Chapter 623: Very attractive, very off-limits, very mine
“I’ll decapitate him myself.”
Aiden’s eyes went wide, and so did those of everyone who heard Zoren’s quiet yet hair-raising voice. The beautiful cadence of his words paled in comparison to the stifling aura he was emitting.
Did he really say… he would decapitate him?
Aiden wasn’t even tried — his charges weren’t even filed yet — but this man had already sentenced him to death!
“Hehehe…” The only person who wasn’t scared or shocked by Zoren’s remark was Penny. She cupped her flushed face, giggling and fawning over her husband.
When Hugo heard her giggle, he slowly turned to her. His eyes were a mix of anger and frustration; he wished he had moved faster than Zoren because all he wanted was to punish the person who had harmed his family. But after hearing her giggle, disbelief flickered in his eyes.
“Why the hell are you laughing?” he blurted out, only to see Penny leaning closer to him.
Still cupping her face, she jerked her chin toward Zoren. “Hugo, can’t you see? My husband is very attractive… very off-limits, and very mine.”
“…” Hugo opened and closed his mouth in disbelief before realizing that she had a head injury. “Come with me. Your head is bleeding.”
Just as Hugo grabbed her arm, Penny pulled away from him. “Wait,” she blurted out, only to see Hugo’s face darken.
“We can’t leave him here!” she pointed at Zoren. “Let’s wait for the guy’s death sentence first.”
“You’re impossible.” The moment those words left Hugo’s mouth, he pulled her with force. Taking her off guard, he swiftly carried her in his arms.
Thankfully, Hugo’s training wasn’t all for naught. He had been aware that, despite Penny’s physique, she was unbelievably heavy—all because she was pure muscle.
“Oh, wow,” Penny commented in surprise, looking at her second brother in horror. “I don’t want you to carry me! Hub—”
Penny’s call halted when Hugo started walking away. All she could do was gasp, looking over his shoulder to where Zoren was while Angel tried to calm him down. As the distance between them grew, her lips began to curve down.
“Renren…” she whispered, and this time, Zoren glanced in her direction.
He didn’t hear her call, but seeing her being carried away reminded Zoren of the most important thing — her. Thus, Zoren released Aiden, letting him drop to the ground with a loud thud. His dark eyes fell on the man.
“Angel, take this man to the station and tell Mark and everyone to see me in the hospital,” he ordered coldly before he spoke his first and last words to Aiden. “As for you… I’m not done with you.”
After saying his piece, Zoren turned and strode off, unconcerned about the eyes following him. However, instead of following Hugo and Penny, he went straight to the bar counter. Reaching out to the bartender, Zoren grabbed his collar and pulled him down.
He leaned over until his face was only a palm’s length away from the bartender. “Send my word to the owner of this club. He better hire the best lawyers in the world because I’m coming after him.”
Zoren then let go of the bartender and pushed himself away, his dark eyes blazing as he looked around at the crowd surrounding them. Although he couldn’t see well, he could tell there were many people here — people who could have defused the situation and stepped in to help.
But alas…
It seemed they were all too busy recording instead of helping a helpless woman fight against men twice her size. This filled his heart with bitterness and unquenchable anger.
“Keep the recordings to yourself. My legal team will reach out soon,” he announced, his eyes scanning everyone. “If any of the recordings are released… I’ll come after you too. Trust me. You do not want me going after you.”
With that, Zoren went on his way, having already given his word. Whether or not they believed it was up to them. However, he would stay true to his word. If they released those recordings, consequences would follow.
The flashlights that were on switched off one after another, indicating that those who had been filming stopped. Everyone could only watch Zoren walk away, observing as he fished his phone out to make a call.
“Crimson Bar,” was all Zoren said to the person on the other end of the line as he walked away. “Anteca doesn’t need a place like it.”
After saying that, Zoren ended the call and stepped out of the establishment. If only he could burn this entire place down, he would have done so; his anger still wouldn’t be quelled. However, Penny came first above everything else.
Meanwhile, Grace, Ginnie, Lily, and Nina stared at Zoren, stupefied.
“That… that’s her husband?” Lily blurted out in surprise, snapping out of her daze. “Let’s go with them!”

The ladies looked at each other. The night that started with nothing but fun had taken a shocking turn. So many things had happened since Aiden arrived that they were still processing everything.
“You three should follow them since you also need to be looked at,” Grace told them. “The driver I hired is already outside.”
Deep lines appeared between their brows before Nina asked, “What about you?”
“I’ll follow, but before that, I need to make sure this place and its management pay the consequences.” A glint flickered in Grace’s sharpened eyes. “I’m not letting them get away with this.”
Even though Zoren had said he would take legal action, as Penny’s lawyer and friend, Grace wouldn’t forgive them. She might not be strong enough to take down the men, but she could bury them in a hole called prison.
Not just Aiden and the goons who hurt Penny, but also the management, who didn’t step in from the beginning until things spiraled out of control.
With that, Nina, Ginnie, and Lily followed Penny outside the establishment. They didn’t have to use the services Grace had arranged earlier because when they stepped out, Zoren’s men were already waiting for them and drove them to the nearest hospital.
As for Grace, when everyone was leaving since the show was over and their mood had soured, she turned her head in a different direction. Her eyes landed on the empty stool where Nina had previously fallen asleep.
“Earlier…” she whispered, her eyes narrowing. “… I think I saw Finn Davis standing over there.”
