Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 88
Chapter 88: Let myself loose
.. if you’re just at this level.. then I guess I’ll let myself loose for the first time in a while”
The shocked eyes of the only sane student watched him, unable to comprehend the meaning behind his words.
‘Let yourself … loose?’
‘Fortunately he isn’t dead’ though Hans, analyzing the almost lifeless body belonging to his fellow teacher.
‘Anyway, what’s up with him?’
Hans watched curious the strange body of his opponent.
‘I’m sure he wasn’t like this the first time I saw him.. what happened?!
Watching his status once again, Hans’ sight stopped at a specific part, that had changed from the first time.
[current body condition: under a powerful drug]
‘Oh! so that’s how it is, I was asking myself how he won against Caleb in such a short time.
So it was because of drugs’
“Watch this carefully guys” Said Hans to the students, whose mind was lost in else, afraid of forgetting to breathe from the fear.
“I’ll show you why it is not good to make use of drugs.”
He slightly raised his arm, and cast:
(Tier-5){ice sphere}
In just about a second, the whole ground had been covered in a thin layer of frost, making the temperature in the area plummet.
A kind of veil was laid on top of their heads, closing that part of the forest in a half sphere, with a diameter of about five hundred meters.
‘This is a skill I have developed based off {burning field}(tier-5) the evolved version of the tier two spell I once had {fire arena}.
While in here, not only my ice spells are boosted, but everyone’s movements are also slowed down as long as they don’t have affinity with ice element mana, a pretty big drawback when fighting in group, that can turn into a huge advantage when fighting alone.
Hans cast another spell.
{glacial sword}(tier-4)
A giant sword, measuring almost up to twenty meters (65 feet), appeared, and remained floating right above Hans’ head.
In a crazed state, maybe because he couldn’t control his body, or maybe because his instincts had told him to do so, the man sprinted towards Hans, throwing a punch, that fractured the ground where the mage was standing just a few milliseconds before.
‘Where? Where has he gone?
I can’t see him! Where is he! Where the hell is this guy?!’
A voice helped the man clear his thoughts.
Following the sound, he discovered something unexpected.
Hans was fluctuating, not on top of a shard of ice or an earth boulder, he was simply flying.
Standing still in the air, as if the ground had moved beneath his feet.
“I will give you two choices.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
First, you kill yourself now, to apologize for what you and your association have done to the academy.
And if I take pity I might bury your body because of your honourable act.
Second.. you decide to continue like this… I break your body apart down to the molecular level before finding the headquarters of the Red Tyranny and….
Wiping it out!”
Swoosh!
Hans’s mana was released into the air, still controlled to avoid killing the students.
One by one, the Cadets’ bodies started to fall, and last remaining awake, one of them managed to catch a glimpse at Hans’ body high up in the air.
Even the man, whose stats were the same as any other S-rank, could not completely withstand the twenty two hundred wisdom stat possessed by Hans, also coupled with his equipment skill {fearsome}.
The crazed man barely managed to stand, but the words spoken by Hans didn’t pass through, as if he was talking to a beast.
He aggressively jumped, attacking Hans even while he was in the air, but he was soon sent back to the ground by Hans’ already cast spell.
The ice sword hit the man from above, that was covering his body with both his arms crossed, forming an x.
But that still was far from causing him to give up, his instinct told him that such an attack couldn’t possibly be a normal one for a mage, and he just had to try once again before managing to snatch the opponent head off.
However… his instincts were wrong.
As soon as he emerged from the first attack, a more powerful and bigger one came down.
{freezing fan} as wind created by a fan, a wave of cold and ice was formed.
It erected above the tall trees of the forest, and completely stopped the man’s movements.
While the first one was relatively easy for him to defend against, this second spell required much more effort, breaking apart only after having forced it for almost eight seconds.
While the ice cracked, Hans lost sight of him for a moment, and tried to trace him down with his mana.
‘Where has he gone? Where is he..
f*cl!’
When he managed to sense it, it was already too late, the crazed awakened was now behind Hans.
Bringing his arms up and bracing for impact, Hans hoped for the best.
“Bam.. bam, bam, bam”
Hans fall not only created a small crater in the ground, but also continued pushing Hans away, making him roll and bounce on the ground, sweeping away the trees he passed by.
If he didn’t have as much physical resistance as he did, then he would’ve undoubtedly died, making this more obvious was also the crack that appeared on the extremely tough dragon scales’ chest plate.
‘I guess he’s still an S-rank huh? that speed stat is insane’
Thought Hans, reminding himself of being carful.
The opponent was now around him, he was quickly dashing in between the trees of the thick forest, making it impossible for Hans to localize him.
The killing impulse he had troubles dealing with seemed to had calmed down, as he wasn’t rushing forward mindlessly anymore.
Whether it was because he ragained consciousness, or because his instincts had told him to approach more carefully, Hans’ situation now wasn’t as good as before.
Fast attacks started arriving from all directions, and with Hans’ speed stat being more than a hundred points lower than the opponent’s, even dreaming of evading those hits was nothing but a wishful thought.
He had to keep his arms up, guarding his face and avoiding getting hit on the neck.
If it wasn’t for his newly acquired skill: {frost armor}(tier-5), that he obtained by rigorously improving the condensation and purity of mana inside his old tier 3 skill {ice armor}, then he probably wouldn’t have been able to take on even three moves from the man.
But as time passed, the blows on his arms felt heavier and heavier, and he found himself in the same position as Caleb.
He couldn’t react like Caleb did, since he didn’t have such strength, and he had to do something quickly, otherwise his endurance would’ve failed him.
What could he do now? All three the tier-5 ice spells that he had developed during the course of the last months had already been shown, and they wouldn’t have been as effective as the first time if he decided to use them again.
For a normal mage, no solution would’ve been available, but such simple things… could easily be resolved by Hans.
If one element wasn’t enough, then he just had to use the others.
(Tier-5){burning field}
The ice quickly started melting, leaving behind the wet grass of the forest, but that too, soon became dry.
The incredible heat created in the place limited the man’s breathing, making the fatigue of continuing at such a great speed unbearable by his body.
His stamina begun to run out, as his panting became louder.
However, that wasn’t the end of it. A finishing touch was added by Hans, that displayed one last incredible spell, belonging to the wind path.
(Tier-5){typhoon’s eye}
The winds rose, bringing with them and amplifying the flames, that burned down great part of the forest.
While taking all those hits before, Hans had managed to move away from the students, enough to use his full powers.
This time, the domain of fire and wind spanned about a hundred and fifty metres.
Just the heat inside of it was enough for the opponent’s skin to peel slightly, and for his breathing to become even more unstable.
“I gave you a chance, it is you who didn’t cherish it.
Do not blame me for eternity while you’re down in hell with your gentle master.
If he even exists.”
A final spell, required to completely end the fight.
(Tier-5){dragon’s breath}
An incredible wave of fire and heat was launched forward, overwhelming the man, that in the final moments of his life, managed to regain control over his mind.
As soon as he woke up in his body, the only thing he saw was a blinding light, and the only thing that he felt was the heat on his raw flesh.
The skin was burnt, the muscular tissue was torn apart, and the bones were melted.
When the fire wave passed, not him nor his ashes remained on the now barren, flattened ground.
