Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 86
Chapter 86: Unwelcomed Visitor
“Ha..haha, I would like to reply with a simple yes but I don’t even know myself anymore”
Having lost the first two rounds, the warrior class morale was in the dust.
Trying to lift it up once again, the strongest awakened came forth.
The one who had acted as the leader of the group, and facing off against him was Colton Hayes, possibly one of the strongest participants from the mage class.
Not childish like the previous contestant, they remained silent until the the start of the match, soon announced by one of the other students.
While Colton was an expert in ice magic, judging from his weapon, the opponent was presumably a swordsman.
“Fight!”
Colton immediately started his casting, while the blonde haired guy rushed forward, not worried about evading the mage’s sight, but his spells.
When the distance between them had shortened, the first ice spell was finally ready.
And surprisingly, it wasn’t just any spell.
(tier-3 spell) {ice trident}
The spell was launched forward, quickly moving towards the opponent’s body, threatening his life.
‘This spell?!’ Even he had remained astonished by the magic, it was probably about the same level as a D-rank warrior’s attack.
‘I won’t back down! I won’t lose to a mage, I trust myself!’
He made the reckless decision of taking the attack head on.
As his blade was about to come in contact with the ice spell, two hands grabbed both the weapon, stopping them from touching.
A middle aged man had appeared in between the upcoming clash.
His hairs were black, slightly stained by the age’s withering white, and he wore a pair of reading glasses, kept on the tip of his pale nose.
“Well well well, what do we have here?
I was told that the teachers were my objective.
But I guess that they’ll understand if I report that some kids got in the way, right?”
Panic.
Everyone thought that they had been discovered by one of the teachers, and that they would’ve all faced disciplinary punishment.
The first one to gather enough courage to try and flee was a student of the warriors class, that shouted: “run!!”
He then began sprinting away, trying to escape from the “teacher”
However, the man remained calm and composed.
He waited about three seconds and then said:
“Run? I don’t think that’s something you’ll manage to do”
A stream of blood came out of the little jar hung on the man’s belt.
The red fluid followed the student, reaching him in less than a second.

Before he could even get the chance to move out of the way, the blood enveloped his neck, lifting the tip of his toes off the ground.
The student put all his strength in freeing his neck from the hold, but wasn’t successful.
As his neck was being strangled, the oxygen in his lungs began to lack.
He tried to breathe with all his energy, but not a single breath could be taken.
In front of him, paralyzed, all the other students were watching him suffer, unable to provide any help.
Only one person managed to step forward.
The blonde guy that was in the middle of a fight before the arrival of the mysterious man.
He slashed the blood, but obtained no results.
One thing was now clear to all the students:
“This monster… he isn’t from the association!”
Before the guy could ultimately die because of lack of oxygen.
A strong wind repelled the blood away from the student, freeing him from the restraints.
The attention of the man was immediately switched towards the direction of the incoming wind spell.
In the meantime, the sun had already set, and the barely visible moon couldn’t lit up the space in between the thick forest.
From that darkness, a figure appeared, walking slowly towards the students and the man.
As the face still couldn’t be recognized because of the darkness, the man screamed:
“Who are you” feeling threatened by the other side.
“I recognize this mana.. are you perhaps?”
Hans took a step outside the shadows of the trees, and the man exclaimed.
“Haha, I was right! It’s you, Hans richter”
“You… the vice guild leader of the Asura guild?
What exactly do you think you are doing to my students right now?”
The other ignored him and continued talking:
“How lucky! For my target to deliver himself in front of me!
If you really want to know I’ll tell you.
Hans richter, I have come here to kill you”
“Good to know, then, bye bye”
“Huh?”
From high up in the sky, a silhouette partially covered the moon.
It was a man, and he was quickly coming thier way.
When the man noticed the face of the falling warrior, he barely had the time to create a blood barrier.
However, the unstoppable fist of the falling warrior shattered it as if it was made out of paper, and reached the face of the unfriendly visitor.
“Bam!”
He was ferociously slammed on the ground, cracking it.
Then, in between the smoke that rose from the impact, the man that had just come from the sky rose up.
And stood still, watching the students.
When the dust dissipated, they finally recognized him.
“Teacher, thank god you’re here”
“Haaa, we’re alive”
“Teacher’s amazing”
But he coldly replied saying;
“Silence, I’ll deal with you when we return in the academy!”
They all gulped, already afraid of what was about to happen to them.
Caleb switched his attention towards another matter for the moment.
He asked:
“Who is he? Do you know this guys Hans?”
“Kinda, We are from the same city, he used to be the only tier five mage before my ascension”
“Then.. is he here for personal revenge?”
“No, I don’t think so, I only met him once, and he’s the vice guild leader of a famous guild.
Even if I know that you aren’t so interest in knowing other guilds, let me tell you that he’s in the Asura guild.”
“Asura guild… Mh, that does seem to ring a bell”
Beside the two of them talking, some of the others, more precisely, the members of the physical education class, were puzzled.
‘Who is that man? He looks about our age but he can speak casually with the teacher, and also… that wind from before, it looked like a powerful spell.
Could he be a member of the mage class? No, they would’ve made him participate in today’s fight, then… is he perhaps’
The students of the mage class started whining, almost crying.
“Teacher!!”
“I’m sorry teach I didn’t have the chance to fight”
“I taught them a good lesson teacher”
‘Wow.
It was only an hypothesis but he really is the teacher’
Hans calmed down the students and talked with Caleb, whose foot was still standing on the intruder’s chest.
“The problem here isn’t about his position with the guild, but with his guild”
“You mean?” Asked Caleb.
“There are rumors saying they have connections with the Crimson Tyranny.”
Even the unshakable personally of Caleb faltered a bit when hearing this.
“What?! Are you sure?!”
“I wasn’t, but now that it has come down to this.. I’m pretty certain”
“Damn, in that case the whole academy might be under attack right now, we have to go and help!”
“No, calm down, the targets must be the students, if we just manage to keep them safe then we’ve done our job.
Returning right now could cause a lot of panic amongst them, and additional chaos in the building.
We have both our classes here, so it is our best duty as teachers remaining here and guarding them.
Without any of them noticing, a slip of paper slipped from the already suppressed man’s hand.
It flew away in the direction of the academy, traveling so fast that both Hans and Caleb didn’t manage to react in time to stop it.
Even if they didn’t know, written on the paper was a simple phrase:
“The monster is here.
Send n° 2.
Six hundred meters east from the academy, in the woods”
When they noticed the paper, Caleb crushed his stomach even more to stop any of his funny ideas.
However, the man on the ground simply died, incapable of withstanding the pressure.
The muscular man remained surprised.
He turned his head around and looked at Hans, before asking:
“Hey, is it normal for a mage to die so easily, I knew that you were squishy but I never imagined so much
I didn’t force much, a sixth circle magician should’ve been able to take it”
Hans replied to this question saying:
“It’s not all mages that are so weak, but especially him.
Even if he does have six circles, they are unstable, meaning that he has just advanced.
And also, his sixth circle is incredibly small and thin, he probably created it through underhanded means.
If I were to do a comparison.
It would be like building a tower made up of many floors, having to construct another one, and not having any materials left.
He build the last floor with hay, making it impossible for further strengthening and building another floor.”
“So he basically gave up on his future just to create this circle?”
“In a few words… yes”
