Chapter 1335: Him marrying into the family
A stifling silence fell over the restaurant as no one spoke after Zoren’s remark. After all, everything he said was true. They had all dropped everything just to be here. Not that they resented Nina and Finn for it—this was more important than anything else.
It was a family matter, and family came first.
So, yes, they wouldn’t see eye to eye with Mr. and Mrs. Davis because if they could, how could the two of them couldn’t?
Finn gulped, scanning the faces around the table. It was clear that none of them were satisfied with his parents, and he understood why. But if both the Bennet and Cortez families were repelled by them, wouldn’t that put him and Nina in a difficult position?
Worse, would they refuse to allow this marriage?
Finn knew their opinion mattered greatly to Nina. Therefore…
He turned to her, only to find her also studying everyone.
‘I…’ His thoughts trailed off as his fists trembled. “I’m sor—”
“Finn.”
Charles spoke again, cutting him off. Finn stopped, watching as Charles kept his attention fixed on his future in-laws.
“Answer me honestly and without hesitation,” Charles said, his tone grim and firm. “Do you love my daughter?”
Finn’s brows rose in surprise. His voice came out with a slight tremor. “Y-Yes!”
“What?!”
“Yes, sir!”
“Then, you’d better make sure you follow through with everything you’ve promised.” Slowly, Charles shifted his gaze to Finn. “Do not hurt her. Make her happy. And, most importantly, protect her—even from your own family. Nina might give you a hundred chances, but I give you just one. Only one. Don’t screw it up. Make things right, this time, do not fail.”
“Mr. Bennet, that is our son you’re threatening,” Mrs. Davis snapped, recovering from her shock. “Don’t you dare—”
“He is not only your son now,” Charles interrupted, casting the couple a cold glare. “From today onward, he is also my son. And I will be his father when he needs one… and even when he doesn’t. So the two of you — leave. My children, my family, do not welcome those who hurt one of us.”
Silence.
The couple was speechless. So was Finn, who stared at Charles blankly.
Confusion flickered across Finn’s face. Had he just heard Charles Bennet call him son? Shouldn’t this be the moment Charles voiced his objection to the marriage?
“Leave,” Allison reinforced in her usual composed tone. “For once, do something for your son and just leave. For once, be a parent and stop hurting them any further for your pride.”
“Nina may take the Davis name in the future, but in reality, it’s Finn who is marrying into our family,” Atlas finally spoke after his long silence. His tone carried its usual monotone, but there was an unmistakable coldness beneath it. “And this family will never let anyone hurt him… even if it’s the two of you.”
“Argue with my dad if you want, but not my First Brother. He bites — just look at his eyes. You can see there’s something weird about them,” Hugo chimed in, leaning back with a smirk. “Go back to work. You’ve got everyone’s blessing here.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Davis, don’t feel bad,” Penny said, tilting her head with a smile. “We’re not angry. And for Nina and Finn’s sake, our family is willing to overlook this. You don’t have to apologize.”
“Unless you try to hurt them again,” Yugi added, his sharp gaze cutting through the air. “Then, no apology will quench our anger.”
“That boy is one of us now,” Jessa said proudly, glancing at Nina and Finn. “Of course, we say all of this, but ultimately, it’s up to Finn if he’s willing to marry into this family. As you can see, we aren’t exactly normal.”
“It’s chaotic, and we fight—a lot,” Yuri whispered, offering Finn a soft smile. “But at the end of the day, despite our flaws, there’s one thing we’re sure of: this family sticks together. In good times, in bad—especially in the worst.”
“As long as you love Nina with all your heart, without reservation, then we will love you fully,” Lester added, unwilling to be the only one who hadn’t spoken his piece. He smiled at Finn. “So? Do you want to join this crazy family?”
“It’s not that bad,” Zoren mused, nodding encouragingly.
“Of course, it isn’t. You have me~” Penny whispered sweetly—only for Zoren to pinch her cheek.

Finn, meanwhile, stared at them all. For a moment, he could do nothing but process everything. He had expected the worst when Charles had stood up from his seat. But instead of hostility, the initial tension had melted into subtle smiles and quiet encouragement.
Family.
What an unfamiliar concept.
And yet, it touched his heart like nothing else. All he had wanted was to marry Nina, the love of his life. Nothing more. He wasn’t and wouldn’t expect more than that. But they were offering him a family—on top of their blessing.
“Finn.”
Nina tugged his hand, smiling at him. She had stayed silent earlier for one reason: someone had to tell his parents just how much they had hurt him. She had realized the depth of their neglect when Finn had fallen into a coma after that horrific accident, and they just left. Their reason? It was because Finn was in a coma, and they weren’t doctors who could help him.
Slowly, Finn turned to her. A thin layer of tears coated his eyes. He pressed his lips together, knowing that if he spoke now, it might break the dam entirely. And he wasn’t about to embarrass himself like that.
“Hah…” Mrs. Davis scoffed in disbelief before snapping her gaze to her son. “Finn, don’t listen to them. You don’t believe the nonsense they’re saying, do you?”
“They’re obviously trying to turn you against us,” Mr. Davis added through gritted teeth. “Finn, let’s go. These people can’t even come up with a convincing lie. There is no way you’d allow them into your life after they’ve humiliated your parents like this!”
“No.” Finn breathed the word out, clearing his throat as he met his parents’ eyes.
“Mom, Dad… thank you for coming. I know you tried.” He exhaled slowly. “But it’s true—this dinner is over for you.”
