Chapter 1063: Surely, life was full of surprises.
Unlike the articles about the new Chief Operating Officer of the Pierson Corporation, the articles about Miller’s Company provided more details. For instance, Miller’s Company had just broken its own record in stock trades.
Because of this spike, many more articles were being released, covering the same story over and over again. Even Charles’s biography was summarized so that everyone could get to know him, and with Atlas’s articles dominating the news, soon articles about father and son were released as well.
The story was so huge that it made it to the national business news, with some advisors and financial content creators posting their versions of the sudden shift in the business industry. Even those who weren’t familiar with the usual market and economic flow were intrigued.

[Miller’s Company]
“This is… insane…” Theo stood on the side of the office, eyes glued to the television as the most well-known news anchor in the business section interviewed experts to give clarity on the situation for public understanding.
“…That’s me… on TV,” he breathed out, barely blinking as he watched the news. He wasn’t even listening to the conversation, more focused on the pictures from earlier on the screen. “Wow.”
Mister Miller wasn’t faring much better than his son. He was seated on the long sofa, monitoring the stock prices as if savoring the moment.
“Our stocks… they’ve never reached this high before,” he muttered under his breath. “I thought I’d never see this happen in my lifetime.”
Just like his son, Mister Miller didn’t want to blink. He refrained, until his eyes began to water.
“This is real, right?” he asked himself, blinking rapidly before looking back at the screen. He let out a heavy sigh of relief when he saw that their stock prices were still high. “Ah, goodness.”
Meanwhile, as the father and son tried to process what was happening, Charles watched them in disbelief. He shook his head, clicking his tongue faintly, darting his eyes between the father and son duo.
‘I’m not sure if I feel good about myself or if I feel bad,’ Charles thought, as this was the first time he was seeing the Millers react to things behind the scenes. ‘I was so angry at them in the past that I kept messing with them. To be fair, they’re also one of the reasons I wanted to do more for the company—I wanted to slap this guy with the reality that his family could only look up to our Bennet Family.’
There had been so many issues between the Bennet and Miller families in the past. After all, the Miller Family had been undeniably more powerful than the Bennets—they were the leading company back then.
That was why the late Chairman Miller had the gall to spit on Haines, and why the Miller children had bullied the Bennet children. It made Charles so angry that he had pushed that particular project in the past, knowing it would help them surpass the Millers and stop Global Prime from stagnating.
‘Our Bennet Family only started to pick up and continue to break through when… Penny fixed that issue we had back then,’ Charles reminisced, smiling to himself. ‘Penny actually saved us a lot of time, and that single project turned Global Prime Logistics’ fate around.’
Surely, life was full of surprises.
Who would have thought that the day would come when Charles and Mister Miller would hold hands and work together?
Charles cleared his throat to get the father and son’s attention. “Shall we discuss some other minor things before we call it a night?”
“Uh… yes, of course, sir!” Theo snapped out of it, rushing to sit in the seat across from his father. “I’m sorry, sir. I’m just astounded to see the news. I didn’t expect it to be this big.”
“Ha… ha… me too,” Mister Miller laughed awkwardly. “Not long ago, we were reconsidering declaring bankruptcy. And then, when your daughter Penelope came to us, we thought we were just selling all our rights and years of hard work. We didn’t expect to be celebrating with you.”
Though right now, if anyone was celebrating, it was just the Millers.
“Penny already transacted with you, and I’m merely here to fill in the spot until she has more time. Even so, I take this very seriously. After all, our new clients and investors only showed interest because it is me they are seeing. All of them trust me, and I do not want to let them down.” Charles didn’t beat around the bush, keeping his tone controlled but assertive. “My daughter is kind enough to give you both a chance to keep your positions and retain a small percentage of the company.”
Charles paused, his expression stern. “With that, I expect you to do your best and listen to orders. At the end of the day, even though we’re temporarily keeping the company name as it is, the owner of this building and everything in it is no longer you.”
“If this company falls again, I don’t think there’ll ever be another chance like this,” he added. “We are now one, and whatever history we had, I hope it doesn’t become a problem blocking our paths in the future.”
“Don’t worry, Charles! I mean, chairman!” Mister Miller cleared his throat, nodding at him reassuringly. “I’m not… going to screw this up.”
“It’s the same for me!” Theo, unlike his father, lowered his head, his hands stiffly placed on his lap. “I am ready to learn under your guidance, no matter how hard and demanding it might be! I will do my best to not let you and Miss Penelope down!”
Charles nodded in satisfaction. ‘The good thing about knowing the Millers is that I know when they’re being sincere and when they’re being cunning. Penny is surely a scary businesswoman for making these guys worship her.’
Mentally, Charles was fawning over his daughter. She was truly amazing and the best! But on the outside, he maintained an unchanging front.
“Haines will be here tomorrow,” Charles announced, watching the father and son slowly look up at him with surprised expressions. “He’ll be here to assist me, but mostly to brief everyone.”

He paused again, his eyes gleaming. “It took me a lot of time to convince him to help. So, Theo Miller, if you truly want to be the best, you better learn from the best. Haines is a lot better than I am at these things.”
“Ye—yes, sir!” Theo blushed, his mouth stretching into a grin.
And that was how these men “celebrated” their win for the day—because tomorrow, the Miller Company would never be the same.
