Chapter 873: Chop chop!
[Pierson Corporation]
“Well done,” Zoren remarked as he rose from his seat. “Send that last report to my office. Meeting adjourned.”
Once those words left Zoren’s mouth, he walked out of the meeting room without hesitation. Benjamin followed immediately, leaving the team leading the project to celebrate a smooth day.
Just as they stepped out, Zoren’s voice reached his ears. “Ben, what’s my schedule after this?”
“Uh…” Benjamin cleared his throat, rushing to keep up with Zoren’s pace. “You have a private meeting with… and then, some virtual meetings with… You also have golf practice with the governor… after that, there’s a…”
Benjamin listed what Zoren had to finish today, having it all memorized in his head. After all, Zoren rarely kept track of his own appointments and was often clueless about his schedule. Once Benjamin was done, Zoren suddenly stopped and nodded.
“So, nothing important?” Zoren mused in satisfaction, making Benjamin scrunch up his nose.
“Sir, what do you mean, ‘nothing important’?” Benjamin gasped, looking at his boss in disbelief. “All of these meetings have been pushed back multiple times. You agreed to finish them all today. They’re all important, sir.”
But everything Benjamin said went in one ear and out the other. Zoren had already started dialing a number. Benjamin quickly glanced at the screen to see who it was, only to realize Zoren was calling the next person on his schedule.
“Mister Pierson!” called the person on the other end of the line the moment it was picked up.
Zoren smiled as he resumed walking. “Good morning, governor. We have a scheduled meeting today, but…” he explained the situation in a short and precise explanation. “Is it possible to move it?”
“Haha! Oh, dear! I heard you were married, but I didn’t think it was true. But now that you personally called me, telling me all about this, I guess I have to believe it!”
Zoren stayed on the line for another minute before ending the call, thanking the governor for his understanding. But he didn’t stop there; he made another phone call immediately, leaving Benjamin stunned as he had to listen to Zoren repeat the same script over and over and hear the people he called laughing as if it was no big deal.
By the time Zoren reached his office, he had successfully canceled everything, clearing his schedule for the day.
“Wow…” Benjamin looked at his boss in surprise, watching Zoren stop in front of his office.
Zoren glanced over his shoulder, his hand on the door handle. “Do I have other meetings left for the day?”
Benjamin shook his head, only to hear Zoren say, “Good,” before pushing the door open and walking in. Benjamin furrowed his brow, trying to figure out what to say. Eventually, he found the right words and feelings.
“Sir! You can do that?!” Benjamin gasped, watching Zoren approach the blazer stand to change his blazer.
Zoren casually took off his blazer, casting his assistant a look. “Do what?”
“Cancel your schedule!” Benjamin exclaimed. “I didn’t know you had their personal phone numbers!”
“How come you don’t know?” Zoren shrugged, placing the blazer he was wearing back and reaching for the other. “I thought you knew.”
It wasn’t like Benjamin didn’t know that Zoren had his contacts’ numbers. However, Zoren never personally canceled meetings. That had always been Benjamin’s job. If Zoren was doing it now, what would Benjamin do?
“Don’t worry about it, Ben,” Zoren said, facing his assistant after changing his blazer. “I did it for efficiency so you don’t have to get scolded.”
Zoren paused and smiled. “I’m leaving early to check on my wife. Lily just texted me, asking how I could be so neglectful because I’m not there for Penny.”
“Let’s go, Ben,” Zoren said, picking something up from his drawer before striding out.
Benjamin stood motionless in the same spot, even as his boss walked past him. He only snapped out of his trance when Zoren closed the door behind him, leaving him behind.
“Sir!” Benjamin yelled, jumping from his spot to follow Zoren. Eventually, he reached him outside the elevator. “Sir, you said you personally canceled your meetings because you didn’t want me to get scolded?”
“Mhm.”
“Then why do you always ask me to cancel your plans?”
“…” Zoren looked up for a moment to think. When he turned to Benjamin, he shrugged. “Because I pay you to do it?”

DING!
Without wasting time, Zoren stepped into the elevator and waited for Benjamin to follow.
“Are you coming or not?” he asked, tilting his head to the side, watching Benjamin stare at him listlessly. “Then, have a good day, Ben.”
With that, Zoren pressed the close button and waved goodbye to Benjamin. When the door closed, he pulled out his phone and dialed Lily’s number.
“You’re right. I’m being neglectful. I’m glad my wife has such a good friend,” he said, earning a playful chuckle from the other end of the line.
“No worries — anyway, you can’t just come in here looking like a teacher, okay?” Lily remarked, adding more details of what she needed Zoren to do.
As Zoren listened, his brows rose. “Is that okay?”
“Of course!” Lily giggled. “It’s going to be fun. It’s a little surprise I have for everyone. See ya~!”

[Back to the Summit School of Excellence]
People started arriving one after another, so when Nina and Jonathan returned, the once spacious gymnasium was now packed with people… or students.
“Oh.” Jonathan furrowed his brows, looking at everyone before his eyes fell on Nina. “I didn’t know there was a theme.”
“I didn’t know either.” She shook her head, glancing at him before they both set their eyes ahead.
Most of the guests were wearing uniforms, just like when they were students. Not everyone, but the majority. Nina and Jonathan didn’t hear about this. They were only out for about twenty minutes, but a lot seemed to have happened at that time.
“Right.” Snapping out of her shock, Nina turned to Jonathan and smiled. “Your things, right?”
“Yes.”
“I think your table is over there…” Nina stretched her neck to look for their table, only to trail off when some people stopped in front of them. “Huh?”
Both Nina and Jonathan furrowed their brows, looking at the adult women standing in front of them with childish hairstyles and student uniforms. When their eyes fell on the sashes that read “Officers,” they immediately felt ominous feelings in their hearts.
“Hehe.” One of the women giggled, her long pink earrings swaying. “The President’s mind has changed!”
“Huh?” Nina and Jonathan blinked, clueless about what these girls were saying. But in the back of their minds, they had a guess.
Just then, the girls pulled out a girl’s uniform and beamed at them. Nina gazed at the uniform, only to catch Penny in the background screaming for her life.
“Nooo… Lily!”
When Nina saw Lily and Ginnie dragging Penny away from the gymnasium while the other women were holding uniforms, she instantly understood.
“Do I get a say in this?” she asked, only to see them shake their heads. “Okay.”
With that, Nina sighed and followed the girls, catching one of them tossing a uniform to Jonathan. Jonathan gazed at the uniform that landed on his arm, looking up at the woman, only to see her smiling from ear to ear.
“Get dressed. Chop chop!”
