Chapter 179: Kent’s Speech
The moment Kent’s voice entered everyone’s ears, all eyes turned in his direction. There, they saw a handsome bastard munching on an apple and walking toward the arena casually.
In his hands was perhaps the most beautiful sword sheath they had ever seen. Though they were seething in anger, they couldn’t deny that Kent was indeed a feast for the eyes.
In fact, every lady there, including the elders, raised an eyebrow when they saw the handsome Kent walking toward the stage.
Meanwhile, sitting beside Saintess Selene, Ingrid placed her hands in front of her mouth, her eyes widening when she saw Kent appear.
Saintess Selene, who had already expected this due to how she described her first encounter, remained quiet, connecting the dots and smiling.
Kent had already told his women about Alina and even shared how they met and how their first time happened.
So when she spoke to Ingrid and found out that she had seen the two of them in the auction house, she could only smile and wait for this moment.
“That is my disciple, Kent. Isn’t he handsome?” Saintess Selene said, looking at the shocked and flustered Ingrid.
Ingrid nodded absentmindedly.
But of course, even Saintess Neomi couldn’t deny it—Kent was indeed handsome.
However, now wasn’t the time to focus on that.
“Who are those two cute ladies behind him?” someone asked, making everyone start to wonder. Akira was rocking her usual tank top and short jeans with a nice set of cute little shoes.
Her black, small backpack was still on her back, and her long ponytail braided hair was nearly touching the floor behind her.
As for Gaia, she was now human but was rocking her pirate hat, which was funny, considering she looked nothing like an old pirate.
They had no aura, meaning they were mortal. This made people quickly conclude that they were perhaps his sisters or servants.
But they leaned more toward servants, considering you can’t just bring your entire family into the sect. Maids and servants are allowed, though—two at most for inner disciples and three for core disciples.
Kent stopped just before stepping inside the Arena and turned to his master, waving. Of course, his eyes met Ingrid’s, and he gave her a teasing wink.
He recognized her instantly but didn’t say much.
“Akira, you and Gaia should go and stay with Master. Be sure to cheer hard since you two and Master are my only fans.” The two lolis nodded and ran toward Saintess Selene, making everyone who saw them want to steal them from Kent.
They were just too cute.
Of course, he didn’t want to risk it, so he didn’t bring Li Hua, who would have equally made everyone want to kidnap her—literally, lol.
Kent stepped inside the Arena and smiled at the Elder, who was giving him the “You are one arrogant bastard” look.
Kent bit into his apple and started chewing while he waited for the noise to die down. When the last person stopped talking, he looked toward the Gate Master.
“Sorry for being late. I was training and lost track of time.”
The Gate Master didn’t answer him. She turned to the Elder who would oversee the trial, and he immediately knew what had to be done.
“Challenger Kent, do you have something to say, seeing this might as well be your last day as a cultivator and a swordsman?”
The ridicule in his voice said it all… They were not placing him in their eyes. Which was normal, but Kent was offended in a way. Of course, he was a dragon, and all dragons pride themselves.
Kent sighed and looked around the Arena, choosing his words wisely.
“First of all, shouldn’t I be called Disciple Kent? I mean, I am the disciple of Saintess Selene, after none of you losers managed to become one.”

Kent’s words immediately made him stand under thousands of killing intents. Of course, he just shrugged it off and continued his speech.
“But I don’t blame you all. After all, I am just the arrogant bastard who has a death wish, so I chose to challenge the sect. I get it; I may appear more handsome than you all, but when it comes to the sword path, I have no equal at the same rank.
I am not looking down on you, fine swordsmen; I just don’t see any of you winning this battle that’s to come.
Of course, you can call it a bluff, which you will find out soon enough.” The more Kent spoke, the angrier people became.
But Kent wasn’t wasting his words. No, he was completing a quest he had received a few minutes after he woke up from his breakthrough.
He turned toward the Gate Master…
“This is what is going to happen here today… I, Kent Madson, the first and only disciple of the Sword Saintess, will defeat your finest swordsmen within 10 hours.
I won’t take any breaks between battles.
Of course, I wouldn’t want you all to lose face, so I won’t draw my sword either. It’s already too shameless for me to challenge Grandmaster swordsmen; I wouldn’t want to affect their Will (Heart / Dao Heart), too.
But fear not. I wouldn’t look down on any of the disciples, even after I defeated them. After all, I don’t discriminate; I only deliver.”
Kent smiled because he felt a powerful killing intent lock onto him when he finished his sentence. It was the killing intent coming from the Gate Master, which meant his quest had been successful.
[Congratulations, you have completed your quest: Enrage The Gate Master. Rewards have been deposited into the Tower Storage.]
Kent had received a quest that required him to use his words to enrage the Gate Master and make her release killing intent. In fact, the quest came with a penalty—if he had failed to complete it before the battles began, he would lose access to sword qi.
So, though he meant every word he said, he was also panicking inwardly. Thankfully, he managed to accomplish his goal.
But at a cost.
Everyone hated him now.
Even the Gate Master genuinely hated him to the bone, and if that wasn’t enough, even Spear Saintess Neomi changed her opinion of him.
However, Saintess Selene was still smiling, knowing Kent was perhaps doing something important.
Vexthra had already told her that, in all things, she should trust Kent, for he wouldn’t do anything without a reason.
Kent looked at the elder, who was seething in anger. “No offense, senior, but I had to warn them. Now, if you don’t mind, can we get this show on the road?”
After saying that, Kent took a dark gold mask that covered his eyes to his nose and wore it. It was one of the rewards of the quest, and its only function was to make him look cool.
As expected, the moment he wore the mask, he became much cooler. He stood, holding his sword inside the golden sheath. It was the sheath he won at the auction that made Saintess Selene follow him home.
The sword was the soul weapon Vexthra made for him.
The elder looked at him for a few seconds before calling the first opponent. He was a young man at Level 4 Root Saint Stage. He was a dual-wielder, and looking at his darkened expression, he wanted only one thing.
To cut Kent’s head off.
