Chapter 1091: Even if I do, you’re not my type
Penny cupped her cheek grumpily, still upset that her brothers were here with them. They had already taken off, so there was no way they could leave now. Not that she didn’t know that even before takeoff, it would take her a lifetime of energy to kick her brothers out.
‘Second Brother probably will listen and sulk, but he’ll leave,’ she thought, sinking into her seat as she thought of Atlas. ‘But not First Brother. I wouldn’t be surprised if he glued himself to his seat just to avoid getting kicked out.’
Another deep sigh escaped Penny, thinking that this vacation might not turn out as she expected. They hadn’t even started, but things were already going downhill with Atlas, Hugo, and even Allen in here. Allen appeared later, already enjoying the complimentary drinks at the bar when she and Zoren arrived.
“Penny,” Zoren called, watching his wife look back at him. “Are you still upset?”
Penny glanced at the juice he placed on the table between them. “Did you get that for me?”
“I requested your favorite snacks to ease the discomfort of flying. After all, we’re stuck here for the next sixteen hours.”
“Renren…” Her eyes softened, biting her bottom lip. “It’s really a good thing you’re my husband.”
Zoren chuckled, jerking his chin toward the juice. “Drink it. It might make you feel better, hopefully.”
“I already feel better, knowing I have such an incredible husband,” she said, picking up the glass and savoring its fresh taste. Finally, a smile appeared on her face after taking a sip. “Thank you.”
“I’m glad it made you feel better.”
“You make me feel better.”
He laughed, leaning comfortably in his seat. He glanced out the window on her side, smiling at the clouds surrounding the plane.
“It’s been a while since I flew out of the country,” he said, sliding his eyes toward his wife. “The last time, I didn’t even know I got married.”
Penny laughed, scratching the back of her head. “That’s the best souvenir you’ve had.”
“It is, indeed.” He nodded. “The only one I’d probably keep.”
“Nope!”
“Hmm?”
Penny slowly pulled the table between them closer and squeezed herself into his side. “Let’s keep more souvenirs from the places we’ve been,” she suggested, beaming. “This is our first trip together, but it’s definitely not the last.”
“…” Zoren studied the look on his wife’s beautiful face, his heart softening as it filled with warmth. He nodded mildly, slipping his hand between her fingers. “Sure, let’s do that.”
Penny giggled, feeling a bit more optimistic now that her husband was here with her. Her brothers might be annoying with their clear boundary issues, but she knew it would eventually work out. After all, Zoren was here with her.
Anywhere in the world would be fine as long as he was here… and it was the same for Zoren.
As long as he was with his wife, he knew everything would be alright. She was the only person he needed and wanted to live for. So, anywhere was fine… as long as she was right by his side.
Penny rested her head on his shoulder, her fingers playing with his fingertips. Her eyes fell on their hands, chuckling.
“Hmm?” he hummed upon hearing her faint chuckle. “What is it?”
“Nothing,” she said, looking up at him. “I just noticed that you really have long fingers with pretty nails. Just look at ours. Mine looks like a miniature compared to yours.”
Zoren smiled as he gazed at their hands. “They’re perfect,” he said, clasping her hand and holding it gently. Her fingers were almost hidden with just his grip, and he added, “It fits perfectly.”
“It makes it easy for me to hold it and not let go,” he continued, giving her a knowing look. “Don’t you think?”
“Hehe…” Another short giggle escaped her, resting her head on his shoulder again. “Ahh… this is nice. We haven’t arrived yet, but I can already see the days we both crash on the bed are going to be worth it.”
Zoren nodded. “It’s going to be for sure. After all, we… work hard for this.”
Penny peeked up at him and grinned. They deserved this for sure. After everything, a short break was all they needed so they could keep going. Now, this was a celebration of their first win against Jonathan’s scheme.

They might not have fully won since Jonathan was still known as Enzo’s bastard and was still a free man. Even so, this was a big step — especially for Penny. In her first life, she didn’t even win a round because she fell before she could do anything else.
It was still a long way to go, but they had already come so far.

Meanwhile…
Hugo shivered, yet his expression remained deadpan. He was looking at where Zoren and Penny were seated, catching the pink air mixed with flowers and butterflies around it.
“I’d rather have her upset than hear this conversation,” he breathed out in dread, thinking that Penny and Zoren might’ve forgotten that they had partitions, but nothing in here was soundproof! They could hear their cheesy and corny conversation loud and clear!
Hugo facepalmed, sulking in his spot. “I never thought I’d ever need this, but I need earplugs. This is more deafening than missiles and bombs.”
At the same time, Allen kept his head down. His ears were red, flustered by the conversation he was listening to. He knew about Penny and Zoren’s relationship, but it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he couldn’t imagine it.
In his mind, Penny was this she-alpha, who could intimidate someone with her presence alone. She was smart, cunning, and even scary at times. Zoren, on the other hand, was ruthless — as rumors said — and simply dreadful. Allen had been working at Pierson Corporation, and with Atlas’s position, they worked closely with Zoren. Based on Allen’s observations, Zoren was scary, and rumors about him weren’t just hearsay.
Allen was still unsure who was scarier between Atlas and Zoren.
In other words, he was expecting a slightly different dynamic between Penny and Zoren. He didn’t expect them to be so lovey-dovey!
‘Goodness… had I known I was going to be fed dog food here, I wouldn’t have come,’ Allen sighed. ‘I wonder what Sir Atlas’s reaction to this interaction is?’
Curious, Allen peeked up to check if Atlas was also flustered. But the second he did, Atlas lifted his sharp eyes at him and said,
“I don’t hold hands with men. Even if I do, you’re not my type.”
