“So, how was it~?”

Penny opened her eyes, holding her phone in front of her. She pulled the blanket over her bare chest, watching her husband hurriedly walk around their bedroom wearing only his pants. His inner dress shirt was still left unbuttoned.

“Did you bedazzle your in-laws as planned?” the person on the other end of the line, Lily, asked excitedly. “Come on, come on. Tell me~ did your husband’s eyes glow, and was there that slow-motion effect the second he saw you stepping into the room? I bet all he could think of was how dazzling his wife was and how lucky he was. Did he make love to you all night~?”

This time, Zoren, who wasn’t paying much attention, stopped. Slowly, he turned to the bed where his wife was still sitting up after just waking up, holding her phone.

“Yes,” he answered. “I did… all night.”

“Kyaaah~~!!”

Penny’s face twitched as she flinched upon hearing the squeal from the other end of the line. She scrunched up her face as she glanced at the phone.

“Lily, how did you hear him?” she gasped. “I barely heard him answer.”

“Hehe. Penny, my senses are always up ever since I was almost scammed into marrying a scum!” Lily answered proudly. “Hihihi~! See? I told you your husband wouldn’t get enough of you if you went with my recommendation.”

“Thank you for helping her yesterday,” Zoren expressed as he marched toward the bed. Propping his knee on the edge of the bed, he bent slightly toward Penny. “I’m going now. Breakfast is already ready. Eat before you go.”

Penny pouted, watching him tilt his head a little as he placed a soft kiss on her lips. “You didn’t have to make me breakfast when you’re already late.”

“It’s alright. I’m already late anyway, even if I don’t,” he reassured with a smile, his face bright even though he had already missed two meetings after oversleeping. “Take care on your way to the office.”

“Mhm.” She nodded. “I’ll probably drop by to see Grandma later.”

“Alright.”

Having said that, Zoren lowered his head for another short, yet deep, kiss. He then reluctantly parted from her, making a quick trip to the walk-in closet to fix his shirt before he left.

Penny, on the other hand, idled on the bed, watching her husband as he bid her one last goodbye. Once the door shut behind him, her eyes fell on her phone where she could hear Lily giggling.

“Lily, I thank you for your help yesterday, but my entire body is sore…” Penny winced, squeezing her thigh as she felt numb from the neck down. “I thought he’d kill me last night.”

“Hihihi. Penny, it just goes to show how much your husband appreciates you~”

“He appreciates me so much I feel like he’s going to break my legs.”

Lily giggled even more while Penny rolled her eyes. “Penny, come on! Some women have to make an extra effort for their partners to desire them. So, take this as something you should be grateful for!”

“I am grateful, but at the same time, I feel sore.” Keeping the phone in her hands, Penny collapsed on her back and lay flat on the bed. “I don’t think I can even get up.”

Everything Penny said was downplayed, but honestly, there was more to it from last night. When Penny and Zoren got home, Zoren swept her off her feet and carried her to the bedroom. Everyone who was watching him was in awe—not because of how romantic it seemed, but because of the fact that he could carry Penny as if she weighed nothing.

Perhaps it was Zoren’s training with Hugo or his improving health that helped. Either way, that was all the others got to know about the couple’s activity last night. As for Penny, she was initially a willing participant, matching her husband’s energy and desire for intimacy.

The first few rounds were great, but then Zoren kept going. The extra rounds were alright, but then… he wouldn’t stop!

“One more…” Penny blurted out under her breath, her face turning sour. “… that’s what he kept saying.”

“Hihihi. What a beast~” Unlike Penny, Lily was happy to hear that. “Penny, you married God’s perfect creation. How lucky!”

Penny cast her phone a dead look, but then, she couldn’t deny it. “Well, he is perfect.”

“Handsome, rich, tall… and a beast in the bed. How dreamy.”

“Lily, is that all you look at in men?” Penny scrunched up her nose. “My husband is kind and considerate, he is respectful—except in bed—and he’s an overall good person!”

“That’s why he’s perfect,” Lily chuckled while Penny shook her head.

For a short while, the two of them went silent, with Penny just staring at the ceiling. The frown on her face slowly changed into a smile as she thought of Zoren. Even though Zoren’s energy in bed was unmatchable and his thirst for intimacy was unquenchable, they weren’t too bad of a quality.

“Anyway — ahem! Thanks, Lily,” Penny’s appreciative voice broke the silence, smiling at the phone even though Lily couldn’t see her. “Although there were many things that happened last night at the gathering, my husband is surprisingly happy to have me there.”

Even though the grand entrance was still an epic failure, it ended well. At least, that’s what Zoren told her.

“You’re always welcome. See? I told you! Your husband just says one thing, but he actually wants another!”

“I can’t blame him for that.”

“Me too.” Lily’s energy slowly calmed down before she brought up, “Anyway, I called because I wanted to know about the reaction last night. But also, because Ginnie told me she’s free today!”

“Oh?” Penny’s brows rose. “You guys going to hang out?”

“Yes, but we’re going to talk about the fan club reunion. I mentioned it to you yesterday, right?”

The second Lily said that, Penny’s face contorted. That almost slipped Penny’s mind—or rather, she didn’t want to think about it much. Who would have thought they’d plan so early?

“Didn’t you say I have an entire season for that?” Penny blurted out, clarifying that detail.

“I did say that, but there were so many things to reconsider,” Lily shrugged. “Anyway, if you want to come by and join us, then you should.”

“Lily, I love you, but I can’t today.”

“It’s alright. Don’t feel bad. I just said it in case, but no pressure.” Lily hummed. “I already made an invite list, though. I’ll send them to you for approval just in case you don’t want to see some people—for example, Ray.”

“Haha…” Penny let out a shallow laugh. “And the venue?”

“The Summit School of Excellence!”
