Chapter 1099: I’m sure he’s going to live.
“I still can’t believe this is happening,” Penny grumbled, taking a mouthful of water, as it was the only thing she could drink. “I never thought I’d ever want to drink something stronger than water.”
She rolled her eyes, glancing at the people in the limousine with them. “First Brother, you said you’re here for business purposes. Why are you in here, then?”
“Penny, since First Brother is very concerned about the Pierson Corporation, he wants to save not just on plane tickets, but also accommodation and transfers,” Hugo happily filled her in, making Allen sigh in relief, as Hugo had saved him from explaining. “Isn’t he considerate??”
“…” Penny remained quiet, contemplating whether to summon the seven circles of hell or choose peace.
“It’s okay,” Zoren reassured her. “Our accommodation is huge. There’s plenty of room.”
“Renren, that’s not…” Penny wobbled and melted against her husband’s side. “Never mind that. I’m tired from the travel and all the stress. I just want to rest and eat something nice.”
Zoren nodded, holding his wife reassuringly. When he looked away, his gaze inevitably caught Hugo’s. His smile faded slightly, but he still nodded at his second brother-in-law.
During their quiet exchange earlier in the plane, they chose to leave the discussion at that. Whatever Hugo had to say was already obvious, so Hugo offered a hand if Zoren wanted or needed someone to talk to.
“By the way, sir, why do I feel like we’re taking a lot of time to reach our destination?” Allen asked, looking out the window and then back at the others. “I think we just passed the main town or something.”
Benjamin smirked proudly. “That’s because we’re staying on one of the islands here! After this, we’re still going to take a boat, and then another few minutes in a car until we reach the Pierson Rest House Mansion!”
Benjamin’s announcement earned different reactions from everyone.
Hugo: “What do you mean we’re still taking a boat and another car after that? Just when will this all end?”
Allen: “That… that’s a long ride.”
Penny: “What do you mean, we?”
“Penny, why are you asking such a weird question?” Slater pouted. “Of course, it’s ‘we.’ We’re staying in the same place. Second Brother just told you that.”
“No way!” Penny gasped, her memory now a bit jumbled with her emotions. “You guys told me you’re not staying with us!”
“And that’s true,” Hugo answered knowingly. “Why would we stay with you when we’ve got our own rooms?”
“!!!” Her eyes widened as she gazed up at Zoren, only to see him shrug and sigh helplessly. “Oh, Renren. Please save me.”
Penny once again wobbled against her husband’s side, feeling her energy deplete every time there was a discussion with the group. But then again, it was Old Mrs. Pierson’s decision. Still, Penny couldn’t help but think that Old Mrs. Pierson should’ve chosen a different place for her brothers to stay.
This was a honeymoon for her and Zoren.
Of course, in a way, she wanted to enjoy it just for the two of them. Spending one lunch or one dinner with her brothers shouldn’t be a problem. However, knowing they would stay in the same place, she could already imagine they would just try to annoy the heck out of her.
“Oh!” Penny suddenly snapped out of her thoughts, looking up at Zoren. “Renren, where’s Mark? Now that I think about it, shouldn’t he be with us?”
“Wow…” Hugo was in awe. “After that sixteen-hour flight and an hour since landing, she’s only asking about Mark now. She can be very heartless, huh?”
His comment, however, was ignored. Penny was done getting stressed for the day, and the least she wanted right now was to deal with such an unflattering comment.
“Since we planned to take Renny and Chunchun with us, Mark had to stay on the same plane as them,” Zoren explained calmly. “From what I know, they’ve already arrived earlier than us, so they should be at the rest house now.”
“Oh…” Penny’s mouth formed an “O” shape, nodding in understanding. “Well, if they’re already there, I guess that’s better!”
Her cheek turned pinkish as her eyes twinkled. She thought she would feel better if she could just hug Renny and Chunchun. Her pets had always been one of her sources of energy and motivation. Just hugging them would magically turn a bad day into a good one. Hence, she couldn’t help but feel excited.
This was the first vacation for this family: Renren, Penny, Renny, and Chunchun.
The four of them would have fun!
Little did Penny know, Zoren’s smile quickly disappeared. He studied the smile on her face and the blush on her cheeks.

“Mark,” he whispered, as the imaginary rival list in his mind suddenly added another name: Mark.
“Hmm?” Penny hummed, looking up at him. “Renren, did you say something?”
The smile on his face returned as he said, “Nothing.”
“Hehe~”
Meanwhile, everyone in the limousine was looking at the blind Penny in disbelief. They shook their heads, thinking that Penny had this selective vision. If not, she would’ve caught the brief yet deadly look on Zoren’s face just now.
“First Brother, did you see that?” Hugo leaned toward Atlas, eyes on Penny, his hand covering his mouth. “Can Zoren’s blindness be passed on to his significant other?”
Atlas didn’t budge as he continued reading a document that had been filling his time. “If that’s the case, she would’ve gladly obtained a dysfunctional kidney and lungs just so he gets better.”
“Sir Ben.” Allen, on the other hand, focused more on his thoughts. “Do you think Sir Mark will be alright?”
Benjamin shrugged while Slater shook his head.
“Nope,” Slater remarked. “I feel sorry for him already.”
“Me too,” Allen blurted out, only asking for confirmation. After seeing how Penny and Zoren interact, he was certain Zoren was the possessive—no, the territorial—type.
“It’s okay,” Benjamin reassured. “I’m sure he’s going to live.”

Meanwhile, in the Mansion situated at the top of the hill on one of the small islands…
“Achoo!” Mark sneezed hard, rubbing his nose as he suddenly felt a chill down his spine. He shook his head, rubbing his shoulder. “Why do I suddenly feel like someone’s cursing me to death—achoo!”
