’s a teacher at that age?
Maybe if I graduate fast enough I could do it too’
“Mh Mh” Hans cleared his throat, signaling the start of his lesson.
“Pleasure to meet you, my name’s Hans.
Some of you might’ve heard of me, as I have recently covered the position of branch leader of the Chicago association Branch”
The eyes of the kids became a little bit more interested after hearing about this, and their attention was easily captured.
“Since you have applied to this lesson, it must mean that you know what we’re going to talk about right?”
The girl in the first row raised her hand to respond, but before Hans could give her the nod, someone from the back answered without raising his hand.
“It’s the basic magic class isn’t it?”
Saying it was the blonde guy who was previously glaring at Hans.
Hans was bothered by this student’s lack of manners, but he let it slide for this time.
“That is right, this is the basic magic class, thank you for your answer Ryan.
It might be my fault for not telling you, but raise your hands in my classroom before speaking, otherwise you’ll start talking over each other, and I won’t hear any of you.”
“This guy… how does he know my name”
The young guy was surprised, and almost fell back while tipping on his chair.
