Chapter 466: You’re awake now, so stop dreaming
The day passed in the blink of an eye. Fortunately, Penny didn’t have to deal with any dramatic or major events for the rest of the day — it was peaceful, just as it should be.
While stretching her arms wide, she heard her phone ring.
DING!
“Hmm?” Her brows rose as she reached for her phone to check the notification. “It’s First Brother.”
Penny checked the message Atlas had sent. It was just the address of a restaurant and the time of his reservation. Deep lines formed between her brows as she reread the message.
“Is that his way of asking me to dinner?” she wondered aloud, recalling how Atlas had inquired about her schedule earlier.
Leaning back in her swivel chair, she shrugged. “I guess he wants to talk business.”
With that thought, Penny quickly responded.
[To: First Brother]
Got it.
She was about to set her phone down when Atlas replied almost immediately. Given that this was Atlas, the quick response was odd.
[From: First Brother]
See you.
“What’s with him?” she mumbled to herself, staring at the brief reply. “Since when does he respond like this?”
In retrospect, Atlas wasn’t one for unnecessary exchanges. The most trivial message he’d ever sent her was when he checked in on her while she was abroad. She’d reply, “Everything’s good,” and he’d answer with a simple, “K.”
Penny had grown so used to this that the two-word reply now felt suspicious.
“Is he planning something?” she wondered, squinting. “Does he need something from me?”
She thought about it for a moment, then shook her head. “No, if Atlas needed something, he would’ve just said it.”
So why the sudden dinner invitation?
“This is giving me a headache. I still have an hour of work left, but this is distracting.”
A part of her instinctively told her to prepare for the unexpected. She had always been cautious since childhood. But another part reassured her—Atlas wouldn’t do anything to harm her.
“Haist!” Penny clicked her tongue after spending ten minutes speculating. “Never mind. I’ll find out once I meet him.”
In the end, she decided it was likely a business discussion. After all, she and Atlas had been talking about a potential merger or joint venture. Maybe he was treating her as a businesswoman now, not just his little sister.
Little did she know, the real reason behind the dinner was far from what she expected.
After work, Penny headed straight to the address Atlas had sent. Luckily, a service car was available at the building, and she drove herself to the meeting place. It took her about an hour to reach the restaurant.
Slowing down, Penny gazed at the building. “I didn’t know there was such a fancy restaurant here.”
The restaurant was located in a nearby town outside the city. It wasn’t a typical dining spot; it occupied the top floor of a three-story building, with a sophisticated and exclusive feel reminiscent of city establishments.
When Penny entered, she almost felt like she was walking into a hotel, with a reception desk greeting her at the front.
“Penelope Bennet,” she told the receptionist. “I’m with Atlas Bennet.”
The receptionist smiled and nodded. “This way, Miss Bennet.”

Penny furrowed her brows. The receptionist hadn’t even checked the guest list, but she shrugged it off and followed her. On the way to the lift, Penny noticed there was already a restaurant on the ground floor, with a few diners seated there.
“Isn’t he down here?” she wondered, watching the receptionist stop at the elevator. “We’re taking the lift?”
The receptionist nodded with a smile. “Yes.”
“Ah, okay?”
Despite her confusion, Penny followed. Atlas wouldn’t send her into a dangerous situation, right? While she pondered what to expect, the elevator chimed.
DING!
The receptionist stepped out and stood to the side, smiling at Penny. “Please head that way. Mr. Bennet is already waiting for you.”
“Uh… you’re not coming with me?” Penny asked.
The receptionist politely shook her head. “No.”
“Okay, then.”
Penny raised her brows briefly and walked in the direction indicated. She didn’t have any particular expectations. She simply found it odd that Atlas had chosen such an elaborate setting.
Once she reached the door to the rooftop, Penny stepped inside, ready to search for Atlas. To her surprise, she didn’t need to look far.
There was only one person on the rooftop, and it was Atlas.
Her eyes scanned the scene—a rooftop illuminated by the warm glow of fairy lights, real flowers along the sides, petals on the floor, and a single table set in the center.
“Uh…” she murmured, her gaze locking on Atlas again. “Did I walk into the wrong place?”
“No, you didn’t,” Atlas replied, standing by the table. He picked up a bouquet from the table and walked over to her. Stopping in front of his sister, he handed her the bouquet. “For you. It’s a little late, but congratulations on the success of Prime Group’s launch.”
“Oh.” Penny cleared her throat, accepting the flowers with a confused expression. “Thanks?”
Atlas nodded and gestured toward the table. “Come on. I ordered us their best dish and… their best juice.”
“Oh,” she blurted again, hugging the bouquet as she followed him. As they walked, Penny quickened her pace to catch up. “First Brother, you know I’m your sister, right?”
“Huh?” He raised an eyebrow, glancing at her.
Penny smiled nervously. “You didn’t fall in love with your sister, did you? Because that would be wrong.”
“Penny, people’s ambitions should have limits. You’re awake now, so stop dreaming,” Atlas replied in his usual calm tone. “I’m just taking you on a date to show you how you should be treated by that guy.”
Penny froze, staring at his back in surprise. “Huh?”
She watched as he reached the table and pulled out a chair, then turned back to her.
“I’m not suggesting you pretend I’m your lover—that would be disgusting. But consider this a treat from your eldest brother,” he said, a rare, brief smile appearing on his face. “Shall we eat?”
The lines between her brows gradually softened, and a weak chuckle escaped her. Atlas had rarely gone on a date, and from what she heard, he blew all of them spectacularly. However, seeing him now and hearing everything he said brought warmth to her heart.
She smiled as walked to him, casting him a meaningful look. “Thank you,” she intoned before she sat down in the chair and watched him take the spot across from her.
