Chapter 632: Quell the worried hearts of the grandparents
According to Grace, she was certain she had caught sight of Finn last night at the nightclub. However, a lot of things were happening that night, and she couldn’t focus on everything else going on. Therefore, when Grace had the chance, she checked the CCTV footage.
Finn wasn’t captured on the CCTV footage entering or exiting the bar. Grace double-checked, and she was sure of that. Hence, it bothered her.
Grace wasn’t the type to confuse anyone, but at the same time, the situation last night was so chaotic that she could have mistaken it. That was what Grace had said before she left Penny to rest.
“I don’t think she’s just confused, though,” Penny mumbled, squinting as she spent her alone time mulling over Finn. “Grace might’ve shrugged it off as something to distract herself, but she’s not like that.”
In other words, Penny believed Grace didn’t see incorrectly.
Even so, it raised the question: why was Finn not caught on the footage when everyone else there last night was? There were surely multiple cameras in the establishment.
“Unless…” Penny trailed off, her eyes glinting. “…they were tampered with.”
But why?
Even if that were possible, why would Finn try to erase his presence in the nightclub? She assumed it was premeditated because Grace checked the CCTV right after the fight. There wouldn’t have been enough time for Finn to ask someone to delete or tamper with the footage.
“That guy…” she whispered, tilting her head. “Just like in this life, he just showed up out of nowhere.”
Penny crossed her arms, her mind spinning in circles with Finn at the center of it all. She didn’t have much time to think about the results of the hypnosis session yesterday, nor could she safely say she was in the right state of mind to consider it calmly.
But now that a day had passed and her shock had worn off, Penny spent some time reflecting on it.
“Did he… also… returned with his memories?”
The second her murmuring slipped past her lips, Penny pressed them tightly together as she held her breath. Her heart briefly thudded against her chest while her eyes widened.
Was there any other possibility?
“If so, then… is it possible he knew that I — as well?” Her breath hitched, and a sense of anxiety and dread crawled into her heart.
Just the possibility of Finn experiencing the same phenomenon she had would mean he might know Penny was the same. After all, in her first life, she had never come close to the Star Section, nor did she graduate as early as she did.
In her first life, Penny went to school just like everybody else and finished it at the same time as everyone else.
‘But wait, he’ll only know if he went to the same school, right?’ She wondered to herself, only to scrunch up her nose before holding her head. “There’s no way to check now if he went to the same school.”
Because this lifetime had already overwritten the previous one.
Therefore, Penny was unsure if Finn used to be just a regular student like her or if he went to another school and simply transferred. It would be best if it were the latter because then he wouldn’t have known about Penny, right?
“Ah, my goodness…” she grumbled, reminded why she had tried to distract herself last night. Too much thinking — when her mind was filled with questions — sometimes required a day of distraction or rest from the matter to provide her with a fresh perspective the next day.
Obviously, this only made her realize it was the same complicated and head-spinning issue.
“Finn Davis, that woman at the funeral, the other young man with her, and then… Jonathan Pierson,” she listed under her breath, huffing. “They all don’t make sense to me.”
These clues seemed like pieces from different puzzles.
“How are they all tied to the fall of the Bennet family and my imprisonment?” she wondered, jumping when the door suddenly slid open.
“Oh, my goodness. That surprised me.” She patted her chest, looking at the door to see Atlas stepping in with Zoren.
Atlas glanced up at her wordlessly before sitting in the chair beside the bed. “Zoren and I were just talking, and we think you should come home.”
“Huh?” Her face soured as she cast her husband a suspicious look. “Renren, did I hurt you last night that you’re giving me a return ticket?”
“Why do you sound so reluctant?” Atlas’s face twitched while Zoren chuckled, sitting at the end of the bed. “He’s coming with you, of course. You’ll stay at home so the family can look after you while you recover. It’s his request.”

“Oh!” Her lips formed a round shape as she pounded the bottom of her fist against her palm. “Right, because Renren isn’t well himself. A blind person can’t lead another blind person.”
“…” Both men were rendered speechless, but at the same time, they knew that Penny was better. She was regaining her normal self again.
“Also, Wild’s flight is landing later,” Atlas continued, ignoring Penny’s previous remarks. “Uncle Haines will pick him up, but he said he’ll let him stay somewhere first.”
“Ohh… right.” Penny briefly raised her brows, imagining Wild’s reaction once he saw her injury. Her cheek, after all, was still a little swollen.
That man would just pour more gasoline on the continuous flames.
“Do you understand, Penny?” Atlas asked, and she nodded. “The doctor told you not to work, so I’ll reach out to Yugi once they arrive. If there are any problems, I’ll handle them during your recovery. So, focus on your health.”
Penny’s eyes twinkled while staring at her reliable first brother. Surely, gaining Atlas’s favor had many more pros than cons. All the sweet talks she did growing up weren’t all for naught. However, just as Penny was about to express her appreciation for him, Atlas spoke again.
“I’m giving you a heads-up, though,” Atlas said flatly. “Your concerned relatives might visit and shower you with all the love in the world. I’ll do my best to stop them, but I doubt there’s anything I can do to quell the worried hearts of the grandparents.”
Penny’s face twisted a bit, having an ominous feeling about all of this.
