Chapter 187: Unexpected Revenge (2)
Saden looked at her captain, who was just standing there. Of course, she could tell he had been there for a couple of hours but only now chose to reveal himself.
“Have you known about the true nature of her betrayal?” she asked.
“Yes. I saw it the day she stabbed you in the back. She didn’t do it of her own accord,” Uncle Drew replied.
“I see,” Saden nodded with a sigh. “Then is this some kind of test you have made for me?” she asked.
Uncle Drew smiled. “While this was unexpected, considering I never expected a noble family to be involved in human trafficking—well, it wouldn’t put it past them. But while this was unexpected, I can say this is a test, and you passed.
“Had you, out of anger, stormed in and killed everyone, which I know you can, it would have shown you are not ready to ride into the night. I wouldn’t have sent you back to hell for a couple of thousand years to reflect.”
Saden’s body shuddered, but she composed herself. She had already been to hell, and she knew just how dangerous and painful it was…he would love not to step on them for a while.
“But now that you have proven yourself, you have to see it through to the end, and that will depend on how you want to handle this.”
Saden turned and looked at the camp in the distance, smiling.
“When night comes, I will kill everyone and free the girls. Though Melody and I can’t go back to how we used to be, giving her her freedom is the least I can do…”
“If that is your decision, then go ahead. I will be here just in case you need my help.”
Saden nodded and began making her plan. Though she had the power to command the night into day, that wouldn’t be much of an effect and would be too tiring. It was better to use the natural night, where she would be at her peak.
A few hours later, the moon smiled, signaling that night had come upon them.
She turned into her night rider form, and with a crossbow instead of her longbow in hand, she began moving through the night, her presence practically erased from the face of the world.
She made her way to the tent housing the four retainers of the aloof heir of the Malric Family.
They were drinking when she entered the tent. She looked at them, and a cold killing intent instantly enveloped the tent.
This alarmed the four, but before they could shout or even draw their weapons, she fired four arrows made from hellfire, burning their souls in an instant.
The hellfire that the Night Riders command has two forms: the Soul form and the Body form. Today, she used the Soul form, which harnesses soul energy.
Thankfully, she was linked to Kent, so while she didn’t know how her soul strength was quite high. She was no weaker than a Tier 4 soul cultivator…
…This allowed her to access a large enough pool of soul essence that she could harness for her attack.
Once she confirmed they were indeed dead by shooting four normal arrows into their heads, she left and headed toward Darren’s tent.
Upon arriving near the tent, she heard grunts coming from inside. She sneakily peeked in, and that was when she saw Darren using his hands to play with himself.
A disgusted look appeared on her face, and without knowing why she was feeling that way, she aimed her bow and fired an arrow that went through Darren’s hand and into his dick, inciting a painful cry from him.
Uncle Drew, observing the battle, shook his head at the unruly behavior of his second-in-command, one of the best archers in the Riders of the Night.
Because of this cry, the six Root Saints heard it, and four immediately made their way toward Darren’s tent.
Saden was already hiding in wait. It took just three seconds, but the figures came within range, so she came out of concealment and blocked their advance.
When the four saw her, they immediately charged at her, but just as they closed in on her, she let loose four arrows that pierced their bodies, setting them on fire.
Saden wasn’t a Root Sage when she was a mere human; she was a level 2 Root Saint back then. But after she became a Night Rider, she received a boost, becoming a Level 2 Root Sage.
It couldn’t be explained, considering Uncle Drew had also gone from Root Master to a Root Sage at the peak, soon to become a Root Great Sage after he became a night rider.

So, while killing the four Root Saints was simple and looked easy, she was indeed stronger than them.
But still, killing all four that easily was the most unbelievable thing to anyone who might have witnessed it. Unfortunately, all those who saw it were her captain and the four who died.
Riding through the night, Saden moved toward the direction where the last two Root Saints were. It didn’t take long for her to drive an arrow or two through their hearts.
In the end, all six died, and she moved back to Darren, who was shedding tears of anguish.
Having your dick pierced by an arrow certainly isn’t ideal at all. But she had to resort to that, thanks to Saden hating him to the core. In the end, Darren could only keep screaming for ten whole minutes until she revealed herself, turning into her human form.
“You—A-aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Darren said through his pain, now mixed with shock and foreboding.
“No need to look shocked. You are not in the position to speak,” Saden said, piercing an arrow through his thigh.
This caused Darren to scream even more loudly.
“I am going to ask a single question, and you must answer me truthfully, or the next arrow will be much more painful. Of course, I’ll make sure you die slowly and painfully.”
Darren nodded like a baby. He wanted the pain to end…
“Why did you manipulate Melody into killing me?” Saden asked.
“That is because she has a Platinum-grade spirit root. I only found out thanks to one of my subordinates. But since she wouldn’t respond to my proposal, I had to get back at her somehow.
I initially wanted to make her my slave, but my father advised me to sell her instead. So, in order to not raise suspicion, I manipulated her into killing you and blamed it on you with the excuse that you killed her and ran off with a treasure we found.”
“So all the bullshit about me being the fastest on the ground and being able to take the herb and escape was all your plan?” Saden glared at him, making Darren’s body shudder.
“I told you everything, please spare me… Please,” Darren pleaded. He knew the Hunter’s Guild would investigate Melody’s disappearance when Saden noticed her disappearance and reported it, so he planned to blame Saden, who was destined to die after claiming the herb.
All he had to do was kill Saden, take Melody and the herb, and then report that Saden killed Melody and ran off with the herb they snatched from the demon mountains.
Everyone saw Saden and Melody run off with the herb, so he went with that plan. Saden is now a fugitive.
It was actually smart. It’s just too bad it ended poorly for him.
“In your next life, live a good one where you don’t turn into scum.”
A green hellflame appeared in her hand and set Darren on fire. His scream filled the night, telling all creatures that the Night Riders were reborn and, soon, the night would be theirs to command.
