Only Wisdom Awakened - Chapter 92
Chapter 92: Angel
“Knock knock” the sound came from outside Aiden’s room.
“Coming!” Replied a young man.
His voice was not Aiden’s one, and Hans could tell since he had lived with him for quite a while.
“Huh? Teacher! What are you doing here?”asked the student frightened.
‘Could he have discovered about the drinks?’
The kid frowned a bit, scared for his own safety.
“Is Aiden here?”
Asked Hans simply ignoring the reaction of the student to his visit.
“Br-brother Aiden is sleeping right now, but I’ll go wake him up if you just wait here for a bit.”
The guy was already off to the inner part of the room, when Hans stopped him, saying:
“No, it’s okay.
Here take this, one’s for you and one’s for him, just tell him that his big brother passed by, he’ll understand.
“O-okay, thank you so much”
As the door closed, the guy thought:
‘Phew, we’ve just been denied the entry to all the academy buildings, if I were to get caught with a bottle of alcohol in my room I’d probably be directly expelled, in that case, dad would definitely beat the will to live out of me.
Now, let’s see what this kind teacher of ours has prepared for us…’
He unwrapped one of the two boxes, and started salivating at just the sight of the fluffy pancakes.
The heavenly smell of the freshly baked food was released, and it covered the whole room, inhibiting the guy’s senses, and waking up Aiden.
“Mhhhhh” he groaned, with his eyes still closed.
When he finally gathered enough energy to lift his abdomen up from the mattress, he saw his roommate eating something in kitchen.
‘This smell? I have already felt it! But where?’
Thought the still half asleep boy while getting down from the ladder of the two story bed.
“Grant? What are you eating without me?”
As soon as he finished wiping his eyes from the residual of the night, he could finally see what his roommate was enjoying alone.
“Those! Are those brother Hans’ pancakes?!
Where did you get them?”
Grant stopped eating for a second before answering:
“Oh these? a teacher passed by before, and he told me to leave one of these boxes for you, also, he said something about a big brother”
‘This.. brother Hans, thank you’
He enjoyed the breakfast with Grant, and only that was already enough to bring a little bit of joy in their boring day.

The month of punishment for the students passed by fast, and Hans took these days of rest as an opportunity to improve his spells even further and increase his wisdom via meditation.
His wisdom had reached about 2300, and he had finally developed his first tier-6 spell.
It was the fire spell: {magma field}

His mind is unwavering, and his body is equal to those of hardly trained knights.
Evaluation: mid S-rank, about the same level as a newly promoted tier-7 mage.
Emotional state: proud, pleased]
Now, beside the nature’s path, that he had just started training in, and some paths he hadn’t used much, he had almost every element at the fourth rank, and also, he had successfully created his first fifth rank gravity spell, bringing that path also up to the fifth level.
His power had grown a lot, so much that he almost thought of leaving the academy right at that moment.
The problem was his level, he had been stagnant in the hundred forties for almost four months, since the only gates he cleared in the meantime were those that occasionally spawned around the association.
A big fuss also arose because of the attack at the academy, many students were sent home, since their parents had lost their trust in the academy after witnessing their childs mental traumas.
To keep the country calm and avoid panic amongst the citizens, the fact that the attackers were part of the Red Tyranny was kept a secret.
But that also backfired on the academy, since the fact that some unknown association managed to break into their barriers and defences in just one night was always on the lips of everyone.
“How is it going?”
Asked the woman.
Replying to her, was Jackson, the current leading teacher after the death of Scarlet Evans.
“We are having some issues proceeding with what you’ve ordered”
“Why?”
“The parents of the students are all skeptic about our abilities, especially since one of our most powerful teachers and awakened died.
Also, the students all saw how Caleb lost, and young people surely aren’t known for being tight lipped.”
“So? what are they saying about us?”
“They say that the academy has completely lost, and that the only reason we managed to avoid our crumbling is because they were scared of you returning in time”
“Meaning?”
“Most of the parents have met to come up with a final decision, and they have made a public request:
First of all, they want a seventh tier defensive barrier to be placed around the academy, like for the ones in the other countries.”
“A seventh tier barrier? Only two people can deploy those, and one of the two wouldn’t accept even if begged, meaning that the only one left is him.
This… is going to cost a fucking fortune.
Still, that is a reasonable price to pay for our mistakes, what about the second request?”
“Since the teachers in the academy are deemed as weak, they have made quite the bold request.
They want you to retire from your position as LA branch leader, and dedicate all your time to being the dean of the academy.”
“These fuckers.. are quite bold indeed.”
“Leave, I am not in a mood to see people”
Ordered the dean to the man, that soon left the office.
‘The only reason I founded this academy was to improve my public image, and hence fortify my position as a branch leader, meaning that I definitely won’t quit.
But if I were to let the academy close just to keep my position, since the request they have made is public, I will be viewed as a selfish person that thinks more about her position than the future of the country, and all the money I have invested to build this place will go to waste.
Do I really need to give it all up?
If I do that I’ll at least be able to to keep my position and honor as the dean.
No! I can’t do that, this situation feels staged, why would they ask something like that? Someone has to be behind all this, and that someone is currently coveting my seat as branch leader.
Who could it ever be?’
The woman also realized something else at that moment.
‘The barrier deployed here was a sixth rank, and it was completely focused on defence, meaning that even for an S-rank, it wouldn’t have been so easy to enter, yet no one heard him before he arrived, no one managed to contact us after almost half an hour after the start of the battle, and no one managed to notify Caleb of the invasion.
Even if the teachers are new to working with each other, this level of communication is simply too unbelievable.
Someone, is betraying us.
‘Is it him?’
Thought the woman while the image of Hans’ face passed through her mind.
‘I feel like he isn’t, he does not have enough authority to open the formation, and him being so young attracts too much attention for a spy.
It’s still better to check though’
She picked up her phone, and made a call instead of writing a mail this time.
“Yes, who is it?”
“I’m the Los Angeles association branch leader, I have called to inquire about the subject I asked surveillance for”
“The subject.. you mean Hans?”
“Y-yes, security director why are you calling him simply by name?”
“You… you! How dare you ask us to guard an angel?!”
“An… angel?”
“That’s right, he hasn’t come out of his dorm for the last thirty days, if it isn’t to cook breakfast to his students, he also bought them food because they ran out of money.
You should be ashamed for providing so little credits to your students, how dare you doubt a pure soul like him?!”
“So.. he isn’t a traitor?”
“Of course he isn’t! Have you ever seen a traitor cooking pancakes?! Huh?! Answer meee! you disgraceful branch leader!”
