Chapter 225: Meeting the Gate Master
Kent walked through a lush garden as he headed toward a magnificent mansion a couple of kilometers away, sitting on a small mountain.
The path leading to the mansion was breathtaking, so he didn’t rush. He was observing everything carefully so he could blend that with his knowledge of modern Earth architecture when building his city inside the tower.
After walking for a couple of meters, Kent stopped and turned back.
‘That is a long way for someone to speak and be heard as if she were standing beside us,’ Kent thought inwardly.
The Gate Master had spoken, and both he and Zhen heard her as if she were beside them when, in fact, she was far away in the mansion.
[She is a peak Root Transcendent, Master. Her power is no joke, so something like focused speech isn’t much of a strain. Even you can do it, provided your divine sense can reach the target you’re speaking to.]
Gaia responded, making Kent nod his head and continue moving. Soon, he was in front of the gate.
“Come in,” the Gate Master said, and Kent pushed it open and stepped inside.
The interior was lavish, but Kent didn’t admire it much, as the first thing he noticed was the Gate Master sitting, wearing only a straight dress and drinking wine.
The gown was thin and only covered her lap, exposing her legs and even, to some extent, her inner thighs.
The sight was tempting, but Kent knew better than to fall for it. He wasn’t that stupid.
The woman in front of him wasn’t to be underestimated. If she wanted, she could easily crush him with a single slap.
“So, you finally decided to make yourself available,” Gate Master Mara said, glaring at him with intense focus. “Tell me, what punishment is the most suitable to be given to you, considering all the damage you have brought to this sect?”
Her question was direct.
Kent deserved to be punished. In truth, he never expected Annabelle to bring her master to the sect like that. One could say Kent had underestimated her determination for revenge.
If he had known, he would have probably given her a fake identity, considering she wasn’t a disciple yet when they met at the Alchemist Dream.
“Considering the offense and the damage it has caused, you should probably punish me by letting me give you a shoulder massage,” Kent said, and the Gate Master nearly choked on her drink.
“Don’t get me wrong, I just want to ease your muscles. I was something of a masseurs before becoming a swordsman. I know when a lady needs a massage.”
‘He is bold, alright. I am going to enjoy breaking him,’ Gate Master Mara thought.
‘You do well not to let my hand touch your body… You will be wetting your pants in less than a minute,’ Kent also had his own thought.
The two are clearly plotting against each other.
Kent was rather bold in his answer to her question, but things won’t be that easy. The Gate Master is grown; she is over 100 years old, so she is much more experienced than the Saintesses he had started playing ball with.
If anything, Kent should probably up his game because, though she doesn’t want fame and recognition, she is, in fact, one of the best swordsmen in the human empire.
“What are you here for, brat?” she asked, settling her wine down on a small table.
“I want to know when I can enter the Sword Garden. It was one of the perks you added, and I want to know when I can get access,” Kent said. He knew when to get serious, so he engaged her.
“It will open in a week’s time. I have already begun the process, so you don’t have to worry. Now, if you don’t have anything else, you can leave,” she replied, taking her drink and sipping it.

“You do know the Olive Ginseng Wine will do you more harm than good, right? I mean, you should rather do yoga than drink this,” Kent said, looking at the drink in her hand.
He had used his [Enchanted Eyes] on it, and it revealed all he needed to know about it. The drink was bad for her.
“It’s none of your business. Now, you can leave,” Gate Master Mara glared at him, but Kent remained standing with a relaxed expression.
“I am just caring for your health since you are practically my mother-in-law. Now, while massaging your entire body just once can solve the decades-long fatigue you’ve accumulated, I know you still don’t like me.
Which is perfectly understandable. I mean, I did make your daughter my woman without consulting you first. Sorry about that.
But know that I mean no harm. If anything, just get to know me first, and you will understand the kind of person I am.”
“But while you think of that, take this wine instead. It’s thousands of times better than the one you are drinking,” Kent said, setting down a cute bottle of wine Gaia had recommended he buy.
It is a sweet medicinal wine Gaia pulled from a race that walks the path of the wine…
He then turned to leave.
“If and when you are ready for a massage, you can call for me. For now, I will get going. I have things to do.”
Kent left the mansion and went straight to Saintess Neomi’s residence.
Meanwhile, back inside Gate Master Miriam’s mansion, she sat there, staring at the wine with a complicated expression.
“What in the hell is yoga?” It was her first time hearing that word and her first time seeing such a bottle of wine. But she could only hold back for so long.
She reached for the wine and opened it. She then produced a new wine glass and poured herself a mouthful.
She set the bottle down and swirled the wine in the glass for a moment before bringing it to her mouth. Her eyes immediately widened the moment she smelled the aroma from the glass.
It was as if her mind and body had been lowered into a comforting bath made using the rarest kind of calming treasures. She took a sip, and before long, she was gulping down a glassful.
