Chapter 196: Money Stops Nonsense
Right after the manager sent Kent and Ingrid to the ninth floor, she immediately descended and gathered the workers.
“We just registered our first-ever Platinum customers,” she said, bringing shocked expressions to everyone’s faces.
As she mentioned, they had registered their first-ever platinum customer, which was shocking considering that for years now, the highest they have registered was just a Gold membership.
This was huge for them, as under no circumstances would someone typically pay a hundred million spirit stones just to become a member of their establishment.
Of course, they had platinum members, but not in a sect—not just any sect. So, this was kind of a big deal for them. Now, inside the Tasty Home Pavilion, Kent and Ingrid held higher authority than even the sect leader, primarily because of their membership levels.
“I’m telling you this mainly because of the crowd outside. I hope you all know what to do,” the manager said before leaving.
“Unbelievable, to think we will ever have our first Platinum customers,” a worker said, looking shocked.
“Who is this new Platinum customer, though?” another worker asked.
“I saw a certain handsome fella and Lady Ingrid enter the pavilion a couple of minutes ago, and later, Lady Erika led them away. I’m sure it’s them.”
“To think Lady Ingrid’s boyfriend will be this rich,” a certain lady worker said with a hint of envy in her tone.
“Cut it, Jane. You and I are just workers… Fantasies like this will never happen to us,” another worker said, making the worker named Jane roll her eyes.
“I know. I just didn’t expect something like this to happen. She mostly comes here with Disciple Randy… I wonder how he will react when he hears of this new development.”
Obviously, this lady is the type of worker who likes to spread rumors. She would, without a doubt, stay close to the chaos to handle the gossip mill later.
The workers dispersed to their work, with some serving the two Platinum customers on the ninth floor. Of course, they never expected their Platinum customers to have such a rich appetite.
…Well, it was Kent who was eating. Ingrid was still so shocked that all she could do was stare at Kent as he cleared one bowl after another.
He wasn’t concerned about the fact that he had spent enough money that could be used to buy a couple of Heaven-grade skills and weapons.
“You… who are you?” Ingrid finally asked, but Kent was busy chewing, so she had to wait.
“You already know my name, but since you asked, I’ll introduce myself again,” Kent said, gulping down a juice made from some of the rarest fruits rich in spiritual qi.
“The name is Kent. Kent Madson… 18 years old, and I happen to be the richest person in the whole world,” Kent said shamelessly.
Of course, Ingrid knew he was just messing with her, but she couldn’t help but think that perhaps there was some truth in what he said.
And it’s true, though.
Kent is perhaps the richest in the entire world. He has things inside his tower that he can easily use to multiply his wealth manifold, so the concept of whether or not he is rich—even he doesn’t know how rich he can become if he chases after wealth.
“You have to eat… My auntie said if you don’t eat, you’ll grow lean,” Kent said before going back to digging in.
Ingrid continued to stare at him for a couple of minutes before she chose to eat something so she wouldn’t grow lean from being shocked and witless.
She is from a merchant family that could be ranked among the richest, considering they are into auction houses, buying and selling.
But she couldn’t spend 170 million spirit stones like that…

“What do you mean that brat isn’t here?” a disciple asked, holding a silver badge showing he is a Silver member. The Gold members have a light gold badge made from ordinary crystal, while the Platinum badge is made from a rare jade crystal.
This disciple is just a lackey sent to discover where Kent is. Randy sent him, and as such, with his shoulders high, he came ready to investigate and report back.

“Like I said, the one you are looking for is not here,” the worker at the entrance said, not even bothering to look at the badge in his hand.
“We clearly saw him enter the pavilion a couple of minutes ago… so what the hell do you mean he’s not here? Are you looking to lose your job?” the disciple said, raising his voice.
This immediately attracted the attention of the other workers.
“What seems to be the problem?” the gossiping-type worker asked.
The disciple, who was acting all high and mighty, looked at her with disdain evident on his face. To him, holding a Silver badge was the highest authority one could brag about.
In the sect, only Randy and a few core disciples have the Gold badge, which allows them to climb to the 5th floor. Of course, they bought those mainly to impress the ladies, with Ingrid being their main target.
“A brat entered this establishment a couple of minutes ago. I doubt he has what it takes to even pay the entrance fee. Now, if you don’t want to get into trouble, I demand you tell me where he is,” the disciple said arrogantly.
The workers who heard his words clenched their fists, with a few ready to jump him and beat the crap out of him. However, the elegant and poised Randy entered before they could do that.
“Maxwell, you shouldn’t behave like that. These fine people are just doing their job,” Randy said, walking inside.
Following him were a few other core and inner disciples, both male and female. Of course, the males were after Kent while the ladies were there to throw jabs at Ingrid.
“But Big Brother Randy, I just wanted to know where that brat is so I could tell him my mind,” Maxwell said, looking offended.
Of course, even an idiot would know the two were in cahoots.
“It’s okay,” Randy said before taking out his gold badge. “I demand to know where the fellow who entered with Disciple Ingrid is. He stole something from me, and I want it back,” Randy declared, showing his badge.
The workers exchanged looks, none willing to shatter his hopes and dreams just yet. Of course, the entrance worker wasn’t one to have much patience, so he took the lead.
“I am sorry, but you don’t have the qualification to know where he is.”
“What do you mean I don’t have the qualification? I am a gold member,” Randy asked arrogantly.
“Yes…you are a gold customer. If you want to know where he is, you’ll need to upgrade your membership to Platinum. Only then will you have the qualification to ask about a platinum customer.”
“WHAT?” All the disciples who entered held their jaws in disbelief when they heard Kent was a platinum customer. That was a shocker.
Randy, who had been arrogant, now wore a shocked expression on his face. He simply couldn’t believe his ears. Kent, his love rival, is a platinum customer…
‘How is he going to compete with that?’
Of course, Kent, who had been waiting for that moment, suddenly spoke a few words from the ninth floor.
“You know what they say, money stops nonsense,” his voice dripped with ridicule. He had been aiming for this very moment—to anger a few core disciples, provoke them into challenging him, and then beat them up.
“Since I’m feeling generous today, I’ll be donating 500 million to the Pavilion. All I ask is that you send out the noise-makers so I can enjoy my meal in peace.”
